Wow your cnc lathe is proven to be a work horse.
Meaning it moves from the z to and from the part with accurate tolerance.
I struggle to get to the part accurately manually due to the back lash
Wish I could improve without making it a cnc like yours
I have an identical lathe but under another brand in the UK called a clark
I can say is with branded lathes they have been made in China but they have been made better from other Chinese lathes that require so much upgrades

Hi mate when facing a part go past the X0. 0 by 2x the radius of the tip your using ie if you have a 0.8mm tip go past the X0. 0 by 1.6mm also on aluminium you can buy ally tips that have a deeper rake so the material rolls over and break easier

I got one of these I haven't used for 15 years. CNCing it just bumped up my to do list.

Very good Roger. You're a clever chap. At the start where you said you were using feed per minute I was confused but then of course I realised . . . . No spindle encoder. Is that on your "to do list" so you you can use feed per rev and screwcutting? Jim

Nice part Roger. You said you could do this in Fusion 360. How about a video on that? I've watched all you mini-lathe conversion and used a lot of your ideas on my conversion too. I'm not using Mach 3 though I'm using GRBL for my mini-lathe so I don't have those wizards available. Thanks for the video!
