Otherwise, Stroll and Max would've reported loss of grip in the preceding laps and Red Bull would've called him in earlier, as they can also track wear using the many sensors they have available. Given that it was also a tire that isn't particularly heavily loaded during the race, the most likely reason for the failure is either a production fault, which then coincidentally affected more than one car, or a construction error. The latter isn't very likely, though, given that, as far as I'm aware, the C3 tire has already been used earlier in the season with no failures that I know of.
Yeah it's really their fault. But again, they have to blame on something right? Why would they want to blame themselves? They don't want to lose their customers. However, if these all are about safety, maybe FIA needs to consider finding new tyre suppliers or something.

Verstappen is a great driver and I'm proud he is doing a great job in the Redbull. He gets the most out of that car. I really enjoy this races with all the younger drivers with so much potential. LeClerc, Russel and most of all Norris. I really would like to see Verstappen and Norris in one team. That's my dream team.

@Josh Drake depends on how much energy is converted into the rotation. it it just flips once and sits on the halo it would slow down even more gentle than on the tires.

They are moving at many thousands kmh and it doesn't matter because its all relative. If you crash head on with a wall at 200mph you are dead. But crashing with 200mph forward momentum and lets say 20mph sideways momentum against a wall to the side your crash will not be a 200mph one but a 20mph one.

The wall alongside the pit is solid, whereas the wall he hit had some armcove barrier on it. Plus where he was positioned on the track the wall by the pits would have been at a sharper angle
He'd likely be dead, or very fucked up atleast. The entry to the pit lane curves to the left then has a sharp kink right with a solid wall there with no runoff. If max had veered to the left, he'd of hit that wall at close to 200mph.
That kink in the wall for the Pit lane is some horrible track design, it's like where Grosjean crashed in Bahrain and they've left it the same there. No head-on collisions.
