I...was shocked they used that scene. Not it was bad, far from it. However, we just went from a clip that was somewhat serious and lighthearted enough to a scene that reminded me of just a downright downer event. Not the most uplifting clip to showcase the performance (I guess that's why it was used, lol).
I’m so glad she won! And now, she’s going to play the voice of the next Disney Princess named Asha in a new animated feature for Disney next year called Wish.
It is justified, back in the distant 1960s it was very difficult to know if you would win or not, it all depended on the critics, now there are about 1000 awards that already give you an idea of who is going to win, and well, Ariana won all the important awards, so she already knew
Creo que pensaron que como ella (H.E.R) es una cantante famosa que tal vez atraiga a más personas. Y cual mejor manera de incluirla que con el hombre que gano el Oscar por la película para la que ella escribió y también ganó el año pasado?
I hadn't heard of Ariana Debose nor her girlfriend and partner designer Sue Maakoo until watching this Oscar award ceremony and I must say both girls are gorgeously beautiful..... hugs and kisses 💋😘💋😘 congratulations 👏👏👏👏👏 Ariana on your Oscar Award Win 🏆🏆
@@hr7460 her character was a mess itself. Mentally tormented from start to end, and she expertly showed how someone can break away slowly till they can't take it anymore.
@@shafiulkabir5337 I saw both films and although I think Dunst did a great job portraying the tormented, broken alcoholic mother who sees her son’s security and future being compromised by Phill what Ariana did in WSS is far more deserving of a win. She acted, danced and sang her ass off. She killed it in all three categories every single second she was on the screen, you just couldn’t take your eyes of her.
@@gpapa31 It's a difference in opinion I guess. I saw both films too. But at the end of the day acting is the main criteria and I think Dunst acted better, Ariana was excellent no doubt, but Dunst acted better, that's my opinion. Singing and dancing is part of a musical, if that gives extra benefit then maybe Hugh Jackman should've won for Les Miserables a few years back and Garfield should've won instead of Smith. But that wasn’t the case.
She’s just proud of who she is and she’s proud of what she stands for. She’s trying to show others that are like her that they aren’t alone and that they could be just like her if they worked hard and kept their heads in the game. It’s a beautiful message and doesn’t need to be ruined because someone doesn’t want to hear what she has to say. I’d rather her message be broadcasted to the world every day than the constant hate we always put out into the world. Why shouldn’t she showcase her ideals? They are part of what makes her who she is.
rita watching her win for the role she pioneered in the 60s made me tear up
I got so happy when she won, so deserved!!!

@@thefirstbourne149 we don't know which scene they used. In My opinion i think they used a boy like that.
She was the only actor nominated for the movie at the event. Mike Faist and Rachel Zegler were robbed of a nomination.
I agree. I'm happy that Ariana won but Mike and Rachel were also great in the film.
As was David as Bernardo
Rachel not so much but Faist absolutely!!
Mike Faist was imo so much better than Jesse Plemons...
Agreed. Mike Faist should’ve been there. He was snubbed.
Soooooooooo glad she won!!!!!!! She deserved it
I’m so glad she won! And now, she’s going to play the voice of the next Disney Princess named Asha in a new animated feature for Disney next year called Wish.
WOW ACTUALLY? Definitely deserved
Judi's reaction is more exciting than Ariana's.

I'm thrilled that she won!
she's so damn talented, I want to see more of her
She tried so hard to make the "Yeah, I knew I was gonna win" face. I said TRIED, not succeeded.
Although I guess that's really saying something when your worst performance is only right there and you just can't keep it together!
Just you wait
That's how you make an Oscar acceptance speech
Ariana is very talented and a very kind person
All the nominees were wonderful.
i am so happy ariana won, she bodied this role
Omg YAASASSSS!!! I loved her in this so muchh!!!
I LOVED HER ANITTA she is amazing
I loved Judi Dench's clip ❤
What a beautiful speech!
Ariana,👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💯
At last I thought that's Emma Thompson who won an Oscar with larges pants in 90's and that outfit were welcome again this year with Debose.
She is set to voice over the future 14th Disney Princess Asha from "Wish."
This year i glad to see Dame Judi Dench to join the Oscar 2022
Omg ariana what a speech 🤩🥺
Well deserved oscar 🥰
BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Wow! Just became aware of this beautiful, intelligent, and sexy woman today and I am blown away. What an amazing speech!
omg 😭😭😭beautiful
I love how this has more views than the Oscar’s official CZcams channel 😂
I started crying when during her speech
Sad how she didn’t acknowledge the Chita Rivera for creating the role.
I cry every time I watch this
Punto…✊🏼 amore !!! ☺️😉👍🏼🇺🇸
1. Ariana De Bose (87%)
2. Jesse Buckley (9%)
3. Kirsten Dunst (2%)
4. Aunjunue Ellis (1%)
5. Judi Dench (1%)
She did the thing
Finally a strong year in this category!
Even though instead of Judi Dench, Caitríona Balfe deserved the nomination for Belfast.
Alguien sabe porqué no presentó sólo el actor ganador del año pasado? No entiendo la presencia de la chica de amarillo

Of the nominees, she was my favorite but Ruth Negga in Passing would gave been my winner.
Well deserved!👌😎👍👏♥️
Amazing woman. What an inspiration.
RITA 4 EVER
Rita Moreno reaction can't believe on history create
I still can't believe Judi Dench got that nomination over Catrina Balfe
so deserved.
How long was she on screen? 5 minutes?
She had a major role that was important to the plot. I thought she was phenomenal in it
Did you even watched the movie? She's more than just 5 minutes lol 😂
Well, actually Anita could be easily considered main character alongside Tony and Maria.
Were you awake when you saw the film? Real question
Kirsten Dunst was robbed. Ariana was great but Kirsten was exceptional in my opinion!!
I thought Kirsten’s performance was very messy personally

Yes, Ariana is queer. She is the first openly queer woman of colour to win an Oscar for acting.

No acceptance speech without going political. So sick
Let's see, did she check all the boxes? Latino/afro/queer/conceited. Yep.
Define "conceited." She's clearly humble and gracious here. Not to mention talented and exceptional.
I thought she was ok in West Side Story...She didn't stand out and I definitely don't think her performance was Oscar worthy.
