This feels and looks so much faster than the 99 style of play
This is such a fun mode - the reduced draw distance and slimmer tracks makes it feel a lot more intense than even the GP final tracks. Feels like the balance needs some work for this mode, though... Stingray becomes a choose to lose machine.
Top 3 in almost every race shown in the video was dominated by Stingrays btw
@@schemes1425yeah like I said, choose to lose.
It's funny on how, in this mode, Fire Stingray reigns supreme. Nothing too different from Super Nintendo.
Throw in the classic racing with the S Jets. Now that is classical and old school
Extra challenging without the spinning defense action and sky way. The way F-Zero was meant to be played
Too bad the only viable vehicle in classic is the fire stingray
@@denimchicken104 that be true. No dispute there
I like this mode alot more
Was not expecting to seem myself in a video, let alone being right in your eyesight for multiple laps xD
I'm enjoying this mode. Probably my favorite of the non-GP rotating modes. Though part of me wishes we had the spin-attack. And the pity part of me wishes the Golden Fox had one boost on Lap 1.
Oh really? Nice! What's your name in F-Zero 99, if you don't mind me asking?
@@ModernXP_
I was that Blue Falcon in front of you on Mute City. Xtema. By lap 2, you were always right behind me.
How does the game deal with voting ties?
Probably just random.
Aww, they didn't keep the classic physics where you'll be sent ricocheting off walls after bumping into one car?
lol with 20 human cars it would be absolute insanity. Funny but annoying.
@@denimchicken104 It would only be annoying to those who care about winning. :P
New mode idea. Have weird settings with cars. Like amount of health, steering ability. A randomizer if you will
Terrible idea
Randomizers are fun for like 5 minutes and then never visited again.
@@captaincommando9839 We'll just ignore the hundreds or thousands of hours people have put into randomizers like LttP or Super Metroid, or even as far back as TF2 randomizer servers that people have been enjoying since the 2010s
I was really just talking from my personal experience with randomizers for competitive games like this.
Not necessarily randomizers as a whole.
An f-zero randomizer would just end in one person getting an OP car and winning.
@@captaincommando9839 I see...
F-Zero 99 does already feel like it was balanced on a knife's edge to begin with, so I get feeling like randomized stats would easily produce an overpowered car, and the stats that can be randomized is a pretty small pool as is, which might not make for enough variations to be entertaining.
Conversely, I can imagine a randomized mode that only affects body and grip to the point that you're likely to end up with a clown car rather than a threatening machine. Something with twice the durability of the Wild Goose but 3x the slippage of Golden Fox would be pure comedy to see gliding around the track like a hateful hockey puck. Would suck to roll the glass wheelchair but it is what it is and you can get into another lobby quickly, at least.
