I don't speak Afrikaans but i like so much this south african music, ¡Congratulations Jan Jan Jan!
We had Boer settlers also in my country in Poland in its northern part and they were called Olender... They assimilated and became a part of Polish society... In the 18 century the part of land was occupied by Prussia but now it is Polish again and there are some Boer heritage old buildings to see there. They are situated in northern part of our biggest river Wisla. People in north in their version of Polish have a word 'gbur' and it means a serious farmer. In 90s many Dutch farmers moved to Poland again and set up their farms here. We are maybe exotic country for African Boers but as you see there is something RSA and Poland have in common. Besides i am a great rugby fan and was delighted to see yor country winning the World Cup and to see your best clubs playing in club championships in one league with best clubs from Europe. my father who is a retired farmer and flower producer likes listening to JanJanJan in the evenings. He was a seamen in 70s and 80s and hoped that one day sanctions would be over and he would visit RSA but then my parents bought a farm in northern Poland and he began a new farmer life.
