    IMPORTANT NOTE: As of the patch on April 3rd, 2023, the Chicken Racing exploit has been patched, making it a sub-optimal way to grind out money. You're better off either farming and selling ginseng or selling weapons and extraneous materials from grinding out the dungeon.

    • @Kagetora-
      @Kagetora- Před rokem +5

      Honestly, after it was patched, I just farmed 3-20 for the 20 ryo clear reward and selling the weapons/equipment you get from that dungeon.

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +9

      I found that to be the most effective way as well, plus you're knocking out two birds with one stone since you're going for materials on top of getting the money.

      @@sexyninjagodking1909 Blessing can be gotten from the Divine Dragon Emblem. Purgatory, or War God Amulet. Sword Seal: Fierce Deity is from Murasame. That's super unfortunate to hear, I was nearly in the same situation as all I needed to craft were the special weapons and the Amon sword. I grinded out all the seals as well in the process of getting footage for the video and the patch added the seal drops in the dungeon which was unfortunate (well, fortunate but I had spent a few hours getting them just hours before the patch dropped so it was essentially wasted time). I can't imagine getting all the seals without this knowledge, at that point it's just brute forcing. Thanks for the support!

  • @Tyrranis
    @Tyrranis Před rokem +21

    There is some more information that you might find interesting.
    You can actually get Bundle Blades for free from most street fights. In the Swordsman and Gunner trees, there are abilities that have a chance to disarm your opponent. If you manage to disarm them, you can go over to the sword on the ground and pick it up. For most enemies it'll be a Dull Bundle Blade, but you can get more advanced Elemental swords from sword-wielding Golden Sneaks (they'll still be Dull, though).

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +8

      Yup! That's a useful way to get them if you're low on cash. I personally find it too tedious to disarm them and money is abundant through Chicken Racing and Dungeons (be it from doing the dungeons or selling equipment you get) and the weapons from Sneaks, like you said, are Dull quality so they aren't good. Definitely a decent source of money early game though, a Juzu-maru sells for around 5 ryo if I recall correctly. Thanks for the input!

    I made a joke with my friend how I will not buy ishin Kiwami but holy hell I’m genuinely contemplating skipping it for real. I wasn’t necessarily the biggest fan of the original but I liked what I played. It was an ok novelty playthrough and it was a great stepping stone into learning how to obtain Japanese only games so it was special on that regard. Extra special for the fact I got on my birthday.
    I sincerely try not to skip any Yakuza entry if it’s within my power to avoid doing so, but this doesn’t seem worth it. I’m also not interested in gaming as I used so I think I’ll wind up waiting for a big sale or for it to come to game pass/ps extra, if that ever happens. Until then, I am more than happy just waiting for gaiden and Y8. Y7 Plat was immensely satisfying and got me excited for more.

    I wanted to make a seal guide from my own findings (based on Igni's too), but gave up halfway because of how hard it is to actually explain it, so kudos to you for actually putting it through.
    Also wth, the original had a cool minigame for it. It reminds me of Dragon Quest XI's forge system that's probably by far my favourite crafting system in all games I've played. Such a shame, truly...

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +2

      Igni and I did a lot of work together on figuring this out, he had to brute force a lot of it though since he got an early copy and I got mine on the pre-order date. It took a while to figure out how to put it into words, but I'm glad it helped (wish I got some credit on the PowerPyx guide since they use some of my wording but whatever)

    • @kaiserkreuz4155
      @kaiserkreuz4155 Před rokem +2

      @@ItsAllstarBrose likewise, I preordered it so I could get my hands on it sooner, and if not for you two (especially Agni's google sheet), I'd have bruteforced it as well.
      I do find it fun to craft when you know how it works, but it's more grindy that it has any right to be (but I redid Judgment for my PS5 platinum and Ishin Kiwami's seal travesty is still less bad than the drone racing tbh.)

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +1

      I'd rather do Drone Racing but I completely understand, it's one of the few things that makes me not love Judgment as much as the other games. The crafting system in Ishin is like one or two steps away from being an okay system, it almost feels like they want you to gradually build up your arsenal over time but with the focus on the dungeon for materials, it doesn't do it very well in my opinion. I feel they should have spread the materials out more or drastically lowered the amount needed for the system to feel better (the increase in drops as of the patch is an alright fix but it's a bandage to a self inflicted wound). I still feel they 100% should have kept the old seal system, so I don't think the way it is now could be recoverable other than maybe adding seals to the Shinto Priest's shop.

    • @kaiserkreuz4155
      @kaiserkreuz4155 Před rokem +2

      @@ItsAllstarBrose Yeah, honestly the grind is real for the materials, and redoing 1-1, 2-8 and 3-20 over and over for Sturdy Lumbers, Aquamarines and Dragon materials respectively (especially pre-1.04) was painful to say the least.
      While I understand the variety of weapons being a selling point, it is ultimately useless as the meta will be to use elemental weapons and gear with most free seals to be able to make the most of damage outputs, so it does feel dumb to have all these weapons that will go unused, especially the Last of the Dragons that ends up not being as good as Murasame/Okanehira. Also not gaining virtue while crafting is very annoying.
      I compare it to Drone Racing in the first Judgment because while getting the parts isn't as grindy, getting the time attacks require some RNG as well (the bystanders right at the turbo gates killed a lot of my runs.) Thankfully it got toned down in LJ.

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +3

      Thanks for watching! It's quite unfortunate the game doesn't explain any of this on top of it being so complicated. Ishin's plat was already super time consuming so all these changes just add on to the time.
      For your pistol, either the Dragon Hawk (like in the video) or the Vortex works depending on what you value more between needing to apply fewer Double Shot seals or faster fire rate and sudden onset Fibromyalgia. The Pierce seal is near mandatory for pistols since it lets you damage armor much more efficiently. Other than that, yeah Double Shot and Change of Heart are super nice.
      For the sword, I recommend the Blade of the Shogun with (of course) Change of Heart at the very least. I personally have a Bewitched and an Elemental seal so I can heal for 20% of the damage I deal, effectively making my health near infinite (you could also apply those to your pistol if you want but it's not worth it in my opinion since the BotS has an innate Elemental seal). Other than that, it's up to you. Special Attack seals are nice to reduce heat usage on R2 attacks, Greed and Experience are solid for grinding, basically just don't apply more damage increases since damage caps out at 3000 for all weapons.

    1) Do I need to save again after I craft the Keen blade?

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před 11 měsíci

      1. Yes, you should save after crafting the new Keen Blade. Saving after crafting it means your new seed is locked in so you're no longer getting the same results from the old seed.
      2. In that scenario, if you've saved after crafting the Keen Blade the third Stonecarver will have the seal. What you should do is save after crafting the second Stonecarver after the Keen Blade so you can farm that one weapon for different seals.

I have a question: I've been hearing conflicting opinions regarding the usefulness of loading greed seals on weapons for farming items, and I've just gotten around to crafting my weapon. One question: I'm trying to make a Quickfire to get Double Shot, but every time it gives me Attack. For weapons with multiple seal possibilities, is the result random or locked in to a specific seal per seed? Basically, will I need to start to start another seed to get Double Shot?

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +1

      Correct, you'd need to start another seed. Whatever seal is on the weapon when you craft it will always be there if you reload the save. You can try crafting other weapons that can have the seal as well but if none of them have it, either craft something else for a different seal you want or reset the seed. Golden Sneaks also drop Double Shot uncommonly and I think one of the dungeons has it as a drop as well.

    The chart and also other guides say that you can get it from Spirit of Japan, Sakura Storm, Morning Gale and Cherry Blossom. Now the only problem is that none of these weapons have empty seal slots with the exeption of Morning Gale. So if I want that Seal in question I have literally no choice but to craft that one single weapon all over again?

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem

      I had a similar experience, On the Brink took me ages. Those weapons *can* have seals on them so long as you craft them as a higher quality. I believe a blue one should have one empty seal slot and a gold should have two. As stated in the video, you can improve the quality of the weapons by using hammers above Iron quality, so simply craft up the lines (two Silver Hammers will turn a weapon from white to blue to gold after upgrading) and you'll be able to farm those weapons for the seal as well.

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +4

      It's definitely a struggle. What I'd recommend is just finding two easy to craft weapons that are really good. If highly recommend the Blade of the Shogun and the Vortex, the materials are easy to get from a few runs of the dungeon. Toss a gold pierce seal on both of them for that bonus armor damage (those are really easy and consistent to get from Stonecarvers) and you should be fine, anything else is extra. In terms of gear, a Purgatory with an Awakened seal is super useful since it means you won't get stunned a lot of the time.
      You definitely don't need to fully engage in this whole system to play through the game casually at least, but it can be super overwhelming to look at. Just look at the equipment one piece at a time and work from there and don't obsess over seals. With the increase in item drops as of the patch, they should be dropping relatively consistently.

      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před 7 měsíci

      From information other people have come up with, it seems the type of hammer you use doesn't matter and instead it's the total slots you get from the hammers. An efficient way to get two slots would be to upgrade the Bundle Blade with Silver Hammers twice so your Stonecarver has two slots. You might try this but unfortunately there's no sure-fire way to get seals other than using this method or getting weapons from the Battle Dungeon that have them.

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před 5 měsíci

      I used the Repentance Seal a.k.a. "Change of Heart" which increases your damage based on the virtue you currently have. You only need a single Seal applied for 1% of your virtue to be added to your damage, so I have a metric ton of virtue from selling plates and weapons. It's incredibly useful and downright breaks the game but it has an immensely low chance of being slotted onto a weapon when crafted as well as from weapons dropped in the dungeon. I believe the spreadsheet in the description shows some weapons that have it but I don't remember.

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +1

      For your weapons, I'd recommend the Blade of the Shogun and either the Dragon Hawk or Vortex - Dragon Hawk if you want to apply fewer Double Shot seals and Vortex if you value faster fire rate and carpal tunnel. For seals, a Change of Heart seal on both and about 3.2 million virtue should max out their damage at 3000, at least one Pierce seal on your pistol so it can deal damage to armor is super useful, Bewitched and another Elemental seal on the BotS means it'll be healing for 20% of the damage dealt. Other than that, maybe just buffs to heat (particularly while drunk to maximize heat gain), Special Moves for reducing your R2 attack heat loss, and Experience or Greed seals for if you need those for grinding.
      For your gear, I'd recommend the Divine Dragon Emblem, Purgatory, and Violent Wind Gauntlets for the most empty seal slots possible. Obviously you want Blessed to max out defense at 2000 on each piece (I don't remember the virtue required but I'm guessing it should be around the same amount), at least one Awakened seal for the stun resist chance, Special Moves as I said before, Virtuous is nice for maxing out those virtue gains, and Experience again for more grinding.
      Basically, just ignore things that give you tiny buffs like flat attack or defense increases (not percentages), tiny resistances (all of the elemental resistances are basically useless), and the ones for buffing your cards (I think Corporal *could* be good, but it'd require a lot of them to make your corporals better). I personally don't recommend the low health ones since being at low health doesn't benefit you in this game, plus their buffs are overall marginal at best.

    • @ItsAllstarBrose
      @ItsAllstarBrose  Před rokem +1

      Golden Sneak farming is a pretty decent way to farm seals but it's not consistent, since they have a pretty big loot table. I'd definitely recommend it if you don't want to bother with RNG manipulation but as far as I know, you can't get every seal from them. I grinded a few hundred of them and off the top of my head I never got Reversal, Durable, Change of Heart, Blessing, Madness, Fierce Deity, and the sphere Special Moves seals. I very much could have been unlucky but without looking through the code I can't give a definitive answer on what they drop.
      In terms of stacking seals, anything that has a percentage chance like Double Shot, Reversal, and Awakened should be able to be maxed out at 100% so they're always in effect. All seal percentages are additive, so having two maxed out Elements seals means you're getting 150% extra elemental effects (since each give an extra 75% when gold, this one is effectively potent when combined with Bewitched). Blessing is another good example of it being additive, each seal stacks so you'll get an extra 400% virtue from praying with each gold seal applied. Combine this with multiple Virtuous seals to get some massive virtue gains from prayer (I'd still recommend selling hammers from chicken racing or weapons from the battle dungeon for virtue though).

      You don't need that many seals maxed out, filling out the slots on a headpiece with max slots is fine enough. You don't need Kiwami Hammers to make your equipment the Best quality (for most pieces of equipment). As I explain at 1:25, all the hammers past Iron increase the quality of the weapon, you can gradually increase the quality. For example, if you want to get a Best quality Dojigiri, you can use Bronze Hammers on each of the swords before it to increase the quality by one each time. Unfortunately, some pieces of equipment (like the swords with special circle moves, the two Wooden Gun paths, and all of the head gear you craft directly from the White Headband ) don't have enough items in that upgrade path to get to Best quality without using Kiwami hammers, so that's the one situation where you'd want to use those.

      I wish I could give you an exact answer as to how to fix your problem, but it's completely valid to be frustrated by everything. Here are a few potential clarifications, hopefully one will help you.
      1. Are you loading directly before the weapon that should have a seal? If so, are you using the same hammer that you used to initially get the seal when manipulating the seed? I know I said in the video the hammer shouldn't matter but the system is super funky and can be inconsistent so that might be part of the problem.
      2. Are you resetting the seed by crafting something without a seal slot? When you don't, the seed just continues on so you can't manipulate it.
      3. Are you crafting something with an open slot? If the item you're crafting has an inherent spot (one with the seal locked in with pins) it can't get a new seal. I'm not sure if crafting these progresses the seed or makes a new one however, so if you're crafting these in the process of trying to manipulate the seed, I'd recommend doing what I said and crafting the line of Bundle Blade -> Keen Blade -> Stonecarver.
      I hope one of these potentially helps! If not, please comment again and I can try to help you out. If you do, it would be nice if you added more detail as to what you are doing so I can maybe tell you what you can change to fix it.

What can happen instead is if the equipment has an inherent seal like Pierce, Raging Flame, On the Brink, Reversal, etc, it has a chance to be slotted into one of the empty seal slots when you craft it. When a seal is in one of those open slots, you'll obtain it as a material when you disassemble the equipment. The complete list of seals you can get and apply/enhance on your gear is shown at 3:03.

    I discovered this by crafting High Revolvers with silver hammers (1 empty slot) and Iron Grinders with iron hammers (1 empty slot). Both gave me the same result. However, when I used a blue High Revolver to craft an Iron Grinder with an iron hammer (2 empty slots), I got a different result. Chicken racing gets you a ton but it's time consuming and incredibly luck based (I have a video on it explaining all the mechanics) and now that the exploit to guarantee a win is patched, you're gonna be doing a lot of save-scumming. Koi-koi just requires knowledge on what cards you need but the AI can be brutal sometimes. Thankfully if you quit out of koi-koi, you keep the tags you bet so you don't have to worry about losing. Cho-han can possibly get you good tags if you bet on the difference of 6 (if i recall correctly) and continuing to bet against the dealer, but it's a base 1/20 chance for those two dice and then repeated coin flips as to you doubling your tags. It's not particularly hard, it's one of the grindiest games in the series with little to no reward for doing the 100% (the only one that's worse is Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise). Between unsatisfying substories, boring minigames, tedious friendships, unrefined combat, and the second worst grind in an RGG game, there is very little to enjoy about the 100% process. I'd recommend 3, 4, 5, or Dead Souls if you want a fun, rewarding Yakuza 100%.

I underestimated the completion process of 3-5 at first, thinking it’d be a mix of tedium and above average content like in 0, JE or LJ (or outright bad like in K1-2, 6 and LP’s case) but I was immensely satisfied with the game within a game I kept uncovering and how rich substories were. They really kept on giving and if more people invested in them, it’d be a lot easier to explain part of the real appeal of this series.

      You do need to collect and apply at least one of every seal in the game, on top of crafting all weapons. Some seals are very frustrating to get as well (such as the Reversal seal) since from my experience, the only way to get them is through seed manipulation. The recent patch alleviated some of the harder to get ones like Greed, Experience, and the Square Special Weapon seals, but the vast majority of others took ages to get through seed manipulation. Off the top of my head, Reversal, Crush, Awakened, both "On the Brink"s, Madness, and Bewitched were a nightmare to get from my experience.

I guess the main point was to prevent people from just cheezing the entire game with endgame weapons and unlocking all dojo moves in the highest difficulty but Idk, I’m barely in chapter 2 or 3 I think in my first play through, so far I don’t hate it but I guess completing the game 100% including weapons would be extremely difficult, good thing it’s not my focus.

      The only reason the game is as grindy as it is is because they want to keep players playing as long as possible. This is the first game in the series with such an immense grind so I feel it's inexcusable. You can easily cheese the game by putting a single Pierce seal on a decent pistol anyway, plus the vast majority of moves taught by trainers aren't particularly useful and/or are super deep into their respective skill trees. I can't see any justifiable reason for the game to waste the player's time like this, especially because the content within isn't engaging at all.

One thing I might suggest is letting the seed progress *without* savescumming, I'm still not totally sure how seals work within groups but I noticed a pattern where certain pieces of equipment get the same seal every time I try for it so progressing the seed should stop that from happening.

The only thing I can think of is they wanted it to be more of a grind since the whole crafting system is generally more of a grind than the original when you factor in the money cost as well. The original way was way better and more satisfying since it's simplistic and the gamey aspect of applying seals was kinda fun.
