For the past eight months, my companion on the road has been the Honda CB350. While I've tested its mileage on various occasions, I've never taken it for a dedicated 300 km ride mileage test. Recently, I decided it was time to put the CB350 through its paces and see how it fared.
The route I chose for this test was a mix of highway stretches, city traffic, and even a hill climb. With a pillion rider and 15 kg of luggage on board, the total weight on the bike came to approximately 150kg. Throughout the journey, I maintained a steady speed range of 60 to 70 kmph, ensuring a mix of speeds and gears to accurately gauge the CB350's performance.
My chosen route was the Mumbai-Pune Highway, known for its decent road conditions but peppered with numerous speed breakers both in the city and on the highway. Despite these challenges, the Honda CB350 proved its mettle, delivering an impressive mileage ranging from 40 to 44 km per liter.
By the time I completed the 150 km one-way journey, the CB350 had consistently delivered an average mileage of 42.4 km per liter. This level of fuel efficiency is truly remarkable for a 350cc motorcycle and speaks volumes about Honda's engineering excellence.
The Honda CB350 not only excels in fuel economy but also ensures consistent performance across varied riding conditions. Its ability to go the extra mile on less fuel makes it an ideal choice for long rides, where fuel efficiency is paramount. Meri honda highness 30 ka bhi average nhi de rahi h city me, aur highway par 35 bhi touch nhi kr pati. 3500+ km chal chuki h. Service se phle city me 35 ka de deti thi. Service k bad hi average gira h.
Sudesh ji, apko agar sirf 30-35 ka mileage mil Raha hai, to mai dave ke sath kehata hu ki apke bike chlane ki method me sudhar lane ke jarurat hai. Kyonki, maine 14 Apr ko highness ka ek bar fir se 267 km mileage test kiya hai, wo bhi tank full to tank tull petrol ke sath. Bike ka Avg speed rakha tha 70 aur mere alawa 40 kilo boja bhi tha bike lar. Mai khud 75 kg hu. Aapko yakin nahi hoga par mujhe 44+ ka mileage Mila hai. Jab ki bike ka Trip-A Avg 48 kmpl show kar raha tha. But unfortunately, wo video shoot karte samay mere GoPro ka mic adaptor loose hone ki wajah se 80% awaj external mic se record nahi ho payi. Sirf start aur end ka voice record hua, isliye mai wo video dal nahi paya. Par Mai fir se video banane wala hu, jisme us video ki bhi clip jodunga jisme 44+ ka mileage Mila. Mai jald hi ek aur video banane wala hu ki aap highness se 44 ka mileage kis tarah le sakte hai. Aaa Subscribe karke rakhna taki video dekh paye.

Aur last sawaal aapse, meri bike second service ke baad se thoda slow lagne lagi hai, matlab same power ke liye zada rez dena padta hai mujhe aisa lagta hai, lekin achanak se jab fuel low jaata hai (reserve me), ye problem hatt jaati hai and bike wapas furteeli lagti hai. Kyu hosakti hai ye problem? Ekdum dimaag khaa rakha hai.

(1) Kitne speed par konsa gear lagana chahiye, ispar maine ek video post kiya hai "Ideal Gear Shifting Method", please use dekh lena, aapko bohot accha idea ho jayega.
(2) Highway par best average ke liye 70-75 speed range me best mileage milta hai. Mai is range me 44-46 ka average nikal leta hu. Waise Highness ka eco mode 85-90 speed tak on rehata hai, eco mode me bhi achha mileage milega, par 70-75 is the best range for max
mileage.
(3) 3rd baat jo aapne batayi hai ki 2nd service ke baad bike slow lagne lagi hai, aur Reserve me ane ke baad furteeli lagti hai, jyda race karni padti hai !! 2nd service ke baad to bike aur acche se chalna chahiye. Kyonki tab tak engine ka ghisai bhi ho jata hai aur naya oil bhi padta hai. Ho sakta hai ye aapke man ka waham ho?? Nahi to fir Fuel pump ya Fuel Injector me agar problem hoga to hi jyada race karni padti hai. Fuel Pump/ Injector check karva lijiye. Aur Bike ka Reserve me ana aur furteeli hona, isme koi connection nahi hai. Ho sakta hai aap pehale full tank petrol bharte ho, aur jab khali jo jata hai tab gadi ka weight kam hone ki wajah se aisa lagta ho? Mai kabhi bhi full tank petrol nahi karta, sirf 5 Ltr hi bharta hu. Jab har 10-20 km par Petrol pump hai to bekar me extra 10 Ltr ka boza lekar kyo chalna? Aap bhi aisa hi kijiye, jab tak Leh Laddakh me na ho. Ho sakta hai aplo bike fir se furteeli lagne lage !! All the best.

Thanks Jayesh Bhai for your response. Yes, the road conditions have been improved in Maharashtra in last decade. But Gujrat has also done tremendous development including road infrastructure. Some roads might have been waiting for their turn for development. As long as higher mileage is concerned, apart from road condition, it also depends on riding habits and bike's maintenance.

भाऊ, मी देखील हायनेस जुलै मध्येच घेतली होती आणि आतापर्यंत सात हजार कि मी. चालवली आहे. परंतु असा प्रॉब्लेम मी अनुभवला नाही. हॅण्डलबार वायब्रेट होण्याचे कारण त्याचे वरील चार बोल्ट टाईट नसावेत. किंवा हॅण्डलचा कोन लूज असावा किंवा कोन ची बेरींग खराब असावी. खड्ड्यात गाडी पडल्याने आवाज येतो, तर mudguard चे नट तपासून पहा, लूज असावेत. फ्रंट व्हील ची बेरिंग खराब आहे का बघा. लूज नट बोल्ट आणि खराब बेरिंग आणि बुश खराब होणे हे Vibration चे मेन कारण असतात. (बुश म्हणजे रबर पॅकिंग असतात, लोखंडी पार्ट सोबत चिटकवलेले)

खरंतर एक मोठी गोष्ट सांगायची राहिली की गाडी घेतल्यावर मला whistling साऊंड यायचा गाडी सुरु केली की पण तो कमी व्हायचा एकदा इंजिन सेटल झालं की मला तेव्हा बोलले की गाडी नवी आहे होईल आपोआप पण ते झालं नाही मग काही दिवसांपूर्वी मी एक आठवडा गाडी सोडली होती मग त्यांनी counter बॅलन्सर शाफ्ट बदलला आणि प्रॉब्लेम सॉल्व केला आता आवाज बंद झाला पण इंजिन harsh झाले
आणि व्हायब्रेट जास्त व्हायला लागली त्यामुळे गाडी चालवायला मजा येत नाही म्हणून आता परत एकदा गाडी सोडावी लागेल.

Agastya Bhai, mere paas highness hi hai. Is bike me maintenance ke nam par karne ke liye kuchh bhi nahi hai sivay chain cleaning and lubrication, woh bhi 300 km ke interval par. Jaha tak service cost ki baat hai, to free service Rs 1800- 2000 tak aur Rs 4000-4200 padti hai. Har 6 month par service hoti hai. Agar service ka Annual Contract Kiya to mujhe me Rs 9800/- me 4 service aur 5 times oil change Mila. To us hisab se mujhe paid service lagbhag 2200 ki padi, Jo mujhe waise 4200 ki padti. Highness ko sahi dhang se chalaya jaye to woh 40+ average Aram se degi. Agar khench ke chalyenge to 36-38 deti hai. Heavy traffic me engine heat hota hai kyonki ye air cooled engine hai. Handlebar risers lagana. Chalane me jabardast majedar bike hai, No vibrations. Agar afford kar sakte hai, avashya lijiye. It's fantastic machine. Mere channel par service AMC ka aur handlebar riser ka video hai, dekh lijiyega. Aur nayi bike to 1st 1000 km kaise chalana chahiye, wo bhi video jarur dekhna. All the best.

Deepak ji, sahi batau to Matt colour ki Mai colour hi nahi manata hu. Kyonki jis colour me shine aur gloss nahi hai, use use aap kucch bhi karke chamka nahi sakte. Matt colour ko maintain karna easy hota hai. Agar aap ko pasand hai to jarur lijiye. Lekin Bike ki shaan uski chamak me hi hoti hai.

Main only 1 litre petrol me test kiya mujhe only 27 ka milega mila city me.
Bhai ji, Maine abhi tak kisi se bhi 27 ka mileage nahi suna. Itna kum?? Mai bhi Highness ko city me use karta hu, lekin mujhe kabhi bhi 38 se kum mileage nahi mila. Iska matlab ek to aapne kafi heavy traffic me ye 1 ltr ka milega test Kiya hai, ya fir aap ek lower gear me jyada time Tak ride karte honge. Bhai ji, Maine ye jo Odometer ke mileage ka calculation Kiya hai, ye bhi maine abhi tak lagbhag sahi paya hai. Jab bhi mere bike ka reserve indicator Blink karna chalu karta hai, tab mai turant 5 LTR petrol bharta hu, to uske bad bike 200 km chalne ke baad hi reserve signal blink karna chalu karti hai. Aisa kabhi nahi hua ki bike 5 LTR me 200 se kam chali ho. Isliye mujhe bike ka average calculation bharose ke layak laga. Lekin jab aapne kaha hai to mai apni cb350 ka full tank mileage test jarur karunga aur test ka video dalunga. Thanks for your response Bhai Ji.

@@riddle672 Yes Sir, In next week, I am planning to go for Tank to Tank mileage test. I will start mileage test of 100 Km with Full tank and Trip 'A' Avg meter Zero. After 100 km ride, I will fill up the tank and let us see whether that average comes at par with the Trip A Average. I would have done it earlier but just to keep the bike light, I fill only 5 Ltr at a time. Now, I will do it for first time. THE TANK FULL.

Sir why did you choose Hnness over CB350 DLX Pro
Sir, CB350 wasn't there in Jun last year, it came later. So I bought H'ness. Had it be there that time, I wouldn't have purchased it. Becoz the looks of cb350 Dlx pro are nearing to RE Classic and it has disproportionate shape. If I am riding different motorcycle than RE, then it must look different from RE too. Buying Honda and looking RE doesn't make any sense. H'ness is definitely a head turner. When I take to petrol pump, people look at it and try to figure out which motorcycle is this? I don't think it would happen in the case of cb350 as it looks like RE. Moreover, both the models share same engine and no other significant difference. So I'm very much happy with the H'ness.

However, if you're planning to use the bike for long tours and highway rides, the Highness might be the better option due to its foot peg position and the mileage benefit from regular tires. The RS's foot pegs are positioned backward, leading to a more aggressive riding posture, which is characteristic of the RS. This posture is not conducive to long tours as it could cause shoulder pain and increased stress on the hands. Additionally, the RS's rear 150-section broad tire could reduce mileage because of its larger surface area, which creates more friction on the road. It's important to choose a motorcycle that serves your purpose rather than one that merely attracts public attention.
@@rideForFun66 bro you need attention everytime then cb350rs is best option. Thicker tyre gives you more confidence and for mileage it is almost same as highness. For long tour rs is worse than highness but 95% of time you roam around city only and for long tour generally hilly places rent bikes available. Touring aspect of yours is acceptable but mileage part is pure bullshit hardly will give 1-1.5 km less per L. When you are spending over 2.5 lakh that mere mileage doesn't count as a point though.

Shiva ji, this is 2nd Generation model of Highnes. Its E20, means we can use 20% Ethanol. I bought it in July 2023. The first generation was regular E10.

No sir, I haven't changed headlight. I have installed auxiliary fog lights which yellow light for fog, and white light for night touring. Headlight of cb350 is of no use at all in night. Aux light is must.

Gear and speed ka kya ratio rakhte ho aap?
Sourav Ji, I usually use 2nd gear at 20, 3rd at 35, 4th as 45 and 5th at 60. This applies for flat level road. If varies according slope and steepness of road. Sometimes I ride iin 5th gear at 55 speed if I see slope. Actually, changing of gear depends on the amount of load that gear has on that particular speed. Normally when we put bike in 1st gear and when it aquire some speed, we put it into 2nd and so on for all next gears. The main technique is that when you put bike from 1st to 2nd and so on, it should run smoothly in that gear on minimum acceleration till you reach to top gear. Means engine shouldn't knock when you put next gear and accelerate it for shifting to higher gear. The main reason why many highness owners are not getting mileage above 40 kmpl is that they keep accelerating bike in same gear for longer time or ride in wrong gear. Suppose bike is in 4th gear and speed decreases below 45, instead of down shifting, they accelerate it with half clutch or pull throttle in the same gear. This burns more fuel. When we are riding in city, we should know the gear in which bike is running without looking at display. We should fill the amount of load the gear has, then we can learn when engine is asking for higher or lower gear. One can learn this with the practice. Then higher mileage can be achieved.

Bhai ji, meri bike me wobbling ka problem nahi hai. Maine Kai bar test Kiya hai. Abhi Tak bike 7000 km chal chuki hai. Maine ye video banate samay bhi double seat hote huye wobbling test kiya, par gadi wobble nahi hua. Aap mera ye video dekhiye, Maine wobbling test Kiya hai.
