That was before the series, and she said "it is likely to be" which is what they said before the last two series aswell. After series 7, they showed the outtakes of two pints, where the writer and the cast said that it is rumoured to be the last but may not be because as long as there are people watching they will keep making it.
It hasn't ended. The out takes were on the same night. Its likely to be the last of the series but it's unlikely it will be the last episode ever. Still, without Donna it won't be the same at all.

It has and that was the last episode ever. Sheridan Smith (Janet), said on the Paul O'Grady Show it'll be the last and so did Will Mellor (Gaz). It is the end. Even if they were stupid enough to make another series it would be pointless as the end was very fitting.
