THE OTHER GUYS MOVIE REVIEW | 30:23 - 31:51
The Other Guys Movie Description:
Unlike their heroic counterparts on the force, desk-bound NYPD detectives Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) garner no headlines as they work day to day. Gamble relishes his job as a paper pusher, but Hoitz is itching to get back on the street and make a name for himself. When a seemingly minor case turns out to be a big deal, the two cops get the opportunity to finally prove to their comrades that they have the right stuff.
The Other Guys is a 2010 American buddy cop action comedy film directed by Adam McKay, who co-wrote it with Chris Henchy. It stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, Ray Stevenson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Dwayne Johnson.
This film is the fourth of five collaborations between Ferrell and McKay, following Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), and Step Brothers (2008), and followed by Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013). The Other Guys is the only one not to be co-written by Ferrell. It is also the first of three collaborations between Ferrell and Wahlberg, who later reunited in Daddy's Home (2015) and Daddy's Home 2 (2017).
The film was released in the United States on August 6, 2010. It was well received by critics and grossed $170 million worldwide.

Great reaction!
This was made back when Hollywood still had balls and was unafraid of pushing boundaries. The entire entertainment industry needs to go back to basics, stop taking themselves so seriously, stop being afraid of offending people and go back to producing pure entertainment without using it as a platform for social conditioning. I've completely given up on postmodern entertainment from corporate Hollywood and have started to support independent creators who are unafraid of pushing boundaries in this hypersensitive society.
He definitely has a funny side
I suggest Michael Keatons Multiplicity or Birdman. Mr. Mom too. Great comedic performances. Also Bettlejuice.
@@joey_dangerously yes all of those
Damn MellVerse, you are knocking movies out one after another!
I have never laughed so hard as I did when the rock and Samuel l Jackson jumped off that roof to their death
Same for me the first time I saw it.
Me and my homies still use the phrase "Aim for the bushes?"😅
"Thanks for the eff shack - Dirty Mike and The Boys" gets me every time.
There goes my heroo!!!
Fell out of my chair the first time I saw that.
I love Keaton's delivery when he screams "He's dying!".
Same! It cracks me up every time 🤣
Good news! The new bath mats are in.
"Hey, shake your dicks off. Pissing contest is over."
@@Donofaquarius😂😂😂😂😂
Also there’s a serial rapist in Crown Heights
one of the most underrated movies of all time
Is it really underrated?
@@connorolita5342 came here to say the same. Maybe underhyped, but the movie is a good, fun movie that does what it does.
Underrated though? Probably not
@@connorolita5342 Yeah, I think it is underrated. I think it is up there with Young Frankenstein and that echelon of comedy movies.
@@connorolita5342 underrated for sure
Underrated for sure. The critical and audience reception at the time was lukewarm at best, but it's become a bit of a cult hit since then.
Keaton actually started out as a comedic actor. way back when people were worried he was going to mess up batman, which was his first serious role. You're seeing him returned to form here.
#Beetlejuice #Beetlejuice #Beetlejui... Eh, actually, I'd better not...
Night Shift was a good movie
Mr Mom is a fantastic, early Keaton comedy!
I miss him doing comedy. He's one of my favorites.
Not just a comedic actor. He actually started as a stand up comic. You can hear stories about him from other comics in the 80s
I remember actually watching this when it came out in theaters. I laughed so hard, and my face hurt by the end..... "aim for the bushes? There wasn't even an awning 20 ft near them"
The man crossing the street and continuously looking up at them as they fall is an extra detail that just slays me every time.
(Plus Christinith chasing them also *20* miles also makes it even funnier.)
"...or we're gonna throw your ass in the Federal Reserve!"
"He still doesn't understand the concept." LOL
One of my all time favorite comedies!
"Aim for the bushes?"
**fist bump**
**jumps off building**
**DIES**
No bushes anywhere is sight😂😂
I love the running joke with their lieutenant always quoting TLC songs.
The greatest feeling in the world is re-watching a film you saw you were 10 and discovering it’s even *better* than you remember
You should not have watched this at 10-there are few comedies to go to after this.
@@jerrylouis8930 It's PG-13. Most 10-year-olds are fine to watch it
@@_the_rizzler What else are they going to watch at 11? Everybody wants to jump in the fast lane, and run out of places to go by the time they are twenty-five.
@@jerrylouis8930 There are several great comedies. You'll never run out
@@_the_rizzler You won't really get these kinds of sophisticated notes in everything else. This is a late comedy and shows references from earlier things that resonate a bit better once somebody has seen earlier stuff. Over fifty year olds had never seen anything like it.
When Mark saw Will's wife for the first time 🤣 He was expecting her to be Unpretty.
My favorite Eva Mendes character by far.
Bye Sheila! Shut up Terry!
Come on...seriously? 😆 🤣 Enough of the TLC references.
"Aim for the bushes?" one of the best lines in a film ever
"You learned to dance like that sarcastically?"
my favourite line in the movie. 🤣
Michael Keaton was actually in a lot of comedies in the 80’s and early 90’s. Got to check him out in Beetlejuice. He is absolutely hilarious in that.
Beetlejuice is such a legend!
"Johnny Dangerously" Someday hopefully, Mel may not get the references to some of the gags, but it'd be great to see!!
@@richardrobbin2225 yes. Since he did Top Secret..he needs to do Johnny Dangerously!
Dream Team is a good one! Also has Christopher Lloyd in it
@@ambersheene7507 it is
Mark Wahlberg said in an interview - where he breaks down his most famous roles - that when he gets into a character like Terry Hoitz, it's hard for him to stop or slow down on staying in character. Adam McKay saw no problem with that at all. So Mark really did his fair share of carrying the movie with the rest of the cast and crew. Also, your laughter is contagious, my dude!
It really reminds me of his character in boogie nights when he he gets into the fight with Jack Horner
Michael Keaton is hilarious. He started out as a comic actor before Batman, other comedies like Mr. Mom, Gung Ho, Beetlejuice & Johnny Dangerously.
All great comedies
I wish he stucknto his guns, but im.glad he didn't because this role made me go "hooly fuck I forgot he's funny as shit" lol like all I saw was batman in this movie then I'm dieing
M U L T I P L I C I T Y !
@@freethepig she touched my Pepe Steve
He started as a stand up comic
I love this movie. I’ve hoped for years they would make a sequel. Keaton killed me so much reminding me of his Beatlejuice days. I have to admit after the few times I saw this movie I never knew there was a post credit scene. I may watch to again soon just for that.
Me either! I was like "what post credit scene"?? Now I have to watch to get the full effect of the joke.
"Aim for the bushes?"
"This ain't Assassin's Creed!"
I'm dead!
One of the more underrated comedies of our generation. You have to remember, Old School came out in 2003, and it feels like the same dudes have been making us crack up hysterically forever.
“I’m a peacock you gotta let me fly!” is my favorite quote. You gotta react to Daddy’s home 1 & 2 with Wahlberg.
"We will construct a series of breathing apparatuses with kelp."
“Gator never played no shit!”
Wahlberg is a dooche but he’s very underrated in comedic roles. He was also great in Ted
@@hiqdozey6368 Also,”Gator’s bitches better be using jimmies!”
@@pillar81 almost forgot my favorite one “I always got little River band loaded in here, I got 6 disks in here”
Michael Keaton started his career in comedy films. That is why he is so good at delivering lines.

Everybody knows you don’t mess with Jeter. He’s a biracial angel!
Definitely an underrated movie. One of my favorites of Wil Farrell. This movie, Anchorman and Step-Brothers (#1), oh, and A Night at the Roxbury 😆
I'd add Blades of Glory to that list. Bog The Other Guys to me is the best out of the bunch.
The other guys might be the most underrated and underwatched comedy ever, imo
Gotta check out Talladega Knights
@@TheAustinKendall I do like Talladega Nights and think it's funny. It's in my top 5 Wil Farrell movies, just not top position 😁
Land Of The Lost was very funny.
"Can you imagine where you'd be in your career if you didn't shoot Derek Jeter?"

The whispering fight scene gets me everytime😂
I wish that scene was in this review 😂😂 thats one of my favorite scenes
“It’s not Cpt. Jean, I don’t have a kiddie show” takes me out every time 😂😂😂
I'm so glad you included the scenes of Terry visiting Francine at the ballet class and the art show. Such an underrated film.
This movie is Gold lmaoooo so many lines I quote from this 😂😂
“He’s dying!!” My brother says this to me all the time.
"you learned ballet sarcastically?" I thought you were doing "The NIce Guys" but this is good too :)
This is a super underrated flick, one of my favorite comedies.
I watched this movie on a whim a few years ago. It was so much better than I had thought. Funny as hell.
I loved this movie, At the time Michael Keaton hadn't done a big movie in awhile so was so pleased to see him back and reminding us of how easy he makes comedy look
One of my favorite movies of all time!! When I need a movie to lift my spirits this one does it every time. So glad you reacted this!
Everyone did his job but mark was on another level he actually out performed this role.He was actually living in that cop world 😂😂 appreciated.
Captain Jean is without a doubt the most underrated character in this masterpiece of cinema
fun fact: Will Ferrel actually sings in Irish pubs from time to time and what he says about the songs in that scene are true. They are real songs, depressing but they are rich in Irish history and culture. "Erin" in the songs is another name for "Ireland", they are also very patriotic songs. Mark Wahlberg knows his ballet moves because it was required training from when he and his brother Donnie were in the boy band "The New Kids on the Block". All that being said... I LOVE the soundtrack in this movie.
The dialogue is 99% of what makes this movie so funny. The physical comedy is good too but the dialogue is TOP SHELF.
I really love this movie, I wish there was a sequel
This is my personal favorite of Adam McKay/Will Ferrell’s hysterical collaborations. And, hell yeah, Michael Keaton is quietly the funniest person in this movie!
I still use “aim for the bushes” with my friends when we’re doing dumb shit
Such an underrated comedy!!!
Definitely one of the funniest comedies I've ever seen 🤣
I watch this a couple times a year to help my get through the really hard times and it helps 🙏
This is one of my favorite comedies. It gets funnier with age.
Yes! One of my low-key favorite movies. Your comedy reactions are easily your best.
This move is G O L D E N. Bless for the reaction.
Just about died when Mark started dancing XD
Love this movie and the fact they pulled off so many of these scenes with straight faces at any point is incredible. I want to know how many takes each outrageous line of dialogue took. I bet this movie has a lifetime of bloopers and just unusable film bc of the cheesing and case of the giggles. Incredible film and very under rated.
Probably never suggested, so we'll see who shows up to give a like. "Field of Dreams.". Last week has me nostalgic.
Please! Please!
I remember seeing this at the movies and the scene with the grand-mother sharing personal "notes" between Farrell and Mendes had me literally crying.
Michael Keaton is so versatile from Beetle Juice to Batman the man can do it all. Great choice and reaction Thank You
Michael Keaton is the king of fast talking while making it funny lol. Thats how he made Beetlguese so funny.
One of my favorite comedies of ALL TIME. So underrated
Now you have to watch the Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling & Russell Crowe
Michael Keaton came from comedy. People were actually up in arms when he got cast as Batman because of it. But back in the mid-80s he was all comedy. Mr. Mom. Beetlejuice. Night Shift. Gung Ho. Dream Team. Johnny Dangerously. They were like how is the funny guy gonna be Batman? lol
Nice...you watched the extended edition. One of my favorite all-time comedies. Still can't believe there hasn't been a sequel.
This movie is so underrated 🤣
When Rock and Sam Jackson jump off the roof I died laughing. That's one of the dumbest scenes in movie history but it works so well
"You're Not that Guy!" You're the Other guy.
Beetlejuice is one of MK’s best. He’s the only actor who can play that role (except maybe Jim Carrey). Anyway, you really should check the movie out if you haven’t.
Beetlejuice is a classic. Love that movie lol.
I liked him in night shift. His first major role.
1984 Johnny Dangerously.
Michale Keaton interrupting the fight is one of my favorite scenes. Man managed to yell silently. Seriously funny guy. Glad to see him back in his natural habitat
The women coming on to Will Ferrell, and Mark Wahlberg being mystified because of it.
Michael Keaton started in comedies. He's awesome
OMG this is one of my favorite movies. my brother and I always quote "Aim for the bushes?" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
This whole movie was hilarious. I really hope Will Ferrell and Adam Mckay decide to make a 2nd one.
This movie is freaking awesome. I died laughing the first time I saw it. 😂
This movie doesn’t waste a single line. It needs a 2nd and 3rd watch to really appreciate the script. All the ridiculous subplots. It’s amazing how much humor Adam McKay packed into this movie.
Such an underrated action comedy. Hilarious and actually has a good detective story.
This is honestly one of my favorite comedies of all goddamn time. The scene of them as they are recovering from the bombing at the mini mall never fails to make me LMAO.
“HOW THE HELL DO THEY WALK AWAY FROM EXPLOSIONS WITHOUT FLINCHING IN THE MOVIES THERE’S NO WAY. I CALL BULLSHIT ON THAT. REMEMBER IN STAR WARS WHEN THEY ALL FLY AWAY AFTER THEY DESTROY THE DEATH STAR, THAT’S BULLSHIT.”
I remember showing my mom (who was a nurse) that scene when he screams “I NEED AN MRI, I NEED AN MRI, I HAVE SOFT TISSUE DAMAGE, THERE’S NO WAY I DON’T HAVE SOFT TISSUE DAMAGE.” She laughed harder at that than any comedy that had come out in the last 10 years.
I really hope this channel blows up - you deserve it, really enjoy your videos!
“Aim for the bushes.” Bahahahaha!
Michael Keaton is awesome.
I remember seeing this in a pretty packed theater during opening weekend and it got lots of laughs for sure. A real nice vibe that evening.
One of my fav comedies of ALL time. Glad someone finally reacted to it. Can’t hear Fresh Start without laughing
"Once Upon A Time In Hollywood"!
One of my favorite movies. Seen it probably like 20 times 🤣
You didn't know Michael Keaton was funny? He started out on comedy sitcoms like Mary Tyler Moore and Maude. His first movies, Night Shift, Gung Ho, Johnny Dangerously and The Dream Team were all comedies.
Fun Fact: His first acting gig was on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood in the mid 70s as a Flying Zookeeni Brother. He was also a producer.
Yea it was him and David letterman and they stayed close friends ever since.
Michael Keaton has starred in several great comedies. My favorite is probably 'Multiplicity'.
Lol thanks for the eff shack!
We call our night crew "dirty Mike and the boys"
The Good Guys with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling is hilarious too.
You mean the nice guys?
@@Swagdudeproductions You are right. I just forgot the name of it.
Without a doubt my favorite Will Ferrell movie. They need to make a sequel.
Michael Keaton steals every scene he is in.
This movie is a pure definition of over the top, but overall in a good way. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Michael Keaton started his career as a stand up comedian.
the writers on this were amazing
comic gold
I love how at the funeral, Michael Keaton has to pull dudes into his path, so that he can angrily shove them out of the way
I’m so glad you got to experience the joy known as The Other Guys!😂Lol
"You know what they call that? They call it a SOUP KITCHEN."
"Thanks for the F-shack."
- Dirty Mike & The Boys
I remember being down and* tired when i watched the scene where Highsmith (Samuel L) berates Gamble (Ferrell) despite his ridiculous attempt to bootlick his speech, i almost choke on my laugh 😂
My wife and I LOVE this movie. We quote it all the time. "Aim for the bushes." It doesn't get the respect it deserves.
A Classic. Period.
Michael Keaton started out as a stand up comic
I've never seen this version! Your reaction was priceless! Love this movie. I've watched it so many times that I start to giggle before the funny parts
My friend and I went and saw this in the theatre and laughed all the way through, but for some reason the line about thinking toothpaste was astronaut food (I think that's what they say - it's been awhile) put us both over the edge 🤣🤣
This film is hilarious!!!!!!!!! Brilliant choice Mellverse your channel is freaking awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I nearly died laughing watching the rock and Samuel L Jackson jump off that building first time I watched this movie. It kept me up most of the night giggling afterwards XD
Gotta check out the true story, "Pain and gain" starting Mark Wahlberg and The Rock. Too funny.
Michael Keaton's delivery on the TLC lines are pure gold.
Awesome reaction video. You're probably the first person I've heard the appreciate the way they did the bar scene. I thought that was incredible myself.
Thanks for the laughs bro. Needed it those morning. Mellooooooooooooooo!
Michael Keaton is Beetlejuice of course he funny lol 😂💯
