A young boy recently lost his mother. During a fishing trip on Lake Baikal he was separated from his grandfather during a blizzard. The lake spirit "Spirit of Baikal" wakes him from the ice, leads him to safety and helps him deal with his grief. It's a family movie which will be released all across Russia on October 19th. How could it be otherwise than that she sings the song about the spirit of Lake Baikal and of course also embodies it. The Buryat (indigenous people who live on Lake Baikal) sounds and rhythms fit perfectly with the theme of the film and Diana's voice. Her voice sounds warm, primal, mysterious, inexplicable, frightening, but also encouraging and comforting.
Diana's movements are like water, supple, fluid ... and her abrupt, attacking movements associate the frightening sounds of the lake's ice breaking (video below the comment).
For me the eyes are the most beautiful thing. The boy's amber eyes look fearful and questioning, but I'm fascinated by Diana's black eyes. The look is so deep, knowing, hypnotizing.... goosebumps! A beautiful song and a wonderful video. I am enchanted. ❤

Story of the film: Hoping to distract the boy from the loss of his mother, his father takes him to visit his grandfather for winter fishing. But they get caught in a snowstorm and get lost on the ice of the huge lake. The love and mysterious powers of Lake Baikal will help them overcome their grief and find each other. * Lake Baikal is a huge lake (seventh largest in the world) in Siberia in Russia near Mongolia and lies in a rift valley (growth approx. 2 cm/year). It is the deepest (1642 m/ 5387 ft) and oldest lake on earth (25 million years). It is over 620 km/385 miles long and is shaped like a giant crescent moon. In some places the lake is so wide (80 km) that you can no longer see the other shore.
The transparency and purity of the water is unique. Up to a depth of 40 m/131 ft one can see fish, green stones, plants. An incredibly rich and unique flora and fauna arose in and around Lake Baikal.
Baikal is also considered the largest freshwater reservoir in the world - its contents could supply all of humanity for 50 years. Over 300 rivers flow into the lake, but only one river, the Angara, originates from Lake Baikal.
People have lived in this area for more than 20,000 years and have believed in the powerful energy of the lake for thousands of years. Lake Baikal has always been one of the holiest places in Asia.
The local Buryats call “their” lake the “Sacred Sea”. One of the most famous personalities of Buryat descent was the Hollywood star Yul Brunner.
There are many legends surrounding Lake Baikal: a huge lightning bolt is said to have struck this part of the world and cut through the earth down to the groundwater. This water then flooded many valleys and mountains and became Lake Baikal.
An international team of researchers (led by the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Jena, Germany) has discovered the oldest connection to date between the inhabitants of Siberia and the Indians of North and South America. (www)

Thank you so much for that info, amazing. I know that Baikal is also part of the Unesco heritage as it's the oldest lake in the world. Containing speacise that are unic to the lake who was form 25 million year ago, compare to any other lake who were form after the ice age 10 000 year ago.

His grandfather took him fishing, but the car broke down and a snowstorm began. The boy got lost, tired and began to fall asleep on the ice.The spirit of Baikal came to him in the form of his mother and began to tell him not to sleep or else he would die. Then he began to break the ice and scare the boy, he woke up and went to the shore; it was already morning. Вместо "зарубежных" Сирен лучше бы использовать для аналогий славянского *Алконоста (он же -- Гамаюн).* Это мифическое певчее райское существо и Васнецов (в картине), и Блок, и Высоцкий в своих текстах использовали, в коннотации "травит душу", т.е. "пробирает душу" 🙂 Алконост -- радостное существо, Сирин -- печальное.
Нейросеть Сбербанка в 2023 нарисовала обобщённый образ *мифического Алконоста* -- красивенько получилось, лицо -- женское, строгое и сосредоточенное 🙂

Her voice is already cinematic and now add these epic images. I can't wait to hear her voice on the giant theater surround sound speakers. I know my headphones and speakers do not presnt her voice as well as it should. Theres a short reel of her at a radio station singing sitting down and her voice is still epic and bigger the room she's in. Shes got new whole concerts posted from her current tour. Its amazing especially to hear her voice further expand and warm and the polyphonics are beyond description. All wrapped in friendly chatter, humility, and humor. I listen to her everyday

Сюжет этого видео таков: Мальчик потерялся ночью на льду озера Байкал. У него нет сил и он лежит и замерзает. Зимой, в сильный холод, чтобы не замерзнуть, нужно непрерывно двигаться! По преданиям озеро Байкал охраняет его дух. Так вот этот дух видит замерзающего неподвижного мальчика и решает спасти его. Дух (в исполнении Дианы) предстает перед мальчиком в образе его погибшей мамы и говорит мальчику, что бы он двигался, иначе замерзнет насмерть! Потом уже в образе духа Байкала, немного пугает мальчика и он начинает двигаться- это его и спасает! Наступает утро и мальчик выходит к берегу озера, там его и спасают взрослые, которые его ищут всю ночь!

There is no point in translating the lyrics of this song, there is a lot of meaning that you will misunderstand, you need more immersion in Russian culture and traditions. It would be nice if someone very competent did an adaptive translation for you.
That's a great idea! Do you know anyone that would like to do that? How about you? Possibly do a short video of yourself doing a breakdown of the lyrics and I will do another video, adding it in or find a way to add it! :)
It's a pity, but I'm not well versed in the American mentality and culture. I'm afraid that my translation will be close to the text but misunderstood. for this purpose, there are special translators who are well versed in both cultures. I can try to adapt the translation according to the semantic load. but most likely the beauty of the original poetry will disappear.
