  • In this MTG video, we are going to take a closer look at the powerful Machine Head deck. This deck is all about getting big bad threats on the board asap and fight your opponent with pure strength 💪
This video is made by Emiel the Blessed and narrated by yours truly. Find out more about Emiel and his thoughts behind the construction of this deck on his blog, edge-man.com/2...

Cool video. Maybe make it a tad longer with some deep dive deck technicalities.

I can't comment on the deck as I don't play the format but the video was pretty cool, nice stuff.

Just 9 threats and no Counterspells? I think it would have difficulty against many decks. Would be interesting to see it in action.

You should read the blog for more info (see vid’s description). I think he wrote a little about the actual game play.

Interesting deck. Why is it called Machine Head?

My guess at this stage, knowing Emiel, his deck and a little about his MtG background, is that he tried to convert the 2001 Tom van de Logt Machinehead Type 2 World Champion deck from the Toronto World Championship into an oldschool deck.

@@thesolitaire8369 Ah OK. Thanks. With a name like machine head I was expecting robots.

@@mattstrott753 One would indeed, but the 2001 Type 2 Machinehead deck was a deck heavy on utility creatures and spells wiping the opponents board and stripping his hand, and in that way constantly putting down pressure. The name could very well be derived from the band Machinehead, who plays a pretty up-tempo kind of music, which seems in line with the style this deck wants to take control of the game by keeping up the pressure
