Ok... I've stopped yelling at my screen. I think it really shows how amazing Ren is... the lyrics and the production are amazing but the acting... yes, this may be his experience but he makes this real. Bibi was his girl at one time, but I don't know the timeline on this. Ren wrote it after a few hospital visits and a breakdown... I'm just not sure how long between writing and making the video. I saw someone say Bibi came back to do the video? Pure speculation. Ren has credited her with helping him find the doctor that finally properly diagnosed him, helped him raise the funds to go see the doctor. Whatever happened between them, or whatever the timeline she was there for him. Love this video, and the reaction... thanks for doing this one. Also Ren turns 34 at the end of this month.

(Look for 'Third year raising money to fund life-saving treatment for her boyfriend' to find the interview.) Bibi back then started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his treatment/diagnosis. If I understood correctly, this was the basis for his Lyme disease diagnosis. One detail regarding the video: Did you notice how her silhouettes form a closing curtain when she sings that line?
Awesome reaction! This song to me is more of an experience of art than an actual song, like a real glimpse into someone's life and the emotions going on at the moment. It's almost like the words transforms into pure emotions and you lose track of what's going on (maybe like you guys just did) and it just draws you in! So intense. So beautiful, and horrifying.

Incredible he had this much power in his voice back then and yeah he is 33 now so that would have made him mid 20s when he made this. I love the video which was made with 0 budget pretty much and it just works so well. I think his more rock stuff is what he did with the big push, but i do think you would like both Heretic which has a great vizualiser video, and Fire which is maybe slightly more rock/pop oriented (no video, is just audio but is still really cool)

I’d never thought about it sounding like it might be Bibi singing the heavy part - but once you thought it, I can hear why it confused you. I only noticed the distorted version of the vocals in the mix on this listen as I was really focusing on the sound instead of the lyrics for a change. This is one of my fav Ren tracks too but because it’s so emotional, it is always a tough listen - as are quite a few of his things, like Freckled Angels, Suic!de, For Joe, How to be Me, Chalk Outlines. They are all amazing, but when they come on my play list, I have to be in a place and time it’s ok to shed a tear or else I tend to have to skip them - in particular, they are not safe for driving along to and it’s too intense and distracting.
In related news - i think I’ve cried maybe 10x more listening to Ren in the past 14 months than I had in the whole of my 50+ years before then. Ridiculous how he manages to tap into something so moving so often. It’s like his superpower is a kind of Aquaman where he can make water flow from people’s eyes at will…

Yellow is PAIN and Blue lighting is psychosis. And yes it is him singing she only has a few lines when electric comes in it's ren.
Ren was close to death, you can see he is skin and bones and it finally broke his relationship with Bibi.
They were together until sometime after his stem cell transplant.

It's "Bee-Bee" guys. Yes, it can be difficult to decipher who'se singing what but yes, it's all Ren after the music rock style kicks in.
Ren was 25 doing this and at his lowest. So thin. Bibi had to leave for her own mental health. (I think)
