    This part just... sort of hurts, because when you grow up and start trying to process trauma , you start to recognize your old coping mechanisms. And, like Naruto does here, you just have to accept them, recognize that they were useful and necessary for your past self, and move on without dwelling in the past.

      This precisely. I wish this waterfall existed in real life, so that people could find closure, acceptance, and peace. I’ve found that meditation is the closest thing to this imaginary waterfall. This scene extrapolates on this idea even further, because Naruto went through much worse than I did and what others went through, so looking at him argue with his dark self, as we, the viewers, know both sides, is both haunting and sad. “It was always so hard and painful, i am the only one who will ever trust you.” God…

    I'm realizing I gave up on myself when the good I did for myself started being for approval from others. I gave up on me. I felt alone and worthless for so long. Until my thoughts became me. I'm at rock bottom from my own doubts. This brought me back to when I refused to give up. I realize that all the pain the world has put me thru doesn't have to be all there is. Naruto was my biggest influence as a kid. Turns out he still is. I have to trust myself, believe in myself and love myself because no one else can do that for me unless I do it first. This show should be a spirituality or belief system. It helped so many lonely, hurting kids and it still helps the adults that lost their way. It's not just a cartoon. As a child this show taught me right from wrong when no one else did. Some of us were treated like monsters and had no family. Some of us have seen the pain the world attacks us with. The villains arnt even wrong. They just gave up. It's really all about not giving up. The second we give up it's over. We need to keep going thru every barrier because if not...we will become just like the villains in this show. Bitter, unhappy, vengeful and hurtful.

Like fuck, the flashbacks to his childhood throughout the series basically portray the entire village abusing a child, and I just can’t forget or forgive that. Some of the villagers did accept him of course, Ramen Guy being a real one and Iruka turning around among others, but still. The villagers only like and accept him because he has shown value, not because of who he is. At least at that point. That’s just messed up.

    @zerosen1972 Před rokem +2

    I really hated this scene because it doesn't ever really address the issue of Naruto's feelings towards the villagers. It feels more like Naruto suppressing his negative emotions about everything he's gone through instead of dealing with them. It's presented to us as him accepting Dark Naruto but the way Dark Naruto reacts to Naruto and his nonchalant attitude really makes it seem like he's just tucking those emotions away back inside himself. It's not convincing in the slightest.
    That's how Naruto got through most of his life - numbing himself to all the negative feelings towards others treating him poorly - and because of this he would naturally have been upset when people who used to tell him to die suddenly changed their tune and started treating him like nothing had happened. For once he could doubt himself and really examine the feelings he kept locked away for so long and possibly even think about why he wanted to be Hokage in the first place.
    The Nine Tails Arc was a great opportunity to explore and really develop Naruto as a character but it wasted the effort. Naruto doesn't come off like a person with real feelings or emotions. He becomes an ideology machine and just spits the same crap out for the rest of Shippuden. It's a travesty.

    • @fredrickalonge1339
      @fredrickalonge1339 Před rokem

      He does deal with his emotion. Instead of resisting or suppressing it, he decided to forgive those that hurt him and accept his emotion/past. He knows bearing hatred within won’t serve him. This is a imperative scene that shows Naruto honestly address the hatred he has been suppressing/concealing most likely subconsciously all that while.

    • @zerosen1972
      @zerosen1972 Před rokem

      @@fredrickalonge1339 If he truly accepted those feelings the Nine Tails would have nothing to draw on. He constantly flashes back to those memories of being treated horribly and refuses to let them go. Once Naruto got over his desire for revenge with Pain it wasn't brought up again unless Nagato was involved, so why not this?
      It's because he's a kid who pushes those feelings off as a coping mechanism. If Naruto really dealt with his emotions like you said then he wouldn't need to constantly revisit them and wouldn't hang around people who consistently treat him poorly. It's extremely unconvincing to say the least.
      Naruto has a really bad problem with not acknowledging that negative emotions exist and how to properly deal with them. It's what made dealing with Sasuke so difficult. His strategy is to force those feelings aside and stay positive regardless if it's proper to do so, and this creates a wedge with others because he forces his approach on everybody around him. It's this issue that always ends up in him having to beat them until they submit.
      Naruto just doesn't feel like a flesh out character when you lean heavily on his trauma for 300+ episodes and then never have him deal with them in a meaningful way. If they can do that with Sasuke then they could definitely do that with Naruto.

    • @fredrickalonge1339

      @@zerosen1972 So accepting your past/emotion doesn’t then make it non-existent; it still happened and he will still have memories of those moments. He just decided to make peace with what happened and move on. He has acknowledged those feelings of sadness, hurt and lonliness a couple of times e.g. to sasuke, Gaara. Besides, you don’t expect to be whining all throughout the show. Can’t recall him ‘constantly’ revisiting those moments. After he conquered his hatred, what he battled with next was kurama’s hatred (i guess that’s what you’re referring to). Who treated him poorly? And Sasuke, to be frank was a difficult chatacter to deal with ( although, its not his fault).

    Why didn’t dark Naruto bring up the fact that the villagers only ever cared after he saved them? That their love is shallow?

      Well my friend
      naruto never choose the wrong path
      No matter what happens to him
      He always walks the path that he believes.
      If you are a naruto make sure you also do the same make sure to not fall to the wrong side
      Ignore society
      They don't have any work except barking
