- Ever tried to open your UE4 or UE5 project (Maybe after doing a little CPP work) and you run into this error message "Could not compile. Try rebuilding from source manually" ? If so, then this video will surely help you out. In it, I show you how to recover all your content and even successfully add them to a different project.

I just lost over 100 hours of development yesterday.....I tried this method and it helped with some of the files. Everything was broken, I had to re string/connect all of my spaghetti, I had to recreate some blueprints from the broken files. I only got about 24 hours worth of my data recovered along with majority of the material and mesh files..... The rest turned to ghost files and won't read no matter what I try..... Thank you for your efforts.
I lost over few months worth of works.. But fortunately it was for learning purposes..

I know this is a little weird but
I'm so thankful for your audio recording. Every Unreal tutorial outside of Epic's stuff is recorded in a bathroom through a paper bag. Plus, your voice, though not the "Pacific Northwest White Guy" voice, is very understandable (even though your "Unreal" sounds like "Armor" :P).
Lol, I don't sound white because I am not white. And my the audio never turns out as well as I want it to, since I have to edit it so the viewers don't have to listen to the annoying fan I have on in the background. All in all, I think this was meant to be a compliment, so thanks lol

you know what- i feel a lot better just knowing I'm not the first or lest with a project corrupt file 😂😂😂😂 i was feeling like shit knowing my 4 week project was corrupted....god bless everyone
first things to try: rename Intermediate, Saved, Binaries, Build folders and try to open up the uproject. if it's c++ open uproject file in editor and remove the created module from it, if still not working rename also config folder to start with some default settings. still a problem with loading up plugis? just remove the whole bunch from the .uproject file (text editor) I had not one project in 10 years or so which was not able to recover with this steps. just start it in a bare minimum configuration which is .uproject file, content folder - thats it ;)

How about accessing old saves how do i access the previous saves of my project
Fucking compile error! Thanks for this but tons of my blueprints are broken with missing classes and targets and are just plain bjorked. What would you recommend to recover those? Any drop down reference nodes get reset to default :(
This usually only happens (afaik) when you are basically copy/pasting code in, bc then it does have a reference to refer to, which leads to it getting borked. I'd reccomend modifiying/readjusting the code to make it work as intended. You will essentially have to jury-rig it.
