No, Hamilton and JLC made these watches independently using the same case design patent (in fact the patent was neither a JLC nor a Hamilton innovation). However JLC sued Hamilton and after a three year legal battle Hamilton withdrew the Otis.
I'd really like a Reverso Duoface. Any version of that would be great. they are probably the most elegant way of handling a second time zone I know of along with giving two different looks in one watch.
I just picked up my first Reverso last week - a Classic Medium Small Seconds. I've been a long time admirer of the Reverso and it exceeds all expectations. The level of finishing on the case and dial really put my Rolex and Omegas to shame really. An absolutely stunning piece of horological history and with the right strap it can be dressed up or down.
you convinced me, i now have to buy reverso.I absolutely loved this video! The positive vibes were contagious, and I found myself smiling and feeling inspired throughout the entire thing. The editing was fantastic, and the message was so uplifting. It's the perfect pick-me-up for anyone who needs a little boost of positivity in their day. Highly recommend!
I absolutely LOVE my JLC Reverso Memory two tone! I know the size is small for my 8" wrist at 23mm x 38mm. I also have a Reverso Tribute with the 2 faces, blue and white that is the large size. Honestly I really like the smaller size better than the large. Bring back small watches!!
@@okihaveaname new from AP to have the warranty and shit since it was my first... Didn't want to try to figure out of it was a fake or anything. Used the desperation of covid to get like 35% off and hand delivered by the AP himself
I have the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Memory Ref# 255.5.82 that is same size as this one. I have had it for about 2 years now. At first, I definitely thought it was a little too small for my 8" wrist. HOWEVER, after a few months, I have grown to absolutely LOVE the size of mine. I did purchase the new Reverso Grande ref# 3988482 - 2 face with the blue face and white face in steel. THAT watch is one of my grails. But the smaller Memory seems to flip over easier and smoother that the steel version. I admit the Grande fits my wrist better, but that Memory is just wonderful!
I love my J-L Reverso Grande Taille, which is my everyday (though non-grunge) wearer. It's stainless, i.e. not gold, so it's possible to make that argument -- just. The blued steel hands I learned to appreciate from Brequet. The silver, wave-pattern guilloché dial face just never gets old. Its only complication is a small seconds to tip me off if it stops. The armband has been showing its age lately, so yesterday I went into town for a replacement. When I got back home, my partner asked if I'd been successful and how much it cost. "I'm not saying," I told her. "But of course this is a top-notch, luxury brand, so just take what you'd expect it to cost -- and double it."
Well done, I first fell in love with the Reverso in my 20s, managed to get a reasonably priced stainless steel handwound version in my 50s. Definitely worth the wait.
Always liked the JLC Reverso (and Cartier Tank) and finally managed to get a Reverso Grande Taille (stainless steel with dark blue alligator straps). As a stay-home-dad after the pandemic :) I am happy to wear it with my track suits. Keep up the good work ;)
Omega reverso(in steel) ? Hamilton reverso? Reverso TT1931 US? What about the TT1931 Thai (yellow dial) and UK (green dial)? Reverso Chronograph retrogade? Reverso Sun Moon? Reverso Day - Date? Reverso TT Small second burgundy? Reverso 101?
Reverso News: I am the commander of the Reverse Owners Liberation Front (ROLF). We own the 1931 Tribute Moonphase with exhibition back. Keep up the good work.
I think i found my new grail watch. Initially i was obsessed with divers for the functionality of it but i never owned a dress watch nor do i have one in a square/rectangle shape. The reverso is something I personally do not see many people wearing where I’m from; I live in a beach town hence my preference of divers. I think this will be something i buy for my own 30th bday
My favourite Reverso is the one you already have. Simple Arabic dial with no complication. Perfect. If your going to add another how about a double? But before that ,FGS, get at beard trim!
Had this playing on a second screen. At 1:30, I was like, woah that was fast. You got me lol. Question about the your reverso, did yours come with a deployable clasp? Any suggestions on solid bands that aren't 250$ + that taper to the right size (for the JLC deployable clasp specifically)?
I have a Reverso Grande Automatique in steel, and have a couple aftermarket straps that are 20 to 16, that fit the JLC double fold deployant. One from Crown and Buckle, Pebbled Pear, and Marbled Calfskin from Hodinkee. Both look great with the Reverso, 150 and 100 bucks IIRC. Pretty easy size to find, I think.
Oh yeah, while at it, check out the Omega Marine 1932, or cartier marine 1932. Or the cartier asymmetrique, or Vacheron Constantin with veil cover. Or my ABSOLUTE FAV Reverso à Rideau Venice which I've handled in person (tho too long, the lugs hanging on my wrist)
So there's another Reverso you didn't mention that is my grail, but because it's hard to find, until I get it, mums the word. I am concerned to hear that having one Reverso just leads to wanting more, but I suspected that...
Happy Happy Happy.. I love the Tissot vintage watch i bought off the Time Teller Shop..SeaStar Visodate PR516..Thank you..Jory. P.S..Just another watch junky..
Well I bought the brand new Seastar last year and I really liked it so when I found this vintage one for sale I had to have it like it was the other watches dad you know it's a watch addiction thing but yeah thanks guys it's a lovely watch man
Happy birthday! Nice review! Reverso might be considered as a dress watch but its very versatile - white tshirt, denim, a reverso and you're good to go.
My own first luxury watch was bought for our 5th anniversary. A Nomos Tangente 41 Update (with the innovative date indication). Love it, though since TT doesn’t like German watches, I think he will never discuss it!
Wow! Well done! Very exciting to see these versions of Reversos! How can I find these the ultra thin pink gold with the chocolate dial? Please let me know! Thank you!
The fact you wear one with a wrist size that is similar size to my own has made me think I could get one. I have always said that it's not a watch for me as it is too small, but you wear it well. Belated Happy Birthday! glad guys with a decent sized wrist can wear a Reverso.
31! Congratz. Love the reverso’s, allof them. Well not all. I think the red one looks like a stamp on a holiday card. Sorry. All the others? Whoop whoop, gotta catch em all
The Timeteller is always using the little grey cells, no? Love all those JLC's....I think the Salmon Dial would be my go to.....maybe I just want sushi....🤔. Damn it!
Question from a newbie. Looking to buy a nice business watch. I saw the jaeger master control with blue numbers. And a different dial called maybe a “sector dial”. Is this a limited edition? How many made? Could you review it. Not much out there but I love how this watch looks. I love your videos.
Greetings!! Would like to know if you would go for Medium or Large for the Reverso Classic Duoface smallseconds. I have a 6.6inch wrist, both medium and large sits well but i just cant decide
Hey time teller. Could you do an in depth review of the JLC Master Control sector dial? Want to purchase it for my husband. Such a beautiful watch for under $10,000. Is it limited run?
The JLC you have is the only one worth having with one caveat,It should be steel.Stainless steel is much harder to work with and gets harder if allowed to get hot during machining. It's not the price that makes it a to die for classic, but the exquisite design....................
That salmon dial is awesome. IF I was going to want one it would be the dual face. The Reverso is a sport watch only for the 1% club. Anyone not playing polo in an exclusive club wears ispt as a beautiful dress watch. It is beautiful, just not for me. These days, dressed up means one of my nicer rugby shirts.😱 my ‘dress watch’ is my SMP 2531.80.😇

Hi, Jory. I love JLC's and an Ultra Thin Moonphase SS is dress watch in my collection. I don't own a gold dress watch and since I already own a JLC, I'm in love now with a Lange Saxonia Thin 37mm, rose gold, silver dial. To me, as simple as a watch can be, but with a perfect finishing. What are you thoughts. Should I go for it or do you think there are better options? Thank you.

The Time Teller in 2 years: "My 10th reverso... Was it worth it?
Lennart Martin ,also the time teller in two years ... “Sorry if I’m not looking at the camera, I can no longer see out from my beard”.
I was gonna say "My top ten reverso's for 2022", but I'm going with your comment.
Hamilton made a “Reverso” under JLC license from ‘38-‘40. Exclusively for the american market, It was called the Otis.
No, Hamilton and JLC made these watches independently using the same case design patent (in fact the patent was neither a JLC nor a Hamilton innovation). However JLC sued Hamilton and after a three year legal battle Hamilton withdrew the Otis.

But then wouldn't you forget which face shows which time zone?
@@22Sangre never forgot on mine. Side with the lume, is the 2nd time zone for me. Side without, local time.
I have a grand reverso duo face. Have had it since 2011, and has remained my favorite watch in my collection.
Do you flip it to the dark face in the evening?

Reverso Grande too big for me, too. I like a dress watch small and sharp. Classic proportions.
Reverso + Moonphase = Amazing

Regarding salmon dials, Montblanc offers a few gorgeous ones. They are doing a good effort the last few years.
The note on not starting a watch collection is 100% true.
