December Avenue, one of the biggest bands on the Pinoy pop scene today remakes a veritable alt-pop classic in Rico Blanco's "Umaaraw, Umuulan." The song gets a vigorous re-working as a modern-day band pays homage to one of the biggest bands in the history of Pinoy pop. But more than the band, it's songwriter Rico Blanco that December Avenue gives a nod to in this worthy tribute.
"Umaaraw, Umuulan" is just one of the songs included in one of the most exciting music releases of the year in the "Rico Blanco Songbook" - a salute to the iconic songwriting style of the former Rivermaya leader-turned solo artist. December Avenue along with a host of exciting artists are set to cover some of the biggest tunes in the "Rico Blanco Songbook" released by Viva Records and one of the flagship expansion projects of Viva Music Publishing, Inc.

I encourage everyone to listen back to old rivermaya songs, not bamboo's time but rico's, most of the songs na sinulat ng rivermaya since nag vocals na si rico are all about life encouraging.

This is one of my favorite songs. I feel so happy dahil nafeature nyo ang mga bumbero, lalo na yung mga volunteers na gaya namin. Nagkaroon ng pandemic pero tuloy sila sa pagtulong, may pera man sila o wala. Isa sila sa mga volunteer frontliners ngayong pandemic. This song reminds me of being strong in life despite of having a lot of problems to overcome.
