"The top half of the craft is missing." You're not alone in having that problem.
GOT EM
Ohshid, that hurt
ouch
Lmao
Yikeronies
I don't know how much of this was scripted, but I really like this 'on the spot' content
Koos Naamloos exactly
Koos Naamloos Same!
dah dah dah dah dah
Ja Koos!
This version: Sprite
Version with butane flaming out the back: Sprite Cranberry
Joe had just one question...
Name of the onboard controller: Cranberry Pie
Gotta paint it cranberry red too
3:18 “I want fire coming out of this thing”
Nice one Joey B ima save that for later
i like this vlog-esk format
The no-care video posting is actually working! Please keep posting like this, we care bout engineering like this!
Well said.
“4 years later” this is a small scale replica of the Saturn 5! It can also land
video posting is actually working! Please keep posting like this, we care bout engineering like this!
and it actually goes to the moon
If you're having problems getting metal parts made then you should turn to the You Tube Machinist community. Brian Block doesn't live to far from you an he is an excellent machinist. NYC CNC does a lot of collaboration with other You Tubers,
I reacted to your video about content production value from a few days ago. Just wanted to say, if this is what you consider a reduction in video quality, I think you're more than safe.
Is it weird that this guy kinda looks like Elon Musk?
Elon musk tried cloning. This was the result.
Martians man
This is "Elon" before we know him as Elon musk from our timeline, the Elon we know is a time traveler from uninervese 1337.
i feel he realized he's Elon-like. so turned to make "crazy" stuff or aiming for it. Anyway, I'm happy to see a +1 to innovation on Planet.
Nah, he looks like a guy I met in prison, he was doing life for murdering his asian mail order bride
Because she wanted a divorce, he was so narcissistic, He wanted everybody to call him "Phoenix".
I remember one time he was talking down to this gay black guy, saying "I can talk to you however I want" Wrong!, That black dude proceeded to slap the shit out of him soooooo bad.
He washed his clothes once a month and always look like a rag doll, while walking around like his shit didn't stink.
"i want fire" yes... i understand you completely
I had no idea it was upside down until you said it was lol. You are waaay smarter than I
Really enjoying the more "laid back"/on the spot updates! Also, this project sounds super cool, really interested to see how it evolves!
Yay, quick and dirty videos work great!! It is very helpful that you are slow with your camera movements while looking at the vehicle. It gives people enough time to look at the details of the components. Very helpful and cool
Loving the new video format, looks really good and a lot more real
I love your new direction with the channel. Just do your thing and give us some peeks! You'll get more exciting things accomplished.
Great update Joe. Nice to finally see and hear about Sprite. I can't wait until your version of the Star Hopper test!
Joe: "I want fire".
Me: *Very casually clicks the like button*.
Did he just refer to himself as "Joey-B"
He always does that.
New to this channel
TheVeryMagenta Puppy nah
I think he should call himself Elon 2. Even sorta looks like Elon.
I think we can all learn to live with this format Joe. Hopefully it's less time consuming editing... so we get more content like this! Not that I didn't appreciate your editing skilllz!😎👍👊🤟
This was very good video, I enjoyed it. I know you have expressed your concerns about quality but I don't see any problems, the fact that you are well spoken on its own makes for a really high quality video and in addition you are working on a damn complex craft that looks really cool. I am definitely up for more engineering content at the expense of your editing time!
elon as a young guy but in 2019
Elon is Joey's son that Joey Sent back in time to help save humanity 😂
me: mom, can we have Elon Musk?
mom: we have Elon Musk at home
Elon Musk at home:
Your mom must be proud of you.
This comment wins the internet for me today!!!
Loved the spontaneous style of the video! Great content. Keep it up, Joe!
This looks like such an awesome project. I don’t do rocketry or anything of the like (unless CNC counts) and I still watch all these videos because the engineering is just so impressive. This makes me push my unrelated projects to levels that I would have never thought were possible before. Keep up the amazing work
I love the new format of your videos already
Just wanted to slip in and say I really enjoy the change of video style so far
Faces that will most likely to build rockets:
I really like your new way of recording videos and getting them out faster
Anyone else think this is Elon Musk traveling back in time?
Finally a proper TVC system! :) Do you plan to machine the aluminum/graphite jet vanes yourself?
2:34 it would be appropriate if you made that out of a sprite can
“I want fire comin’ out the bottom of this thing” ... awesome! I like the quick videos. U do some great edit work no doubt, but the quick and dirty vids help us enjoy the mystery of ur creative process. Also... I appreciate the beauty of ur design of everything piece, even in its rough skin-off vehicle. December hop will be watched... good luck.
The best video of BPS ever, just keep documenting!
Bro, bro 😭 you are so awesome! Your style grows on one over time. You are so cool man!
Keep on with your mission. You are doing great things. Well done, Sir!
Nice project idea! Looking forward to seeing it hover.
video posting is actually working! Please keep posting like this, we care bout engineering like this!
I don't mind the new format! keep it coming bro!
Best of luck on this new exciting project JB.
Good work, keep on! Flames everywhere!!
Yes! I like this format. Good explanation of what & why.
I like his sign off. So nice! Super cool project!
Great update! Sprite is looking amazing!
Wow! Looks like an awesome project, can't wait to see more. :)
Love the casual style of the video!
Great ! Happy Scientific Rocketry ! We can enjoy it as you explain stuff we never considered before. Keep up this Format !
Yup. Doesn't matter what style content you are making. Its all very watchable. Do both. Have fun. Its your knowledge and enthusiasm that keeps everyone tuned in.
Thats pretty cool! I'll be watching for more updates!
Thanks,I've been waiting for this video.
So amazing!! I love all of your videos
New video style is sooooo great. You should
Keep doing it after January
looking forward to seeing the next episode
The new format is great!
Can't wait to see this thing fly!
Thank you JOE!!!! This video was perfect sorry for putting some much pressure on you. Remember that we the LEGION benefit from your efforts. don't ever feel that you need to achieve a cinematic standard for us the LEGION.
I really like these short videos of progress
thubs up for this new format! 👍
good work , nice to see other people independently trying to explore space such as space X other than just NASA and other governments , your only at the beginning but with the right funding, knowledge and trial and error im sure you can take this further than small scale testing , good luck
maybe not the editing quality bar you've set, but the content itself is still just as good, which is all we really care about
Super cool rig! Also the Freemasons that built your garage door must've been real proud of their work...
Very cool JB! Keep it up.
Now that's what I call an overkill
...And I Love it!
Very cool, Joe!
You're doing this right. Good job
Every one: sprite is a cold drink which is clear
Joe:i beg to differ
This is very interesting great video looking forward to seeing more
Really cool update and project Joe. I wish I had a million dollars to help you along.
There is a lot more to rocketry then just the rockets. Launch pads, Mission control, Tracking, etc... all seem right on point. No worries man.
Great overview, getting motivated to try this ourselves. :)
Very cool. Hope you get the window's on your "truck" fixed too.
What surprises me the most, is the fact that he's teached himself how to do all of this.
Yeah a small test run would have been nice, but we will wait. Good work.
keep doing what you love.
hey thank you for posting not-so-much-scripted videos. I hate when it's too much edited, cuz my head goes numb. much love, keep up the good work
Great Stuff, Good luck for December ;-)
I love these kind of videos! ❤️
Super cool, keep it up!
"Gear On Ground". That's an interesting term. In aviation, we call that system "Weight On Wheels", or WOW. Various types of WOW switches exist, and are often called "Squat switches", as most aircraft have oleo struts of some sort. Rockets don't have wheels, so GOG it is! I really love this channel, btw.
I like this format much better than the complex production style
This is a fantastic project. Maybe switch out the butane pyro for a cold gas thruster system for lateral stability? Just a suggestion I thought I'd throw out there. Keep building!
Cool! Seems like a much easier way to dev the guidance program. Lots of data collection and algorithm building ahead.
I know you say you don't want it to produce thrust, but a compressor style narrowing and shielded injection/ignition points for the butane would produce a bunch more anyway for shizzles and giggles
As much as I love the fancy edits of the flights, I prefer this style of update a lot
excellent my dude
What’s your remote control link? Are you running TBS Crossfire on this thing?
you look like alon musk. and you also do similar thing.
I really love your work. you inspired me to make model rockets myself... but i dont have the money for it yet...
continue doing this amazing things!
and yes i know, its a old video, but i commend it here, because i watched the newest one already and wanted to leave the comment here lol;)
How to make a edf vehicle be classes into rocketry, add the flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Soldering on the Servo wires might add some stability on the signals, vibrations/ g-force with those connectors is waiting for possible problems down the line. It's plug and play, but if there's any of that play on any of the pins- playtime's over...
Wow. Is it Ok if I contact you via Everyday Astronaut's Discord? Regarding support that you mentioned and maybe I can help...?
Joe has a discord for patrons, you can join it with a small pledge. You can reach him from there.
@@boweneveritt3400 Thanks! I'm (currently) already pledged FIRSTLY to TMRO and SECONDLY to Tim Dodd, but I may be able to adjust this balance presently... so watch this space. :-)
I feel like the CZcams algorithm is randomly gonna suggest this video because it’s got such a great title
Also can we get a vectornav unit too pls 😩
wondering how you manage weight and balance. with 2 batt on one side ... why no nozzle?
also don't you want to mount both computers behind the cage? the board is strapped to outside frame....one bad tip could damage it no?
I just found your channel and I'm loving it! I always wanted to get into the world of amateur rocketry. But on a side note, Next part you need CNCed that can be done with a 5 axis mill , Ill would love to make the part for you for free (if you will let me) as i have been wanting to make more machining youtube videos (plus I love youtube collab videos, its how I found this channel) but I cant show the stuff I normally make as its my customers intellectual property. Just thought I would pass the offer. Keep up the cool videos
After burning ducted fan has been used since the 30's.
If you ran the vanes perpendicular as scoops you could use them all at once to cut thrust on a solid rocket on landing.
You do know a pixhawk with ardupilot would run this off the shelf?
Just finished making my own thrust vector control, you're a great inspiration! ❤️
I don't understand even single word but watching this looks cool :)
The visual of rockets flying around the world and landing is super inspiring.
On top of that... You find a way to move raw materials into low income communities at the same time people like Bill Pulte is clearing blight and freeing land and others are undergoing building projects that is also a life transforming idea.
This really reminds me of the LLTV. More so if you hook up your RCS system.
Just waiting for the day you get a sponsorship from an aerospace company to build them a moon or mars lander prototype. Keep up the great work
Looks awesome!
Though balancing is harder with a shorter stick
