- Everything you need to know for traveling to Utila Honduras. Join me as I fly into San Pedro Sula and make the journey to La Ceiba where I catch the Utila Dream Ferry over to the remote island of Utila! We'll go all around the island and find some great places to eat and even do some scuba diving to see the second largest barrier reef, swim with whale sharks, and then hop over to one of the smaller uninhabited islands (Water Cay).
How to Get to Utila from San Pedro Sula:
By Ferry, Utila Dream Ferry - utilaferry.com/
By Plane, Chartered Flights www.cmairlines.com/en/home/
Transportation Around the Island: If you plan to stay in any place away from the town center, then it is highly recommended you find a good tuk tuk driver and get his whatsapp contact information. A tuk tuk driver can be hired for about $20 a day and this will allow you to get a ride anytime, get your errands done and it is a lot cheaper than buying per trip. For TukTuk Driver and Water Taxi recommendations, leave a comment below.
Scuba Diving
There are ample diving sites all around the island and for the most part, the water currents are mild and safe. Some of the diving companies that operate on the island that you may want to consider include: Utila Dive center, Alton’s dive center, Gunter’s ecomarine dive center, and Parrots dive shop
Restaurants
The two most recommended places are Mango Tango and El Castillo. Other places to eat include Che Pancho, Mario’s Place, Rio coco Cafe and Hot spot Cafe. Breakfast is usually under $5 and you can have a decent lunch/supper for $10-$15.

Insane video production, clearly required a lot of time and effort. I thought I was watching a 200k+ subscriber channel. You’ll be there soon with videos like these.
That’s very flattering. I appreciate the compliment! ☺️
Ohhh my beatiful country
I'm from La Ceiba, I live in the states but always travel back when I can it is beautiful!
Amazing! Great job Ro, the scuba footage is absolutely breathtaking. Can’t wait for the next episode 🥳
Thank you!! I’m in the “trenches” now working on the next episode 🤪
Absolutely beautiful!!
Looks so amazing and relaxing! I can’t wait to visit.
It really is!
Beautiful part of the world. Thanks for the informative tour. Learned a lot. Keep these videos coming!
Thank you for watching!
Absolutely amazing video Ro !! Honduras is a hidden gem and so beautiful. People around the world don’t even know including me !! Now I have to think about getting to that country someday even though I’ve been to all the others surrounding countries includes Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Costa Rica , and Panama.
Thank you! Definitely plan a trip there soon…especially if you’re a scuba diver. I loved it so much I’m actually going back
Honduras surpass in anything the other countries that you had visited:
Best gatronomy.
Two oceans, Pacific and Caribbean.
The world second largest coral reef in the World: Islas de la Bahia.
94 Natural Reserves and National Parks.
Second largest Botanical Garden in the World, in Tela.
THE ONLY country in the world where every year happen RAIN OF FISH!
The Second largest Rain Forest after the Amazon.
The Most Beautiful Mayan city, Copan.
The only Central American country with 5 international airports.
The country with the largest number of honduran english/ german speakers .
The country with the largest Solar Panels Park in Latin America,
Home to the most oldest clock in the world, working, with 1000 years of antiquity, in Comayagua.
And all this is not even the half of why Honduras has more that many countries in the world, regarding natural beauty, history, culture, gastronomy, etc to offer to the world tourist.
Is not by accident that Honduras is the country of FIVE STARS.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful experience in Honduras and the Island of Utila. One thing l want to clarify is that the “baleada” is strictly a Honduran dish and not a Central American one as mentioned in your video. It was invented in La Ceiba in the 1960s or 1970s by a woman who was a food street vendor.
Thank you. Carlitos. Riverdale, Bronx, New York.

Thanks for sharing Ro! I spent a year in Utila In 2014-2015, and that made nostalgic to watch it. I did a music festival next to Neptunes, and spent a lot of time under water.. Missing these days.. Hope that you are doing fantastic wherever you are! Stay blessed!
Oh wow, that must have been an incredible time! I’ve always wanted to do the music festival, I might go back for that.

We booked The Cayhouse on Utila. It was super great. They have a sensory deprivation tank. Amazing❤
FANTASTIC VIDEO. AND THOSE WHALE SHARKS????????? OH OK I AM IN.
Thank you so much! 🙏 haha yeah the whale shark experience is incredible!!
🌊Very Beautiful Video 🏝🌊
Thank you so much!
Nice review and great quality!
Hope you met Jenn the manager of Neptune's. We stay every time we visit Utila.
We love the house reef. It is off the grid enough but because Neptune's and the beach there is such a destination place we bet to party without going in town I we wish!
Thank you so much!! I loved Neptune’s, I actually did a dive from Neptune’s and popped out right in front of the house I was staying! Lol so crazy, where else can you do something like that.. Utila is truly magical!
Ah que rico. Tus vacaciones fueron muy bonitas
Thank you for watching!!
I can tell you're very smart just with the way you speak. Nice Video.
Thank you so much! ☺️ appreciate you watching my videos!
Good job,bringing médecin.
Thank you! My friends Kirk and Elizatlbeth really helped out the community with their generosity
Awesome video! Sign me up for the next trip!
I’m not going anywhere cold!
I remember that passenger in the beginning on the flight you had mentioned, LMAO....it's a really cool video, like how it was put together....place looks waaaaay too similar to my home country nearby just remember that part i spoke about with the reef comment, lol!!
Haha I remember
@@GowithRo Yessss 😆
That’s an awesome video
I’m so happy you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Nice I’m hoping to go there this winter
Oh cool! I’m actually working on a video right now on all of my lessons learned from traveling to Utila so stay tuned if you need any additional help planning your trip 😉
Great video. I wanna go with Ro now.
Haha let’s go!
Hi hi I love your video make more people know about hour beautyful little island....
I work on all those homes ner by where you was ..also the house you stay in ...
Thank you for watching! I’m definitely working on some more on Utila videos, I’ll be back on the island soon 🥰🏝
Your welcome back any time ..also can take you around.
Fui a Utila en Diciembre del 2020 en una lancha rápida. Alquilamos golf carts en la isla. La pasamos super
Love it!! Golf carts are the way to go!
Hola, disculpa, cual fue el precio del alquiler de los golf carts? Gracias de antemano
No recuerdo, pero son económicos
Great Job on the video! How long did it take you to deplane in SAP and make it through customs?
Thank you! It was actually pretty quick.. under an hour when I flew in but I’m sure that varies based on how many flights are arriving. The way out took much longer
This is crazy! I just searched about Utila because of that old dudes TikToks and HES IN THIS VIDEO!?
Haha, that’s my good friend!
nice video!
Thank you ☺️
I was gonna save money by getting my scuba certification on the island, but it looks like getting there is challenging!
GO SCOOBA DIVING WITH A BUZz its such a relaxing experience
Lol! 😭
Thanks for the great video. I’ll be heading over end of this month and hope to spot and swim with some whale sharks? And suggestion on that?
Thank you! Since you’re going a bit outside the whale shark time frame, your best bet would be booking a tour from Boddens and Bushes (recommended from a local) they can take you out and find the whale sharks for you to swim with if they’re around🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽. If you need other information about getting to the island and restaurants etc.. check out my blog page www.gowithRo.me
I hope you have a blast on your trip! Keep me posted on your whale shark adventure! 🙂
U have Facebook page amazing place
Lived on the island back in 1999 n it was a wild place back then. At the time I worked 28/28 in Africa n traveled back n forth every month. Loved the island n bought two lots at the end of Pumpkin Hill road on right facing water. Spent many days out there but someone started taking the sand off of my lots while I was gone so ended up selling n making a little n never went back cuz I started going to Philippines n now live here n people here are so much nicer but food is not as good. God Bless
That’s very cool! What a great spot on pumpkin hill. That’s too bad what happened but the Philippines is so nice you’re probably better off there lol. I’m going to plan a trip there soon!!
@@GowithRo no doubt u will enjoy urself here....God Bless

👌🏻👏🏻😍
Thanks!!
Thank you for this video. I loved it! 🙂 Utila is on top of my list to visit and it might happen very soon. Can't wait to experience this island and if everything works out this might be the place I retire too. 🙂 BTW who did you rent that boat from? 🙂
Thank you and So happy to hear! Cheri and her husband provide water taxi services, so I’d just text them on WhatsApp and they would pick us up and drop us off. Here’s her number +1 (707) 349-6506
Do plane land on the dead coral reef in Utila? I visited La Ceiba during the Carnival. Plus some old friends have a Island souwes key about a thirty minute ride on dory.
Those are some really cool islands! I want to go back and visit more of the surrounding areas.
Wowwww..Nice!!
So sad to see all the fish are gone , everywhere I’ve been so far humans have basically wiped everything out , it’s the same back home in Australia to
Hi any suggestions about how to reach a Tuktuk driver?
Also, I need to know the best way to get from the airport to the bus company or station in downtown san pedro sula that will take me to La ceiba and then what ferry I need to take to utila. 😇😇😇
Hi there! Once you get off the ferry there will be tons of tuktuk drivers there waiting to take you wherever you are trying to go! Or if you want to contact the tuktuk driver I used, his name is Chover, you can contact him via WhatsApp +504 9584-9082.
Hmm, you probably just want to take a taxi from the airport and then just look up Utila Dream Ferry. The link is also posted in the description of my video.
Good luck on your travels!!
@@GowithRo thank you❤️❤️🙏🏼 more travel vlogs soon!!
También tengo mi bonito video de Utila. Toda una experiencia
💛💛🙌
Noice pl-ace
Very nice🤙
Great video! Couple of corrections: it’s bah-leh-ah-dah, not bah-leh-ey-dah. And it’s not Central American, it’s only Honduran. Anyway, Thanks for bringing us along!
Awesome, thank you!
I would recommend donating to the government clinic. The one you guys donated to is a private clinic which most cannot afford to go to.
That’s a very great point and we actually gave medicine and supplies to both places to make sure we help as many people as possible. If you have other suggestions or feedback you can always reach out to the organization at supportutila.org/
Did you have to present a covid test when leaving usa to honduras?
Hi there! Yes, when I was there it was still a requirement to present a negative COVID test both routes.
Ive never heard anyone pronounce baleadas the way she did: Bally ay das 😂 that was wild
I do what I can lol 😂
Great video but there’s one error: Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world
Thank you for watching! That’s a very great call out, it’s actually the same reef that runs along both countries because it’s a part of the mesoamerican barrier reef system aka great Mayan reef which extends from Mexico to Guatemala, Belize and Honduras… but I totally get how it could get misconstrued
The Best place in the carebean
Agreed!!
will your friend let me stay with them lol
Es que zona de utila es y dónde conseguiste que te rentaran los tanques
Hi! We got the tanks from Neptunes, it's the silver garden zone close to Jack Neil.
@@GowithRo Thank you 🥰🤗
Such a pretty lady😍😘
Why thank you 😊
Link to the bathing suit in the thumbnail?
I think it’s from Shein … sorry I don’t have the link 😭
Girl where did you stay? And how or where do you go about the diving gear? Oh lord${
I stayed on the south shore over by Neptunes .. it’s very quiet and remote.. you can only get to it by boat. I take my own diving gear and then just rent tanks but There’s a dive shop on this side called Utopia, they will set you up with everything!
Wonderful! The most helpful is to list rental, stay options if you could. I completely understand putting all those hours to provide exceptional service to the viewers without being sponsored. Helps with trusting the local businesses and feeling safe exploring those areas💖 thank u
In roatan now, can you send tuktuk driver info pls
The driver is in Utila, send him a message on WhatsApp +504 9584-9082
Oh no touching coral 🙆♀️
Is not a central american dish.baliadas a originally fron Honduras only.
would you go back?
I would! It’s a fun island with great scuba diving.
Bought land on the south shore, so can so relate, create video .
Very cool!
What things happened to you hahahahaha, I live in Honduras and I never saw cows in the street
Haha I guess it’s just my luck! It was pretty cool though
I love how you butchered the word Baleada lol
Haha thanks!
I do not like my friends from honduras also
Sorry that you had bad experiences but you should try to see the good in people.
entonces porque los llamas amigos ? eso se llama hipocresia
LA FRIJOLERA HABLA BIEN EL INGLES !
Most Ticos speak English very well!
@@GowithRo JA JA JA JA JA GOOD ! CONGRATULATION FOR YOUR VIDEO !!! IT'S A VERY BEATIFUL !
why are people from honduras bad people
I met a lot of wonderful nice people in Honduras, don't be so quick to judge others.
all my friends do not like people from honduras
That's sad
Thank you for your donation they really need medication in Utila! ❤⛵🚤🇭🇳
Absolutely! It’s so important to leave something positive behind when you travel
