  • Power Products model 1000 2-cycle gasoline engine, built in the early to mid 50's. All aluminum construction. Throttle governed. Runs well, but kinda noisy. These engines were often used on washing machines, reel lawn mowers, and similar applications.

Had that engine driving a Montgomery Wards reel mower. But the tank was one-piece. Walked behind it many hours as a kid. 1950-56.

I bought one new from the hardware store I worked summers in. It was in the early 1950s. Just an exceptionally sweet and refined engine for the time. I eventually put it in a homemade gocart where it did very well, but not fast.
