Spoon Challenge Forging Competition

I competed in a "black box challenge" at Ark Valley Hideout. This is a forging competition where we make a replica of an item we never see, only get to feel in a box. Closest replica wins. This challenge was inspired by a video by Axe and Anvil, and is a Colonial Tasting Spoon, a modern take on an item from Early American History.

It is really a neat way to grow your skill. The time element really gets in your head. And feeling an item and then making a replica of something you never see brings some unique quirks into the competition. Especially if you don't know what the item is or what it is for... if you make it and don't know what it is, it is hard to know if it will actually function as intended. Every item we make has a purpose and actually has a function.
