      Hey thanks! I appreciate that! I’ve struggled and broke things learning the hard way over the years. So I figured I’d save someone else some of the headaches. 😆

    Sick ass video man. I’ve got a job for one of these soon so I was searching vids for tips since I usually work on Japanese 4 cylinder cars. Love the content and video quality 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

      Hey thanks @KevinEdgar for your comment! I tried to get as much information in the videos as possible. If you have any questions just let me know and maybe I can help. I ain’t no expert but I said a few swear words struggling with these trucks over the years so hopefully you won’t have to! Good luck with your project!

      @@unclelemme I just wanted to come back and say I did the 305 to 350 swap! And I did it alone! I needed a bit of help on the timing since I messed with the distributor and that was hell on earth. But besides that the whole swap went smooth. I even did pan gasket, valve cover gaskets and rear main seal while I had it out. Wish I got paid extra for those but I like my work to be amazing as possible. Thanks for giving me the confidence.

      @KevinEdgar hey thanks for coming back to share that! I’m glad you got that ole 305 out and your 350 is in!
      I’m sorry that you struggled with the timing. I’m glad you mentioned that, that’s something I need to go into more detail on.
      Also doin the extra work ie the rear main seal, gaskets was a great idea to do now.
      I’m glad that my video helped you and I’m also happy to hear you got it by yourself!
      Take care and enjoy the extra power!👍

    Had a head gasket blow on the same motor in a 1997 'Burban, it looked like the culprit was the dex cool eating away at it from the water jacket. Been runnin green antifreeze ever since. Not 100% positive that was the actual cause but there wasnt much particulate buildup and the motor hadnt been overheated. Something to consider but im no gynecologist.

      Hey good idea! I know when I bought one in 2002 GM warrantied the head gaskets on my 99. I figured that it wasn’t an issue anymore. (As in the manufactures changed the compound of the material).Butttt probably not… I’m going to go green just to be sure! Thanks Dustin!

    Bro I really need help the positive wire for the battery that goes back to the starter there is 2 one red one and one thick one with foil around it where does that one go ? I’m having such a hard time seeing where it goes

    • @unclelemme
      @unclelemme  Před měsícem +1

      There is 2 bolt’s that hold in the starter. Make sure your battery is unhooked. Then unbolt the starter from underneath and you’ll be able to see the terminal better. You’ll see it, it’s the larger nut. Ensure that you don’t ground out that ( thick wire) bolting it in! Hope that helps.

    The fuel gauge on my 97 Silverado jumps all over the place. 😂

    • @unclelemme
      @unclelemme  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I’m pretty sure all the GMT400 trucks I’ve had did that, even the Tahoe. It’s pretty common.
      I’m goin to be doin a Fuel pump and sending unit on my 96 K1500. We’ll see if the new cheapo one I have does it too.😂
