When I was around 17, I came across Brian Tracy and fell in love with his teaching. I would go to the internet café at night because I couldn't afford the normal fee in the day. I would spend hours in the nights listening to Tracy and reading his quote.
One particular sentence stick with me from Tracy and that is; if you want to achieve something different, you have to do something different.
If you want to achieve what you've never achieved, you have to do what you've never done before.
Growing up, I wrote the above sentence and pasted it in my room and each day when I see those words, I knew that I had to make sacrifices.
It's very simple; if your life is not what you want it to be right now, you have to be willing to do something different and don't let me sugar coat anything here; you won't move from one easy world to another.
Doing something different means getting out of your comfort zone and this is never going to be easy.

I had leave my comfort zone of family and friends back on the Indian Reservation and went to nursing school in a town 6 hours away from home I graduated and became a Registered Nurse! It was not easy! I was the ONLY Native American in my nursing class!! I was uncomfortable and scared and wanted to give up many times! In fact I failed out of a semester while in college. I didn't give up and now iam living a life NOT in poverty like how I grew up. I thank God for helping me every step of the way..

I used to be homeless for 3 years. Man it sucked really bad. The video is spot on but as much I did not "read" books from other successful people ( i do love to read), I basically got connected with the right people, my mentor took me places ( I had no car) to meet with my customers, made huge changes to my branding, and again find the right people to help me. I did made excuses, wanted to give up, blamed others but I made a choice to make my own changes.
Books aren't enough.. SKILLS and massive action will propel you to get outta' poverty.

So having enough money is a right? Who defines what "enough" is? Enough to overcome poverty is a nebulous amount...who defines that? And if it's nebulous, how can it be a right? The word "right" has a particular meaning. In the U.S. the Bill of Rights is relatively small. Rights are undeniable. Not just anything is a Right. How can overcoming poverty ever be a "Right"? We have a right to be treated with dignity, but that's not money. And we have a right to a decent life, but who defines decent? And how much money is required for that? Natives don't need money for decent lives. We lived thousands of years with no money.
Mr. Mandela was a communist. He thought he had a right to YOUR money because he didn't believe in private ownership. That's important to know.

Remember, without comparison, there is no poverty. You do not know what your missing unless someone shows it to you. God bless advertisers, the definer of poverty in many of us.
Old Wisdom missing...but why would I need to? Because it’s all material anyway and it’s nothing like having it all and being a dummy. having it all is internal external means crap truly, it’s good but it’s not soul defining. That a what matters knowledge, having etiquette and knowing my how to treat others with respect. Those are rich things because it is very hard to maintain niceness.
Instant gratification is a killer, so is following the herd. Moderation in everything is good. This is the wisdom of a 90 year old.
Here are some realistic sacrifices to make in order to get out of poverty:
1. Start to change your mind. Start to believe you will move out of your circumstances soon.
2. Eliminate falling into the alcohol, drug, tv, chasing girls (or boys) trap.
3. Stop paying for cable, movie theaters, clubs, expensive dates, eating out, etc. Until you get out of poverty.
4. Cook at home to save money, eliminate sodas and beer (to eliminate waist fat).
5. Stop impressing others and stop caring about others calling you cheap.
6. Read free educational books in the library instead of fantasy fiction. Especially the ones that motivate financial success.
7. Surround yourself with people who are going to lift you up and not bring you down.
8. Keep trying. If you fail, try another route. Its better to find out what works now and what does't work now than later in life.
9. When stressed, try exercising. Science has proven its the best stress reliever. (Other than sex)
10. If there is no way out, try joining the military for just a few years to enable you to become independent and get an education for free. This will help you get started into a new life.

i failed many times but I know with Gods grace that's the road for my success.
My friend and someone I used to know tried once and passed from first try, he then wanted to thank me for that yet I played a small part in his life, we had a dinner and I greacfuly/politely,gently refused him. He ofered me to marry him, I said I didn't want to be his wife even though he is so smart and did not fail. I was proud of him and we were friends, I never looked at him that way and I had to tell him that I can not be his wife. He wasn't very happy but he had to accept my answer and the fact that I wanted the ground under my feel and in order to be a full person I will have to pass too, then only he will have a chance to ask this very important question again.
Unfortunately people living in true poverty can not afford any failure. They must play it safe or they could lose the very little they have to survive.
Ellie Mathews Explain ? In this country there is very little true poverty . Just a lot of true laziness or lack of discipline and motivation . Our schools are filled with kids that do not want to learn . They sit there with head phones and dare the teacher to try and take them . Their parents support them if you try . Their backpacks have no books or classroom material in them but plenty of other crap . I have seen kids with free lunch trays throw out the fruit ,vegetables and meats but keep the fries , then buy more fries to get bigger fat asses . You can’t rub a turd and turn it into a diamond no matter how long you try .
Sometimes you gotta move and start over in a place with good opportunities.

This is very true. Also you guys should look into manifesting. I was born and raised in poverty I lived in a car with my mom and sister, since I knew about manifesting from watching videos on it as a teen when CZcams was fairly new, that's when I started my journey 7 years later with MANY FAILURES I have my dream career making 100k+ bonuses per year. Sakeena Khan well been there too!! I’m not doing bad at all but newborns are easy it when they are older and there’s more than one, that’s when things tend to go haywire not when they are small. However when you have a family when you are doing great and that turn takes when there is families of 7 & 8. How do you push back then when there is not already enough because enough has been stripped of you. This is the common. Most people only talk of a fam life of 2 maybe 3 people total but not when it’s whole grand families who have a turn of downs with little people that depend on them. They thought they would not see. Can’t act poverished either for you won’t get help if it’s there.

Julie Hall, thank you for your thoughtful comment. Yes, wealth does not directly equate to happiness. But it does equate to choices: with wealth you can choose. Do I want an education? Do I want to travel? Do I want a house? In poverty, you are very limited in choices even if you can be happy (though many poor people are not). We must not put our trust in wealth as if it were an end in itself. In that way then, riches control us. Wealth must be merely a tool to do more in life. I also believe that there is no point of wealth if not to assist others who are in a worse situation. So in that way, being wealthy for me means I can give more. That is my aim. It is very painful to watch people who do not have shoes or clothes or food or have not been able to have an education because they don't have money. We must help one another. This is one of my core beliefs. (I am a Christian by the way, but I am sure many others who are not also share my beliefs).

Loved this video. It touches my personal life. Not sure if it is appreciate to share my personal life here but I just can not stop. Once I was at the bottom of the funnel. A garbage in a garbage bin. But, I was not as lucky as you. I could not turn back in 8 years - perhaps it took me much more. Anyway, only after a strong self commitment and keep trying no matter what were the immediate outcomes, slowly and surely my situation improved. If you try, your situation may or may not improve but if you do not try your situation “WILL NOT” improve. I learned it in a very hard way. You are right, identifying the successful persons in own field and following them closely is critical. You nailed it correctly. As the high school kicked out at grade 9, I promised myself a big dream. I got it- whatever it was. I was able to take sweet revenge on them who used to laugh at me. Never stop, keep pushing. I used to be homeless for 3 years. I was rejected from many people, many companies turned my applications down, I did not gained any customers but I never gave up. I changed my strategy and I came out of that situation. Who cares if some people treat you like a human being, you should not let them dictate you, only you. I made that choice to keep fighting and keep thinking positive.
