    Sharpe looks the most promising and exciting player for Portland.. interesting to see Avdija fit in the starting lineup and twin tower chemistry.
    Hopefully next season we will talk about the Flagg-Avdija-Sharpe trio.

      I agree, If Sharpe can stay healthy I think he will show the most growth. Scoot has a tough job learning NBA, He will though. He will also show vast improvement this year. Kris Murray was very disappointing in summer league. That was not a good showing. Worried about that kid

      @@DrexlerHexlerI just think Kris Murray has made it as far as he is going to go. He has absolutely no heart. Murray seems content just making it to the NBA.

      @@MrPrime80probably he will be packaged with Grant or waived once we receive multiple players back for Grant.. before last years draft i wanted Portland to draft GG with that 23 pick

    If we are not able to make trades, I worry this team will be better than we think. either way I am excited to watch these youngsters grow. Good episode. Thanks

    Thanks a lot for your contribution even in times when there is not much NBA activity. I’d really be happy if you can make a breakdown video of the stuff Deni should work in to become an All Star (can do the same also with Shae, Scoot and Clingan).

    Appreciate your heart and poise, Mike. Your self awareness is inspiring and impressive. The team has already prepared us fans for a down year which makes it easier to stomach. It's weird not having a face of the franchise at this point and for me, seeing who steps out as the leader this year is as important as development and record.

    Thanks Mike, really enjoyed your podcast today. I am excited about the Blazers. I trust there will be some great stories coming out of this season. We have a great gathering of young talented players. I predict at least 35 wins and with some good realization of potential it could be very substantial.

    My suprise of the season pick is Toumani again. He significantly improves as a shooter and becomes a great asset off the bench.

      I think if Toumani develops genital warts it will be a tough 2nd season. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

    Clingan could become an elite rebounder and shot blocker.

      I hope he doesn't catch gonorrhea because that could really set him back. I hope he stays free from STDs because they can make good basketball players become bad basketball players.

    I wholeheartedly agree with your closing segment. We have no idea what this season will hold. Some players will disappoint and some will exceed expectations. There’s no point in trying to predict who that will be, since that defeats the whole point of the expectations to begin with, but the great thing about this stage of rebuilding is that we can afford to focus on the positives. If Jabari doesn’t pan out but Kris does, or if Clingan doesn’t pan out but Deni does, that’s perfectly okay. This team’s goal is to find 2 stars and 6 other playoff-level contributors. Every player that pans out lowers one of those numbers. I’m excited to see which guys prove they should be part of the plan

    In terms of unknown I think that if Deni gets the keys to the team and the coach lets him initiate the offense Deni can become a 20 ppg guy + flirting with a triple double every now and then

    Would love to see a video on who you think the Blazers' best trade partners are coming up. My money is on Spurs, Bulls, and Pistons.
    I could see a three-team trade where Blazers send their vets to Spurs to get a bunch of picks, including the CHI 2025 protected pick, and then give Bulls something to make that '25 first unprotected.

    • @scottwickett1273
      @scottwickett1273 Před měsícem +1

    I think you haven't looked at what Deni is trying to improve this off season.
    Deni is mostly on working on his shot creation, spot-ups, and his dribble. Deni is looking for an increased role offensively, working not be be just a role player.

    Conspiracy theory: Blazers are keeping their older core because they aren't yet convinced by their young core and want something to pivot with if they don't pop.

  • @zachemmons5354

    I think a lot of people are setting themselves up to be surprised, good or bad. Listen, the only reason this team only won 21 games last season was due to injuries, integrating a new starting center, Scoot having growing pains learning the NBA game, and then tanking after the all-star break. The Blazers have improved the roster with Deni Advija, and this team is shooting for the playoffs, or at least the play-in.

    • @coreyfoxx8285
      @coreyfoxx8285 Před měsícem

      They tanked. People think the franchise is just that bad going forward - which is hilarious but it’ll be fun to deliver surprises.

    • @ScoobyDoobyDoo4444
      @ScoobyDoobyDoo4444 Před měsícem

      Since they are rebuilding, I am hoping for another 20 win season. 'Surprising' fans with an 8th seed would be a bit of a disaster. Blazers would owe their 1st round pick to Chicago and short-circuit the rebuild during a strong 2025 draft class. Blazers started the rebuild because the team topped out at a 1st round playoff loss team or a blow-out in the 2nd round at best. So I want to see a team that can do better than that, not celebrate a team that scrapes their way back to mediocrity and a 1st round playoff exit.

    @perrybarkhurst1997 Před měsícem

    trade scoot.. cant make threes, misses layups, turnovers, YES it was year 1 - but be real, at best we expected to see hope and promise from the guy and saw none... of course he wont be traded so its just my wishful thinking but year 2 will be just as pathetic and then his trade value will be zero. Thats why all you who want to trade ant are nuts...

    • @scottwickett1273
      @scottwickett1273 Před měsícem

      Then why would anyone trade for him?
      (They can't trade Simons unless they are willing to bribe someone with draft picks, probably.)
