Welcome to another episode of The Build ! Today we have @chrisforsbergracing And his absolutely insane Nissan Z. This is the first modified Z out in the wild, and I had to share the story behind it. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Ok.. so it's got a GTR motor in it. That makes more sense. I was about to say.. dayum.. car only been out for a month and someones figured out how to get 1300HP out of it already! Jeezus! lol
Z engine is from a Q60 which has been out for a while now.
@@CorgiOnStilts_ Thanks for that. I just assumed it was a completely new platform. Still can't wait to see what sick builds will be done with this car. So much potential!

And hoping the dealer doesn't screw you with markup cause demand will absolutely be high. I just paid my car off so I'd like to live car payment free for a year or two before jumping back into them payment waters lol.
@@DarkMikaruX nah in Australia we don't have arrival date or pricing yet. Fairly confident one hasn't even arrived in our country yet.
Not having a car loan hanging over your head is a great feeling man. Hopefully the Z will be worth the debt. Only time will tell.
This channel definitely deserves more for the quality and work!

Hats off to you sir. That incar footage at 12:10- is by far the best POV shot that I've seen so far when it comes to video and audio quality. Brilliant video.
The highlights are literally blown out and clipping throughout most of the shot. Quite poor video exposure settings if we're being totally honest.
I can nothing but totally agree with you. It was so intense for me to watch it. I had a feeling like I really, I'm mean really was sitting in that specific car! II know it sounds stereotypical, but the camera says it all in my opinion..Great job from all of the people who were involved!

Great video! I Love Foz & his FD friends! Hes soo chill. When he & Turk get together its mayhem!
What blows me away is their ability to not only drive but wrench & build the cars!! F1 has paid drivers as does NASCAR & others. Just wished that more $ was available for teams to hire drivers & relieve some of the pressure off Foz & others. I know Papadopoulos has a driver but from what I know, hes the exception.

That turbo sounds soooo good
I’ve read the new Z motor is not closed deck design so it might be difficult to build one to over a 1000bhp and be dependable. So it makes sense to use a GTR motor especially for the high stresses of Formula Drift.
1000 would be too much for the Z imo. id like to see high power builds in the 800s.
Give it time people will figure it out.

Car looks great - crazy great setup - GT-R engine - this thing cost some dough-re-mi - would like to know OIL brand @Chris Forsberg uses - my fave on Earth is AMSOIL. Versus drifting would like to see this thing actually "race" - great video !
I think the "Tron" led outline design for the sport would benefit in safety and cool factor maybe in watch-ability for the sport.

Is the front fender largely the same as the stock on the upcoming Z? If so, I'll have to remember to get a wrap or paint job that is going to utilize a black to separate the front grille from the rest of the front fender. This one looks greater, but the stock Z I'm seeing online don't seem to have nearly as nice of a fender.

The 400z stock comes with the same engine as the Q60 but the formula drift 400z is engine swapped with the same engine as the r35

The VR30 is hitting about 1000HP with AMS test mule but its reliability and consistency is still up in the air, buuut we shall see the VR30 is about to get
a lot more love with the Z just around the corner.
BMW B58 hitting over 1000whp, king of the hill of 6 banger motors under 40k used for bmw 340i/240i with B58
@@Areku06 You aren't getting a B58 for under 49K new and lets be real here 99.99% of the community isn't tuning to that point even among the after market community.
Both engines have similar limits and prices up till around 530-550WHP.
@@BigHeadClan you can get used 2018 bmw 340i under 40k with 15-25k miles almost new. B58 with stock turbo maxed out around 500whp but with pure 800 turbo it’s about 750-800whp, big boost turbo can get you to 1000whp with upgraded fuel pump and some meth or e85.
@@BigHeadClan you may as well get 2017-18 bmw m3 and beat 99% of vr30 cars for under $49k stock. If you do FBO that’s about 650hp stock turbo. S55 is hand built, closed deck engine that easily handle 650-700hp daily on stock turbo. S55 is most reliable used m3. It’s probably best sport sedan for the money on used market and it looks incredible.
@@Areku06 Then your comparing apples and oranges, the 340i is a very different cars dynamically and the Z/Supra are a much better sports car and starting point in terms of performance.
You are also comparing a new car vs a used car in a few years you can probably get a used Z for a fair bit less than a 3-series. (Pending on demand/and popularity naturally).
Again the VR30 has similar limits , although you do need a few extra supporting mods to hit 700-800WHP for the VR30, but your spending thousands less up front so total cost works out to be around the same.
End of the day though majority of people modding their cars are tossing some down pipes and a tune at these for around 450-500WHP and are just going to enjoy it.
As for the M3 its a bit closer in purpose and a fantastic car (M2 is more my thing) but again used vs new and you're spending double what a used Z is likely to cost.

You just confirmed buying the new z is pointless if you expect to make big power. By swapping the motor.
Im pretty sure an engine swap is due for most vehicles when you want to hit 1200 hp. Besides those few holy grails that come with the swaps from factory
I would say where the Z shines is really the chassis. It was understandable to swap the VR but LS would be the move in my opinion.
@@cooliecrewspeedshop VR38 is just as capable as the LS. Built billet VR38s have seen upwards of 4000hp.

Anything over 400hp is big power if you plan on driving anything other than a straight line, but most Americans can't figure that out so they chase 1000hp to play right foot go vroom vroom on highway.

But why replace the engine? Why not take the VR30 and bring it to the limit?
I think this is a much more interesting project because it opens the door to new mods for Nissan Z and Infiniti Q50/Q60

dont think there is support yet for higher hp builds plus to be competitive in FD you need 1000hp+ so if hes running 500hp while others are running double his hp then hes just going to lose. Plus Forsberg has been using the VR38 for years why change engines now?
