My grandmother still has an antique Singer sewing machine with a foot drive. So it stitches leather jackets, thick material that a modern electric sewing machine cannot handle.
I'll say it again. I really like the new intro Alex. The choice of music, your voiceover describing the channels direction and great scenic shots. Very nice!

Last year I went through my old Lego from the 90’s, everything was mixed together, I spent months building everything back together and sold most of it (still have a few sets left). It was a lot of work but really worth it! Made a few thousand dollars and had a great trip down memory lane as a bonus. 😉
Also, about the sewing machine..lt looks like a long bed, as determined by the length of the flip up section. Also, the case is rare and looks to be in great condition.
Your thumbnail instantly told me that was a Singer sewing machine! I could tell just by the case it's the exact model I learned on! My mother still has hers and it works fine to this day.
I love Value Village! I have never seen bags of Lego at resale shops for that low of price. Great deal on that sewing machine as well! It would be fun if you could shop there every week and film what you find. Thanks for taking us along.
That sewing machine is a Singer 301. Known as the big brother of the Featherweight. Highly collectible. I own 3. Lots of people look for them. Well worth $150 and up.
Better machine than the featherweight. You have a tan long bed. Here in Ontario they are preferred over the silly little fw. As a collector I managed to find all 5 models. Wont own a fw as I actually use my machines and dont need something as temperamental as a fw
Totally different machine, totally different mechanism. Stand alone slant, bottle motor, better drive than the fw. Not a big brother to anything, and still weighs the same as a fw but you get a bonus handle. $250 to $350 here. Black long bed add another $100.
I own two 301 machines - both long bed, one beige and one black. I don’t remember what I paid but it definitely was more than $100-$150 and thst was before Covid! A portable sewing machine with a metal head is much more valuable than one with a plastic head. Great find! Also, the “Thieves” carrier is from a mail-order company with all natural products. The carrier is typically used for storing their cleaning supplies. I would suggest painting the bottom rim, inside and outside, with a clear sealant to deter rusting. Older Singers were all metal and that makes them very desirable to people like me who sew. That one looks in fantastic condition. I'm sooo jealous wish I could find one that nice for $3.00. Great score
You should check the Singer 301 to see if its bobbin is there, it's the same bobbin a Featherweight uses and worth more than $3 itself. It's also a good idea not run the machine with the presser foot down without fabric there, it can wear down the feed dogs and scuff up the bottom of the presser foot.
You couldn't keep your eyes off the Legos.... lol .I once picked up a singer centennial sewing machine with table and stool canadian made for $5.00. What a deal.
Considering how many Singer sewing machines were made through the years, and how many still exist in pristine condition due to having been kept inside through the decades, combined with the demand for them being rather low, the price listed on this is pretty spot on. I have a bunch, I have never paid more than $10 for any of them.

I own that sewing machine and it's in one of the wood sewing tables. It needs accessories to do anything other than a forward and backwards stitch but it will go through just about everything. My mother in law gave me mine in the 80's and I prefer using it to my newer (last century) machine.
You can look up the serial numbers of Singer sewing machines to find out when thry were made. I've got my great aunt's Singer she gave my mum and it dates to the late 1930s. Had it serviced and it still sews beautifully. It operates off a knee- lever that fits into the side of the wooden plinth.
