Thank you for making the removal so clear and easy to follow. Watched about 5 other videos before this and not one explained it well enough for simple old me to understand.
The part at the top of the gear stick is called a Knurl,
Just got a Corsa and your vids are helping me a lot thanks 👍
Great, glad to hear it!
Thank you. 'Knurled' finish where the knib grips the stick. Replacing my wife's gaiters on the Corsa next week.👍
thanks dude, it helped me a lot for my opel tigra as well took me like 5mins to change it thanks to your tips :D
Got a link to the gearknob used?
Hi george, might be a bit too late for the vid, but thank you!
My knob came with no reverse ring, whats it called? where can I order one?
What are the screw in adaptors things called?
For reference, it says Cruze because its actually for the chevy cruze! its probably the only other compatible gear knob for the corsa and vectra available! Thanks for the vid as this asnswers my suspicion in regards to them actually fitting VX lol!
Good point!
Link for the knob?
Cheers x
Great video
Is there a video anywhere showing taking off the gear knob for the 1st time?
Everyone only shows when it's already off, loosened or the 2nd time they've done it
I'm pretty certain it's called 'cross hatch' ... thanks dude, your videos on project corsa are invaluable to me! I've also got a 1.3 cdti Corsa and have been looking through your videos as I am having trouble getting my car to start after running out of diesel....I couldn't get it started again. As i was on a hill when it ran out, I was getting false readings on the petrol gauge, so i turned it over alot trying to start it. I didn't want to drain the battery completely, so i rolled it down the hill and tried to jump start it, still didnt start. The bottom of the hill was flat and it was only then that i realised there was no diesel in the car. I put in 2 x fuel cans of diesel, but still no good. I have replaced the fuel filter and have bled the fuel system and even tried 'easy start' spray in the air intake....but I have not been able to start the car. Would you happen to have any ideas that might help me get it going????, I personally think that IF i buy a new set of glow plugs and buy a battery charger/starter/booster that might be the solution???, do you think that is a good plan??...
Well, thanks again and I hope that you keep it up and I hope that you might have some ideas for me on how to get this bloody thing going again .. lol ;)
Usually just need to fill up with fuel and turn the ignition on 5 times or so to prime the fuel pump
great video
Textured or frosted ?? Thanks for this vid kind Sir!
Great video!
Thank you Connor!
Can any one link me where to get gear knobs that my corsa sxi reimport please
Great Vid love it .
Ok thanks George for the info great .
Technical name in UK for the grip part is called knurled.
i have a corsa D, however the gear shift knob isnt the same as the one you have. however, i am looking to replace my one with the one you have but not sure if it will fit?
I believe the gearknob and gaiter come together as one on the Corsa D
Hi George nice video. Are you planning on doing a video on just basic maintenance of the car? There's so many on here that aren't explained as simply as yours is. I.e. refilling oil, water, washer fluid, brake fluid etc, checking tire pressure
Cheers mate. If you’d like to me to then I can sure!
Thanks
Yeah great Vid is that the same procedure for my 2003 Corsa 1.2 5 Dr Design
Yes👍🏻
Do you know what kind of diameter this adapter is that you used or do you know the diameter of the shaft itself?
No information on diameter of shaft
Hi mate, video helps a lot, just wondering if you have a link for the gear knob? I need a new one and can’t seem to find one to fit
And also would it be different as I have the 2004 design model?
Same as 2004 mate. Got it off ebay I believe :)
Cheers mate 👍🏼
Try momo
Mate I’m sure your meant to fit the steel adapter you the lever first then push the alloy knob on last and that eBay sticker ain’t the right size. It’s bigger than original ones. That’s why it’s sunk in the middle. Good effort though
How do you change the handbrake lever itself? Not the gator cover.
There used to be one available but unfortunately the corsa c hand break sleeve itself is obselete to buy brand new. I ended up buying a second hand plain black handled lever assembly and installing.
Four bolt from the floor and two though the centre console going going into the sides of the hand brake lever. Undo cable and repeat the opposite way to replace
Good video. The word you're looking for is knurled...
How do I remove the white plastic bit that's stuck to the metal bit under the old gear knob. I have had to cut the old gear knob off and now I'm stuck
It must be glued on or something. It turns but won't budge off at all
Yes the knob is glued on
The "gripy part" is called crosshatchings. And thank you for you video it will help the son in law.
Looked better with the original knob and the new one is loose
A worn old gearknob never looks better
Richbrooke one is nice but it is expensive.
Old one is much more comfortable and fits perfectly
The chinese one he replaced it with looks cheap and doesn't fit properly.
Foot well interior lights tutorial
👍🏻
Have you ever had heater blower issue on your corsa where it only works on number 4? Where the hell is the heater blower resistor
I haven’t mate. I done a complete coolant flush when I got the car and haven’t had any problems.
Have you tried doing a flush?
@@GeorgeAusters wouldn't know how to lol sorry.
Here you go mate How To Do a COMPLETE COOLANT FLUSH czcams.com/video/8WpRiqNE2yw/video.html
jay jones passenger foot well behind some foam
The shaft is knurled
Can i cut the stick shifter down some inches?
I guess it wouldn’t hurt
Just to many adverts
Why fit a crap chinese knob? The other gear knob looked fine and was of superior quality.
Was the only one I could find!
@@GeorgeAusters could you please link me it and maybe somewhere that does a cheap screen please
What the the driver's side on the right but first gear goes outside? True wonders of British preciousness 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Im planning on getting a universal carbon fiber gear knob, will it fit?
Thanks
