About JamesandKarla:
Hey everyone! We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City.
In our videos we will showcase portraits of storefronts and shop owners in New York City & beyond and capture moments of city life that capture the spirit, energy and cultural diversity of individual neighborhoods. We also bring our dog, Hudson along whenever we can.
We made it our mission to thoroughly document unique 'mom-and-pop' stores when we began to notice the alarming rate at which they were disappearing. Our critically acclaimed books include “STORE FRONT: The Disappearing Face of New York”, “New York Nights”, “STORE FRONT II- A History Preserved” and “Broken Windows-Graffiti NYC”.

also on this day 40 years ago, on CBS, Michael Larson "pressed his luck" on Press Your Luck, much to the chagrin of Peter Tomarken and producers, he won $110,237 in cash/prizes over a two day period, 6/8 & 6/11 1984.
Thank you so much for the Ghostbusters 40 anniversary livestream. Our heroes start at latter Company 33, where they passed such places as "Alpert's Newspaper delivery","Aceme Restaurant" and the building where Jazz legend Charlie Mingus lived as they walked to Broadway, where they walked pass huge crowds towbote street whenbthey turned walked right to the legendary Latter 8, where the Ghostbusters fire house is where they saw huge crowds of fans, and the Ecto one on display for all to see. Not to mention channel supporters as well. After a while, they walked down West Broadway, passing by such places as " American Thread Company", "Soho grand hotel", "Sadelle's" "Morgentern Ice Cream" and even more channel supporters on their way to Washington Square Park for the "Hare Krishna Festival", where our heroes found dance, food stalls and clothing. As well as even more channel supporters. After that, they ended the livestream. Thanks for another great walk with humor, wit and love and of course the marvelous Mr Hudson whose love for people and animal alike has no bounds. Freddy thank you so much for watching and taking the time to write such a wonderful summary of the highlights of our fun-filled adventures including our walk from the historic firehouse in the Village through SoHo to Hook & Ladder 8 aka the “Ghostbusters firehouse” to see the amazing 40th anniversary celebration of the release of the Ghostbusters movie! We had so much fun meeting the super fans and some of the cast from the movie and the Ecto car too! We also loved attending the colorful India Day Festival at Washington Square Park. Hudson has a great day too getting treats and making new friends.
