- Today I had a once in a lifetime find inside this dusty old barn, I dig through 70 years of accumulation and junk and come up with some treasures... and maybe my best barn find yet!

Am I the only one who thinks this video is so fun because Alex knows what he's looking at? His knowledge is amazing. How he could see the items he saw in what some people would call "a pile of junk" is truly astonishing! I had so much fun just trying to see what he was able to make out so easily! If you ever see this comment, Alex, thanks for making us all a little more knowledgeable!! - Jenn
I'm impressed too with all your knowledge, Alex! But what about those shoes? Wow, when you mentioned tetanus shot, I hoped and hoped that didn't presage a foot injury.
Thanks Jenn :)
I was told there wasn’t much left so
I just dressed for a little walk around… I was wrong!
@@CuriosityIncorporated OMG! wonder what they think "a lot" looks like!!!
@@northernerinnc3179
He wears those shoes quite often.
Comfy easy on easy off.
I love them but they surely aren't safety shoes.
Alexander!! You could step on a nail in your Vans! Steel shanks and toes are what you should be wearing. Sorry, I just stepped on a lot of nails in my day. One almost killed me. I had gotten blood poisoning in my foot! Luckily my Mom saw the red line running up my leg, and rushed me to the hospital. After grinding out the infection I am still here to watch your awesome videos! Thanks for all of them ! ❤❤❤
Steel boots, working gloves, protection glasses.. even a dust mask.. need to be prepare, no summer shoes for sure…
I would grab stuff with extendable « claws » to reach out
Was thinking the same thing. Should have worn better shoes and driven his own vehicle. When picking through junk a person should not have to worry about messing up someone else's vehicle.

Thanks for the scolding KAREN. What you do best.
Alex, I don’t think I ever heard you so excited as you were when you found the Hudson sign! 😊

D timers hid. Money and valuables there
Never heard him so excited either haha!! 😆
I just got to that part of the video and said the exact same thing.
The other day, I was at a Goodwill store in the PNW of Oregon and found a Bronze Statue by Loet Vanderveen numbered 3 of 750. I will be getting it appraised, and the pieces that have sold from auction houses that were numbered in the hundreds sold for close to $5,000. It is amazing the item you can find when you are not looking.
You’re excitement makes me happy!
Wow wee....the Hudson sign!! Mint condition too!
Your voice @19:12 . I have NEVER heard you so breathless with excitement. It was felt through the screen! I'm so happy for you that you decided to keep it! Well deserved 😊
Great video!!! My grandpa was a farmer and had several out buildings full of similar goodies. When you lived through the depression, you saved everything! Terrific find with the sign!!!🥰🥰🥰
Never tossed anything. Out
He was a hoarder living through the depression or not so sad 😢😢😢😢
@@sueojeda5712 not nessaceraly, hording is a compulsive act however in a remote isolated environment you can't just hop in the car run to the store and spend cash for a screw or a bolt or a piece of metal.. ok yes you could buy your time when the store is 2 hrs away your gas wear and tear on your vehicle and down time on whatever you are fixing isn't worth it if you can take 10 minutes walk to a scrap pile grab what you need and get back to work. Every old farm or ranch had or has "stuff" it wasn't always a disposable world like it is now.
I love these searches through old barns etc.
That HUDSON sign is GORGEOUS ❤❤❤ ESPECIALLY since I live in Hudson Falls
How exciting! In all the years I've watched you, I've never heard you so excited as when you found that sign!!
It never ceases to amaze me how an old dirty rusty can, can be worth so much money. You sure know your stuff. That Hudson sign is an awesome find and mint condition no less! Thank you for taking us along.
The man who lived there must be a remarkable person. You are lucky, Alex, to have experienced a part of him.
"Everywhere I look there's something to look at". A classic line if ever there was one.....:)
Alex it is so much fun seeing you find treasures. I love your boyhood excitement over a Hudson sign!
What a great adventure. The excitement in your voice when you saw and talked about that sign. Love it!
So glad you avoided those moose.
That Hudson sign is crazy special in that condition. The old ford truck definitely worth pulling out of the field too. I know it's discouraging when you find something you can't buy. Whoever buys that place if so inclined could probably get angood chunk of thier money back between treasures and scrap. It is alot of work though. Need a good pair of steel sole boots and carhartt for your junk pile gymnastics. Thanks for bringing us along!
The challenge is knowing which items are worth risking life and limb to salvage and try to sell, vs the items that are nothing more than scrap. I seriously doubt the new owner will possess the knowledge Alex has. Probably will either haul it all off or hire a crew to do it for them. Sad he had to leave salvageable items behind. But I'm glad he found a few treasures.
@@rachelh5211 These days everyone has access to Google lens. Knowing alot is certainly helpful. The fact that the future owners emphasized thier intrest in the stuff makes me think that they very well may have plans to go through it. Everyone is broke these days and everyone is looking for extra money.
I have never heard Alex more excited than when he found the perfectly preserved Hudson sign. Congrats, the old Ford tire cover is a cool find too.
I hope you left your number for the new owners of the farm.
Now you need to find a Hudson to park under that sign. A great pick from a massive accumulation. Glad you survived torn jeans and a near miss with a moose patrol. 😮
I love what you do and the freedom that comes with it. Wish I would have followed my dreams - too old now. Thanks for the journeys.
Old advertising is always a great find!! Great picking Alex!!
Thanks Bob!
Hey BMB great to hear or see you in the replies. Hope all is well. Have an awesome Christmas season.
Dusk mask, hard hat and safety shoes. Hmm. Alex you are so loved. 😊
Merry Christmas Joan. Things are going okay for me.
Lol at the vans shoes you’re wearing. Keep some boots with you!!! 😂
That Hudson sign is mint, doubt it's ever been outside in the sun. Awesome find.👍❤
Having no bullet holes is a very good thing!! Great sign Alex!!
NEVER seen Alex so excited! Congrats on your awesome find!!!
Same. And been watching for a while!
Alex is a frigging thief and has no right to be on that property with that pair of outlaw escorts with the closing in two weeks.
So glad you kept the sign. You deserve the treasure! ❤️🇨🇦
Hi Alex! Leave it to you to find the treasures in the trash. That mint Hudson sign is quite a Christmas present. Can’t wait to see it in your garage. Enjoy! 😊
Alex it's so lovely to hear you get so excited about a barn find again! I could hear your pulse increase!! 😃💜
That sign was patiently waiting there all those years for you to find it ! Amazing
Glad you found stuff but these old barns scare me to death, they look like they can collapse any time, not to mention varmints!! Stay safe Alex!
So happy for you that you found that wonderful sign! I love it too !!
Always disappointing when someone tells you that you can pick anything then starts adding caveats. At least you got the one VERY STELLAR HUDSON porcelain sign!!
The piece outside the shed on ground is a transmission for a Ford tractor. Possibly 8or 9 n . Their was a Coleman stove next tire kit you picked up. A fortune inwire in the shed.
That sign is really cool! Very nice.
That sign was waiting for you Alex. Congrats ❤
Congratulations on that sign!! Wow!!
I wish they had called you out months ago. I hope it all doesn't end up destroyed.😊
I’m so glad you are keeping the sign. It’s like money in the bank now!
Love these types of videos! The excitement in your voice when you found the Hudson sign was the best!! Better than Christmas morning. Thank you for taking us along on this adventure!
Oh my lord Hans would have hay day there picking all the wires out of there
That old Ford Shortbed pickup is sweet. Theres a ton of valuable stuff there
Basements, attics and barns are the stuff of nightmares for me…too many critters! But, it was super fun watching your excitement over finding the sign and I’m so happy that you kept it!
I would definitely come back in about a week or so american pickers' style and make some offers on some stuff to the new owners.
Since the Hudson sign is double sided, maybe suspend it from your garage ceiling with a couple of small chains so both sides are visible.
The old Ford truck would make a great project.
This was one of my favorite videos in a long time. I love the adventure.
Oh wow, so good hearing the excitement in your voice .. 😄
So much fun seeing Alex so excited about the Hudson sign!!! 😍😍
I really luv Alexs appreciation for just about anything under the sun similar to me with old Johnson & Evinrude outboards ,LOLL!...Glenn
Great Adventure! Fun to tag along! Awesome Find!! woot woot!!
Congratulations Alex🎉 really exciting that you found that fantastic sign!
I love these type of picks. OMG we can hear the excitement in your voice. What a great find in that Hudson sign. What would that be worth? So happy you are keeping it for your collection.
Man, that Hudson sign is so cool. Congrats on the find.
Congrats great find. Every time you go to one of these clean outs you seem to find something great.
That hudson sign is cool.
You’re a brave man digging through all that stuff. Good one again.
Thanks 👍
@@CuriosityIncorporated You need to wear some decent boots Alex
I think its great and so does Mrs. Alex, Im sure that he has at 500,000 extra moms to tell him to be careful. Magnificent.
The entire crew from CWM's & Strong's Garage would show up with pickup trucks and haulers if they were invited😁 Scott would love that Hudson sign and Miles would scarf that MOPAR cabinet up in a blink. Amazing stuff buddy.
That Hudson sign is a real honey super find, congrats. I was wondering if this was the trip where you had an "incident" on the way home. Yep, sure was. Glad you and your friends made it home.
I'm 74, born in Ohio, USA. My dad had a Hudson. Tina, Al's wife
Geez. I sure hope that those old John Deere parts can be saved. Those are very valuable to some people.
That Hudson sign is stunning!
Who knew that an innocent pair of Vans could properly goose the CZcams engagement algorithm? The world is full of yentas.
That said, maybe someone could offer you a teevee show so the CZcamsless world could watch you go through places like that. (Oh, wait...what?) Yes, I've placed my bet on which streaming service it's going to be on. 🙂
That Hudson sign was probably acquired by the uncle right after Hudson went out of business in the early 50's. Just something sitting at the dealer's storage waiting for a new service department that never happened.
Love the sign Alex❤ You had fun till the moose adventure.😢😊
looks like a ton of Josh treasures.
That was such a fun video. Gotta love the safety shoes. 😂. Be safe out there. Thanks for this
I sense another cleanout coming. The folks buying that place are going to need you Alex.
It would defiantly be a worthy series for this channel !
@@urbanurchin5930years of content to clean. Out
I’ve been lucky enough to get permission to dig through old buildings and houses several times. It’s so much fun but you also need to protect yourself. And animals are hardly ever a problem but their poop dust could definitely be.
I would never want to leave that property! I'd risk my life in those buildings LOL. Congratulations on the sign dude thats pretty epic
It was totally worth it!
I’m halfway through your video and I desperately want to see that cat. lol.
That Hudson sign is amazing!! Wow!!
I know right. I have never seen that one in such good shape!
Alex, may I ask why you didn't grab the "new old stock" John Deere parts that were stacked in their boxes? They looked like something that could be worth $$.
Thanks for taking us along on this adventure.
You have a keen eye for antiques, very nice.
I do think you should have safety boots on when clambering around farms and out buildings.
I saw a vintage Snap-On tool chest and a nice looking anvil in the workshop that weren't mentioned, but maybe they were among the items that are to remain with the property.
that beautiful sign you found could be worth more than 10,000 Canadian dollars but in a really good auction that can fetch even more it is the best sign I've ever seen and I've only seen two of those signs and the one that sold for 8,000 had rust spots on it wish you all the luck on selling that sign
Thanks for the info!
Smaller Hudson enamel signs in much worse condition go for $4000+ USD to the right buyer / at the right auction. I doubt a totally mint one like that has ever come up for sale, so it's a guess what it would sell for, but north of $5000 USD for sure. Totally priceless treasure. Considering that Alex got his start in collectables on signs and oil cans like that then it's very cool for him to keep it. (And wait for the right offer to present itself ;) )
I once had the thrill of being able to go thru a huge very old barn full of stuff. At least 50 years worth of stuff. What fun that was. Found some really cool antiques.
Funny thing is in the USA these properties are a dime a dozen and usually have WAY more stuff too. It’s pretty cool Alex found one here in the North.
I neeeeeeeed that truck. That thing is minty fresh. What an awesome hunt.
As a metal scrapper I'd be in heaven!!
Congrats on finding that sign, Alex! What an amazing pick!!
What an amazing place!! I can only hope to be able to walk a place like that one day. That sign is beyond belief and I am so glad you hung it in your garage. It is going to look fantastic on the wall. Thanks for taking us along on this amazing pick!
I hope he can hang that sign somewhere it can be viewed from both sides.
Wow! You should have brought Josh and Jakota and a a few trucks to fill up. And you really need a to-go bag or bucket with heavy boots, gloves, masks, crowbar, hammer, and screwdrivers in case you come across anything you need it for.
Congratulations!!!! I loved hearing g you sooo excited !!!
Wow! The Hudson sign is a beauty! Stellar find! Congrats!
Bet Josh would have loved going thru it also
Was wondering if this was the Moose Incident trip!
Happy you found a sign you love! Def a scrappers paradise.
Am I the only one who hopes that Alex can go an interview the man who lived at that property like he the woman from the Potter's House? ♥♥♥
Wow. That sign is amazing
Wow seems like your weather is pretty good Alex. Nice for December eh?
It’s been crazy! Rained tonight
The Hudson sign is so cool!
❤❤❤❤, get so excited when you start going through this type of stuff.. love it
I could easily spend a whole day at a place like that. Love it.
Again,not bored.Thanks.
Congratulations on your exceptional find!
Alexander,
A sign like that one sold at auction for 7,000 dollars U.S.
Way to Go!

FuN FuN fUn as always! Wear boots next time Alex! So happy for you about the beautiful sign. 🥰
