Hey, Aila!! You Smartie! I love how meticulous and careful you are 👍 Those are lengthy processes and it looks like your critters are doing very well ☺ I respect what you guys do and I am sure everyone's in safe hands! Thank you so much for sharing this interesting and educational video!
Oh gosh I see it 🤯 Aila this is such an amazing video. Thank you so much for sharing. It's so exciting to see how water goes through so many processes to be kept healthy. Thank you for all you do. 💓💓💗💗💕💕
Omg! I loved this day in the life video! Super cool job to have and watching this made me excited and happy 😊 I’m a bio major so this made me smile lol. Thank you so much sharing! I hope you do more of these in the future 💕
Hey Aila! Wow this was so informative and interesting! It makes me miss science class!!! Oh wow I can see the cereal babies! Thanks for taking us to work with you! 🎉🥰💜🌺
Loved this!!! First of all you are so beautiful 😍. That is so interesting and looks fun! Thank you to you and all who do that to insure our water is safe. Loved the editing too. Great job love!! 😍🔥

Just finished my 2nd year and wow, im loving it but i didnt expect myself to still be lost of where to focus with environmental sci
Aila! This was so interesting! My partner works in construction for a water company and he’s always having to drop off water samples to the lab- it’s neat to see a little behind the scenes of a lab that tests water!
Hey I’m a young high schooler who is really wanting to become an environmental scientist and I was just wondering what you did to become an environmental scientist and what the job is
thanks so much for the video! I'm a senior in HS looking at majoring in environmental science so it's really cool to see the types of jobs people can have
same! I was so lost into what I wanted to major in because I was interested in so many things but I realized that I’m more interested and excited about environmental science !!
Yes! Either one of you can reach out to me if you guys have any more questions! I'm so excited to hear from younger people that have backgrounds from STEM 😁
Hello, I’m currently a student majoring in Environmental Science to possibly be an environmental scientist or researcher and would like to know what are some skills that are important in this field. Thank you
Hi!! I would say being detail oriented and eager to learn are your biggest skills/habits to have! Being intelligent is a plus (which I’m sure you are) but having that drive to learn and do more is huge. As someone who’s training younger interns and new employees, it’s really impressive when you work with someone that asks questions and seeks to do more than what they are assigned. It makes you stand out and makes sure your first in line when it comes to getting new opportunities! I hope that helps!
Im late to the party but i work in a very similar lab doing alot of NPDES testing. The way you renew your fish test is a little different than we do. Do you guys ever have issues with your D.O dropping during the duration of the test? We typically spend alot of time sucking up dead artemia from the chambers to reduce the drop in D.O but the mesh poor off method looks waaay more efficient. Do you happen to know the size of the filter you are using?
HI I love this video! Could you make a video talking about the job prospects of this job and the salary? I'm an environmental science major, currently studying in the island of Puerto Rico and I'd like to know if this job is the right job for me. I love the idea of helping the planet and being sustainable.
do you go on a lot of excursions and have tons of exposure to the great outdoors? because this is what im thinking this job is and its like those jobs that dont feel like you're actually working.
Do you ever go out in the field to collect the samples or are they always brought to the lab with you? Are you spending ALL your time in the lab? Love this:)
For my position now, the samples are brought to me. Therefore, I'm always in the lab. My previous position, however, was to collect the samples in the field. I've come full circle haha
Hi! Thank you for your video! May I ask how much schooling you needed to get this job? I’m thinking of going back to school for a chemistry degree to become a toxicologist and am curious!
hello :) i would like to ask quick question if you don’t mind I’m currently form 10 and would like to apply uni in US, if I want to study environmental science, what are most common ib subjects requirement?
Hey thanks for this video. It really gave me an insight of what my career is gonna be like. I am always smiling and ready to learn when I get to class and try to ask as many questions as possible. Is there any advice you could give me?
Stay hungry and passionate about what you want to do. Work hard but learn when to dial it back when you need to. Balance is the key to staying sane for a science degree.
I'm doing a BSc in environmental studies (conservation and management), and I would like to know of it's possible to a MSc in environmental toxicology and management?
Hi Aila, My daughter is an undergraduate of bse honor degree environmental sciences and natural resources management of an university in sri lanka. She is in her third year by now and about do her second semester exam. But she not comfortable yet of what she does, because she says that though her course has number of topics for studying, content of those gives basic knowledge of each topics. So she frequently desperates of her future. That's her fear is without having expertise knowledge even in one specific feild how she finds a job plays her role in future. After watching your video, I noticed that you too have specific knowledge in microbiology and chemistry for playing your role. So it is highly appreciated if possible to give us your guidance and opinion on this. Doing a mse in analytical chemistry will be helpful? afer this bachelor's degree Thanks
I am from Sri Lanka . I am studying biosystems technology for A/L . It is possible to become an environmental scientist after studying biosystems technology ?
Hi! For my company, they only require two years of undergrad science classes. However, to get promotions, you would have to have a BSc. I have a Chemistry degree. It’s definitely advantageous to have a science degree. Hope that answers your questions and thanks for watching 😊
