  • Although we've never seen a narrowboat in-person or navigated any kind of canal, we take on England's historic Oxford Canal. Wendy and Laurence push through challenges and learning curves mile by mile as they travel on one of England's most famous canals.

Thank you for watching! You're absolutely right, by the end of the trip we were able to enjoy everything around us instead of focusing on not hitting anything! You'll see!!

Wendy needed to stand on a box or something, so she could see better when at the helm, would have made a huge difference for her, it is NOT a contact sport that is absoloute tosh, there is no excuse for hitting another persons boat, a narrow bridge side a slight bump ok, ramming lock gates definately NOT! The hire companies staff are not entitled to make a statement like 'its a contact sport'

You're on point with the box suggestion, Wendy had the same thought while we were cruising. We've spoken to our builder and they have a very cool suggestion!!
We totally agree that narrowboats should NOT be considered a contact sport and to be clear, College Cruisers never encouraged that thinking at anytime. If anything they were concerned there was that mentality on the canals at all!
Thank you for joining us on this adventure, would love to hear your thoughts on the rest of our trip, and don't miss the real time cruising videos!
