When she started talking about sewage I knew she was spouting nonsense. Scotland has the lowest monitoring rate for sewage overflows in the UK with only 3.4% of CSOs monitored (compared to ~20% NI, ~91% England, and ~99% Wales). We don't actually know how bad the situation is in Scotland because it's so poorly monitored compared to everywhere else. @@mmcc5846 According to GERS we get far more from the UK pot than we put in. The Scottish economy is in pretty dire straits right now - even nationalist economists have admitted this.
The SNP started as a pressure group because they could see that for Scottish people, independence had a groundswell of support. People started voting for them and that’s where we are today. It’s not about grievance. And the SNP don’t blame Westminster for anything. They merely point out economic reality that Westminster doesn’t fund public services adequately. And the SNP are NOT anti English. That’s just a meaningless platitude put about by Neil and his ilk. 🙄
It's humorous that people who without doubt or equivocation want and indeed voted for Westminster to be in charge and got their way always claim that Westminster isn't in charge.
Neil may be able to conduct an interview but in every other sense he is a joke. The anti-English thing is such rubbish. I was born in England and have lived in Scotland for over a decade and supported independence for at least half of that (was agnostic before that but supported the right to make a choice) and have never experienced any anti-english sentiment. Anti-Westminser, absolutely but they are not the same thing.
Same here - English born (and perhaps surprisingly not too ashamed of it!) but living north of the border for 17 years - best move I ever made - great country, great people - open and welcoming.
Ian Melvin of course it's Westminster fault are they in charge of Scotland because of Muppet like we got a pocket from England while paying for England that produces fuck all ,the SNP are in decline because they should have got independence than selling out to the UK government Muppet
And there’s me reading the English Press today saying that the small part of HS2, which may or may not ever be completed, is going to cost at least another £14,000 million over budget. It appears that England can’t build train lines these days.
Not true - ScotRail staff literally went on strike last month (following a previous strike in December). It's Operations staff only (not drivers) so didn't have as much customer impact.
Andrew Neil has just shown how little he really knows or understands about Scotland. Independence is not an anti-English movement, we love the English as our neighbours we just do not want them to be Scotland's government. As for the economy and public services Lesley is correct, public services are in better shape than England and there is no desire to privatize the NHS as seems to be happening in England. As for ship building, if AN did his homework he would know that major shipbuilding across Britain declined under Thatcher, and yes there are major issues with the two ferries seemingly down to dual fuel requirements that are new to the ferry builder, but he declined to reference the Royal Navy ships that have had huge issues and are still not operational. Could go on about the failures Westminster has presided over these past 14 years, but there is no point as the likes of AN gloss over those matters. If Independence for Scotland is so bad for Scotland why does Westminster not grant a Section 30 and put it to the test?
Andrew Neil is an unhappy man. SNP has made a huge mistake. It’s now out of control. Nonetheless Mr Neil continues to push this anti English muck. He couldn’t find a place in Scotland so he continues to ingratiate himself to England and by English I mean Westminster.

Well said Lesley.
"Buckets of Gold" - never realised Neil was a comedian as well! 😂

Lesley Riddoch would make an excellent M P, more than a match for Brillo Neill
Surely there must be more to this interview ? Lesley appeared to be cut off….
Get these two off the air and the island
Andrew Neil is a bigger thank 10 erses!!!
I was going to comment but found I couldn't speak...... must be me choking on all the British gold that Westminster keeps pouring down my throat. Maybe we could use it to help offset the debt Scotland got riddled with funding infrastructure projects in the home counties that we never benefit from. Mr Neil and those other West London types should maybe head out of the capital and head North once in a while. That way they might appreciate just how bad things are outwith the South East.
I can't listen to a man who dyes his hair to the ridiculous extent that Andrew Neil does.
Yes, it's the hair dye that forms his opinions.
It's obviously affected his brain, judging by the absolute drivel he spouts. I can't believe he actually believes himself, some of the garbage he comes out with.

Aye, she did she explained why Andrew was speaking keech.
Despite this poor coverage we still recorded an astonishing 113,000 hours of sewage released into our waters in 2022 - on a per capita basis this is actually the worst performance in the UK (though that claim comes with a huge pinch of salt given coverage is so poor).

Nick and Neil, two of the biggest hard right Tories you could meet.

The current Conservative Party is extremely left wing, as is the SNP and Labour. They follow the WEF agenda to the letter. The WEF is a left wing fascist organisation and the SNP seem to be desperate to become part of their club. The comments on this video are mostly from the kind of people that I have never come across in Scotland, although they do seem to exist, unfortunately.
Sounds like there was more to come, is there a video of the full interview?
Well done though Leslie, she stopped him speaking over her too.
Ye well done for spouting nonsense les
The Scottish government have worked wonders with the limited powers they have, until Scotland gets independence and away from, yes Andy pandy, Englandshire's wastemonster, we're limited in what we can do, only after independence can Andrew Neil who lives in France criticise.

Regarding the ships what Andrew forgets is the shipyards where built for trade to America etc... Once that trade lessen they were in the wrong place.
This is false. The Clyde shipbuilding industry was destroyed by extremely cheap competition from aboard, particularly Asia. The only serious shipbuilding still going on is for the Royal Navy (much of which would stop if Scotland left the UK since we wouldn't be capable of fielding a blue water navy on our own).

#IndependenceIsNormal well done Leslie! 🏴🏴🏴
How would Andrew Neil know...he doesnt live here! What a load of old tosh as usual from him
Neil may be able to conduct an interview but in every other sense he is a joke.
Depends where you live.
Same here - English born (and perhaps surprisingly not too ashamed of it!) but living north of the border for 17 years - best move I ever made - great country, great people - open and welcoming.
‘SNP blame everything on Westminster’ and then blame the SNP for the decline of Scottish shipbuilding. What a schadenfreude traitor.
Ian Melvin of course it's Westminster fault are they in charge of Scotland because of Muppet like we got a pocket from England while paying for England that produces fuck all ,the SNP are in decline because they should have got independence than selling out to the UK government Muppet
Andrew Neil. He’s right wing so doesn’t know anything. That counters his left wing comment logically
The ferries issue is a disgrace mind
And there’s me reading the English Press today saying that the small part of HS2, which may or may not ever be completed, is going to cost at least another £14,000 million over budget. It appears that England can’t build train lines these days.
Hear, hear Lesley 👏 🙌 👌
She really owned those two clowns. Good job.
No rail strikes in Scotland 🙂
Not true - ScotRail staff literally went on strike last month (following a previous strike in December). It's Operations staff only (not drivers) so didn't have as much customer impact.

@@voodoochile333for a laugh aye

Ever get the feeling that you're being cheated?.
Good on you Leslie.
Lesley Riddoch, we love you. Very well said.
The Union Joke
Andrew Neil is an unhappy man. SNP has made a huge mistake. It’s now out of control. Nonetheless Mr Neil continues to push this anti English muck. He couldn’t find a place in Scotland so he continues to ingratiate himself to England and by English I mean Westminster.
