I know she's not your intended audience, but my cat loves your videos. She likes to sit right in front of the screen and follow your hand movements. Today, she was utterly riveted by the chocolate melting. Thank you for your work sharing these videos!
that's so cute!! i'm glad your cat enjoys emmy as much as we do
This is so precious đ„șâ€ïž
Your kitty knows what's up! đ
Smart cat. Mine just like watching cat tv of birds on CZcams.
Maybe we could talk Emmy into making some holiday pet safe treats that humans can also eat.
Just imagine getting to tell someone who just ate your cookie that your dog or cat loves them too. Kids would get a big kick out of sharing their treats.
"not your intended audience" đ

Omg this isn't the comment I was expecting, but its the comment I needed đ
We'll just put happy little marshmallows in the ball. Oops happy accidents
I love how unpretentious and down-to-earth she is. All the oopsies included in the videos make her style more relatable.
I agree. Julia child dropped an entire roaster during a show and just carried on like no big deal. Everyone makes mistakes, so why exclude them?
Agreed!

oh sure .. she is so .. normal! lol .. just love her to bits, can you imagine being her neighbour!?!?
Moneyâs tight for me this year so Iâve decided to make edible gifts instead and I think this would be a perfect addition. đ
Great plan! đđŒ
That's a good way. One year I made ornaments for some people. not sure it went over too well.
Yes! Even without money being tight they are a great gift.
Best part of home made gifts is you know what when in them and how they are made. You can make it personal for each person. I say that edible gifts would be absolutely awesome for Christmas gifts.
Same here COVID TOOK MY JOB!
An important chocolate tip friends: Let your chocolate casings dry *upside down* so that the hemisphere openings are on the counter top. This will cause the shells to dry as the chocolate moves down towards the edges, reinforcing them, and preventing them from cracking. Do not dry them face up - you'll get thin edges and have to melt them down farther when joining them! Good luck!
edit: I also recommend just letting them dry at room temperature. They set quickly, and more naturally that way, as the chocolate has time to flow into shallow spots.
edit 2: please make sure your chocolate is not too warm. It should only be slightly warm, but it should be quite thick in texture. If the chocolate is very warm, it will cause too much flow, which will also produce thin edges.
Huh! Cool.
I was about to type just that in the comments but then I saw your comment! It really works, I learned that many years ago, not sure where, but it works great! Itâs a great tip!
Whenu say dry them do you mean when you put them in the fridge?
â@@mayal5775 Yes. Place them upside down (on a tray/plate) in the fridge. Ideally, you should just dry them at room temperature (on the counter) as compound chocolate sets very easily. I find putting them in the fridge unnecessary. Hope that helps!
Drying at room temperature also prevents cracking from the cold shock of the fridge or freezer.

Literally what I was already planning to gift everyone for Christmas đ
Nice!
@@emmymade random thoughts after watching the entire video:
I've been wondering about whether these work with compound chocolate for a bit now since it has a higher melting point. Glad to see that answered.
As far as the thin rims go. when making shells for chocolates I was taught to fill the mould then flip it over after it has set slightly. That would make the rims less thin and the excess chocolate can be reused for filling the bombs or making more shells.
Glad you made this video it's cleared up a few things I was still pondering!
@@emmymade Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated? I see the way you're acting like you're somebody else. Gets me frustrated. Just admit that you love the videos I make, my dear emmy

I saw a Grinch themed one with red hearts inside. so cute!
Nice! Very creative and fun idea!
That's brilliant.
Seems like you could put a whole regular marshmallow in there, or few minis. Those look like fun. I suppose you could even put instant coffee in there. How delightful
could mix instant coffe and instant hot chocolate, imagine what a delightful cappuccino this would be!!
Yes. Sounds lovely.
@@beatrizlenat8724 That's what I normally make but not with milk. DOn't they sell mini marshmallows pink and green this time of year? You could make royal icing to decorate the tops, or get the premade wreaths trees or whatever they have. Maybe could even use them as handles to lower it into the cup and it'd act like sugar when it melts. For the ones with coffee inside you could stick a chocolate covered espresso bean on top.
@@recoveringsoul755 mind blowing! that sounds really nice! i'll look it up so i can make it like you said... thanks!!

When she sprinkles the chocolate over the spheres, like it's not a big deal and they suddenly look amazing XD
Right? Same thing when making chocolate dipped strawberries, add a little chocolate drizzle and suddenly they look like they were really expensive.
Right? They looked like massive truffles after.

omg she said she was gonna put the bomb in hot water and i was so worried she actually was gonna instead of milk lol
instant cocoa has milk powder so it wouldnt be awful but I agree with you, milk is better
I wish she did. I grew up drinking it with water so itâs just what Iâm used to and I get the milk when I want to be more indulgent. Would have been handy to see how it works with water because I doubt the outer shell would mix well compared to powder
I've used both milk and water. If you use water I would recommend real chocolate though. Much better flavor.
Winter Wonder water hot chocolate isnt bad, ive drank it many times because im too lazy to make it in milk. but letting chocolate melt into water doesnt seem all that pleasant to me. you seem a bit immature to call people who prefer milk over water snobbish
I actually prefer using water for hot cocoa. It's a thinner taste, I don't really like my hot cocoa to be thick or creamy. I'm just not super about milk except in cheese form. Ice cream only occasionally
I use half an Andes bar when I make my hot cocoa and now I want to try this idea!
Suggestions:
* Try and get some large glass mugs similar to a chemistry beaker with a handle so you can see the whole reaction.
* Pour the milk in first and sit the "bomb" on top. The bottom of the chocolate will melt and the "bomb" will capsize spilling out its contents like a shipwreck.
* Use soft marshmallows- cutting larger ones into smaller pieces. With this, you can then use an eyedropper to drop peppermint or spearmint oil onto some of the marshmallow pieces for a more minty taste. you could even soak them in alcohol for an "adult" flavour sensation.
* Soft caramels or possibly some honey can be used as fillings for the "bomb". Your options are limited only by your imagination, I suppose.

So sad I don't feel like making this bc in Brazil it's such a hot weather so I'll save for winter
Maybe a chocolate shake?
Chocolate ice cubes, or crushed chocolate ice in peppermint soda?
@@catherinejustcatherine1778 hmmm that is an awesome idea!
Same in Australia lol
Yeah it's really hot here in Australia too.
@@beatrizlenat8724
Yay.
I would mix cocoa powder, your favorite sweetener & water or milk, depending on your preference (do you know how to dissolve cocoa powder easily? )
Then, for ice cubes, freeze like normal ice.
For crushed ice too, unless you have a crusher.
If you have a blender, just put the soda & ice in it.
Probably great with fresh mint leaves, &/or a splash of your favorite liquor (rum, gin, whiskey, etc...)
Love your enthusiasm! You always bring a smile to my face.
Loved the video and the idea! My favorite part is your cheer when the recipe does what it should!
Today I saw marshmallows that were filled with chocolate. The package said they could be used to make hot chocolate. Kind of like a reverse of what you just made. I was tempted to buy them but we have enough sugary things in the house. :D
That's probably be a lot easier. Make home-made marshmallows that have a choc centre! Cooking with chocolate makes me panic! (Or just buy them... like I would!)
oh those marshmallows are the best!! and super chocolaty đ€€ i use 3 to 4 of those in some super hot milk and let them melt and it makes perfect cocoa!!

Hi Emmy! id love if for the season youd make Coquito! its a traditional puertorrican drink for the christmas time.
I love coquito so much! I am not Puerto Rican, but my good friend is. One time i was in a store, in the housewares section, and i overhead two ladies speaking to each other in Spanish. All of a sudden, i heard one say, "Mama, MirĂĄ! Coquito!" As she held up a tall bottle with a stopper lid. I got so happy thinking about them making coquito with their new bottle.... Then i got jealous because I don't know how to make it. I wanted to say something but that would be hella creepy so I kept my mouth shut, but it was something that made me smile.
@@Margar02 Yes i use those bottles too! Its actually quite straight forward to make, most recipes work just fine. :))
