Does anyone know how to do the over head hand flick? :) I keep slowing it down to see but I can't figure it out if the hand starts facing down and then turns away, same for the hip hand! Tried googling but after following all those tutorials I'm a Latin tango sensation please help I miss the ice
Hey! So for the hand flick my palm starts facing away from my face and then 'flicks' in towards my face as it comes up over my head. You are sort of twisting the wrist around as your arm moves up. You can practice this move by just putting your arm out in front of you like a ballet dancer, but with the palm facing away from you. Then flip your hand inward so that you can see the palm. Then you can try this with your arm moving up over your head at the same time as the 'flick'.

I just want to say thanks Coach Julia! I just passed this ice dance and your video was very, very helpful. I loved that you broke down each element and the pattern. Also, good presentation! Love the arm movements.
Coach, that was awesome. Cross Roll on Outside Edges, loved it!
I am glad you like the cross roll. It is optional but I think it adds a lot to the dance.
@@CoachJulia Sure does Coach, spiced up your dance. Outside edge work is nice... to add to the tango
Good job as usual🎋🎋♥️♥️

You’re welcome 😊
Hi coach Julia, can I also do this combination as a guy? Or is this something only for the girl?
For the Canasta Tango, both the 'lead' and the 'follow' positions are the same. So you can definitely learn this pattern!
@@CoachJulia Thank you!
What is the music?
❤❤❤
😁
Love this. Also where is your top from?
Thanks! I sewed my top. ☺️
Ok, now I love it even more
You need to point you toe in dance on swing roll and turn your foot out. And bend your knees.
Well, I appreciate your comment, but my coach who taught this to me years and years ago is a Master Rated coach in ice dance and specifically told me not to turn my toe out. I have also passed these dances with this technique and have had students pass these dances with this technique. Perhaps those critiques are appropriate and what you have done, but I need to follow my own experience.
What's the song to this? Btw new subscribe please 📌 pin😊
So I came back to figure skating after taking a break for the whole summer and I came back not that long ago I remember everything like the basics but ever since I came back my body was not that use to being on the ice and I’m kinda struggling coming back
It's hard to come back, but just be consistent with your practicing and things will improve.
