  • While Nicolae Ceausescu, the last Communist leader in Romania, was in power, scores of portraits of him were commissioned. Artist Adrian Ghenie says they're all awful.

    im proud of this guy, and i know a few more as talented as him, from my south City, Anl they were an absoluterly God knows how, but for certain, the best generation to come forward, right after the communism, I. on the other side, 2 years younger, i am not part of their massive creativity and generosity towards arts, can say im the failure of that generation that grew up after communism and miserably failed to show that we are able and capable of a little bit of art in us, factual Im a demolition .worker no talent at art whatsoever, but i started painting at 44, i dont even know the color theory ))))
