Ever since their first appearance in Final Fantasy III, Moogles have become a mainstay within the Final Fantasy franchise. But that's not to say they haven't seen their fair share of evolution throughout the years, as they've had different body types, sounds and roles within the various games they've featured within.

Me starting FFXIV: "Oh man, these Moogles are so adorable!"
Me after finishing both Heavensward and Stormblood: "Sidurgu was right..."
Hahah, I started this video and joked to my brother, "I can hear Sidurgu screaming in rage already."
And for the record: ARGH King Moggle Mog. Grr!
Wait until you get through the Dark Knight story line.
@@Qardo "Sidurgu was right..."
All you need is love
Kill it with Napalm.
Moogles do get a mention in Final Fantasy VIII: One of the incorrect answers you can give the Forest Owls is "but the moogles are still here", implying that they're around somewhere.
Yes, and also in the card game there are MOG cards :)
Please do a evolution of chocobo next Please 🙏
Has to be done, we need an in-depth WAAARK through the evolution of chocobos
I second this!
Chocobos, cactuar and tonberry ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kweeeh! 👍
KWEHHHH~~
'Oh Moogles are soooo cute!'
Thornmarch: 'You came to the wrong neighborhood kupo'
I loved the Moogles in the Ivallice games because they just felt like their own distinctive race as opposed to being akin to just cute mascots. They had deep culture and lore, and they all looked distinct from each other. Also their designs are just cuter.
Proof yet again that FFV is an underrated influential icon
Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Lord of all the land (Kupo!)
Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Rules with iron hand
Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Leads the brave and true!
Good King Moggle Mog

Now come along and meet his trusty crew!
Kupo!
Kupta Kapa will clip your tuft
Split your hairs and ruffle your fluff
Kupti Koop will throw you for a loop
Brave a wall of whiskers to find his troupe
Kupli Kipp is sly yet sweet
He'll tickle your nose then tickle your feet
Jolly Kogi's eye for fun is clear
He'll put an arrow straight in your rear!
Pukla Puki plays with fire
Poms a-burning on her pyre
Puksi Piko likes her buddies big
To sing a little song and dance a little jig
Pukna Pako shivers and shakes
She'll stick you in the gut and give you bellyaches
And who's behind them, standing tall?
Why, the biggest moogle of them all!
(Who!? Who!? Whoever could it be!?)
Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Kind and noble lord (hear, hear!)
Nod your noggle nog
And mind your gob
Or he'll put you to the sword!

His judgment you will dread

Off with their heads!
This is an Amazing collection!
But you missed one very important Moggle
MOGGIE from FF7 Remake.
He sells stuff from the MoogleEmporium buffing your parties abilities and...
Brings Happiness to everyone!
I thought the moogle person is a girl
@@sh1yo7 Nah its a Moogle.
They also skipped moogles found in Secret of Mana...
do they mention the Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana Moogles ??
He forgot the moogles from Kingdom Hearts
"I'm Sharpening My Knife, Kupo!"
Played through nine recently and only recently discovered that. 😆
In my opinion, FFXIII-2 has the cutest rendition of moogle. I do wish moogle can be a playable character again like what we saw in FFVI.
I prefer and find FFIX's Moogles cuter, but to each its own
Frankly, I woulda sooner said the ones from Mobius Final Fantasy than FFXIII-2.
I've grown to the Military Operation, Organization, Gukdance, Logistics, Experts in Type-0, specially the combat operator from Class 0
Sometimes when I’m home alone I like to glue cotton balls to my body and slide around on the floor pretending I’m Great King Moggle Mog.
I keep a save point on FF VI with the moogle part, I like using Mog and the others for that short time.
I love FFVIII's Mini-Mog, probably my favorite because it looks like a very fluffy cat. Also it's funny how FFVII has like 3 canonical versions of Moogles and I've never noticed until now
do they mention the Secret of Mana moogles?
You can be moogled and miniaturized in secret of mana,
which is where we first saw mini moogles I think !
In FFXIV, moogle also serve as Eternal Bonding ceremony master. We also get moogle minion after attending the Eternal Bonding. (Demon Box & Bridesmoogle).
In trial against King Moogle, we also saw Pu prefix on some of the moogle; Pukla Puki, Pukna Pako, and Puksi Piko.
There's even a chain of quests that gets the Twelveswood Moogles(who tend to have names that begin with Pu or something similar, as well as double names) and the Moghome Moogles(who have single names that always begin with Mog) into contact with eachother, so you can see the diffrences between them!
Moogles that begin with P are female and those that start with K are male.
Choco/Mog materia plus added effect is a super slept on combo
I’m surprised we didn’t mention their inclusion in Secret of Mana. That game was actually my first experience with them, as I played it prior to Final Fantasy III (VI).
That aside, great video! Love this sort of content.
I was thinking the same thing, especially considering (if I'm not mistaken) that SoM was the first North American appearance of moogles
I think they were also in Final Fantasy Adventure, which would make that their first western appearance. Either way, the Mana franchise would be responsible for the first western appearance and the localization of moogles.
I'm not surprised that they weren't mentioned, given this is a Final Fantasy channel, but I was hoping SoM's moogles would be covered as well. Have there been other games where you can get turned into a Moogle?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this oversight
Moogles are absolutely essential to Final Fantasy.
FF9's moogles are the gold standard for me.
Interesting that Kingdom Hearts gets only passing mentions. I would argue that that series has had an impact in the development of moogles because it popularized the role of the moogle as a shopkeeper, which is a role that has since been often attributed to them, specially in the mobile games.
Yea, I'm actually a little annoyed kingdom hearts gets excluded from things like this because it's "not final fantasy"
@@anathemasoul8393 will I'm made they left out uncharted because "it's not final fantasy" like bruh I just want to know what happens in uncharted so I pressed a final fantasy video and somehow I'm the idiot?
@@anathemasoul8393 You will get over it
Man I love these evolution vids it's nice to see how things change over time
These evolution videos are probably my favourite piece of content from this channel ^^ can't wait for the chocobo, tonberry and cactuar ones :p
In Final Fantasy VII, moogles can be seen during the snowboarding mini-game.
I never realized moogles are meant to resemble Koala bears and NOT cats! That's quite an eye-opener. Also, I guess I don't even have to explicitly ask, but could you do The Evolution of Chocobos next? It's also interesting how moogles appear in Kingdom Hearts games but Chocobos don't.
Does Metal Chocobo count?
Well, the original moogles did say nya, so there definitely is some cat DNA in them.
Your voice and background music are so relaxing. I’m a big fan, thanks for all your content!
You’re most welcome David!
I have been waiting for this, kupo!
I was searching for this video last week thinking it had already been made. So glad to see it now!
Moogles!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite!!!! Wonderful video. Thank you so much for shining a light on my favorite little characters in the games!
do they mention the Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana Moogles ??
This channel is amazing, you are a true Scholar.
Loving the content FFU. Great job!
Thank you Tony
Moogles, the Toads of the Final Fantasy world. Toughest guys you underestimated.
My favorite! I LOVE Moogles 🥰 I really enjoyed this, so thank you for this bit of eye and ear candy 🤤🙌🏻❤️!
There was an actual moogle in X-2 that Yuna had to follow around Luca for a quest.
I’m so glad to see how the moogle has evolved! Thank you for this video!!!!
I have been waiting for this!!!
Fantastic vid. Thank you so much!
Great video kupo!
I'd like to see a video on the evolution of airships.
Excited to see the evolution of the Tonberrys!
Those are annoying in every game so in FF5 Odin can kill them instantly in FF7 Knights of the round can be used in FF8 I already made disc 1 Lionheart though Tonberries first show up in FF8 on disc 2.
Then in FF9 they only show up in 1 area Ipsen's castle on disc 3 but since its counters in FF9 first depend on how many TONBERRIES you killed EG won't do 9999 damage when you first fight them.
In FF7 and FF8 its EG counters are based on total enemies killed so a party member like Cloud and Squall respectively will likely always take the full 9999 damage from it party members that you rarely use in both will barely lose even 300 HP.
In FFX the Don Tonberry pretty much kills anybody no matter what their stats are so even at 99,999 HP Don Tonberry can still do 99,999 per turn
But ONLY hits you once so with Auto Phoenix set on the entire party those can't off the entire party as long as you have ENOUGH Phoenix downs to burn before killing it.
Easy: an enemy featured in every game designed to be impossible to beat and kills your entire party way too easily. Due to them being programmed to get stronger with every enemy you kill during gameplay
Love your vids!
I'm shocked no mention of the Moog status from the Gameboy game Final Fantasy Adventure. I know its not an actual Final Fantasy game but it was my introduction to both Moogles and Chocobos
I've been looking forward to this.
By the time the setting of Final Fantasy Tactics (and later Vagrant Story I guess...), it's a shame a lot of Races that once inhabited the world of Ivalice went extinct due to whatever the devastating Cataclysm was. Not just Moogles, but also seemingly the, Seeq, Gria, Bangaa, and even the Viera too.
Awww what!? That sucks! Not to mention boring as hell!
My headcanon is that they didn't go extinct but are hiding from the humes/humans.
Man, I know a friend who would LOVE a coverage of Tonberry. Probably would know trivia too, though not sure of her participation in FF overall
An evolution of vehicles (airships, SPACEships, chocobos technically) would either be very boring and repetitive or very interesting as it would also show how the world map evolves.
I'm obsessed with moogles, lol, you had me at the title! XD
Dr. Mog did also eventually become a playable character in FFRK, as some of the footage you used demonstrated. Also, all the footage you had from DFFOO was of Mog from VI, rather than the NPC Mog, who looks more like the ones in other Dissidia games.
I am pretty excited for Mascot Evolutions! Can't wait for the next
do they mention the Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana Moogles ??
I love this. I'm a hard-core moogle fan
What about the moogles from Secret of Mana?
Or the Moogle status effect/enemies from Final Fantasy Adventure/Seiken Densetsu? Pretty sure it predates FF5/6.
Fun fact. Ariel Winter has also voiced Marlene in Advent Children Complete.
I really liked this video, and didn't even know that the Moogle were changed up so much.
For me, the "canon" look is the one represented in Kingdom Hearts. That's the Moogle "form" that I know the most.
The thing about Moogles, for each new game while there are similarities Moogles' designs really change, almost like the summons. So that leads to favorite designs. Like Ifrit FFVIII is my favorite moogle iteration they're so cute.
This video is so silt and fun xD
The battle.music for king moogle mog the xii is amazing btw
You make me wanna play exvius and record keeper again!
I went San Diego Comic-Con (2011) & my best pal couldn't go... her one wish was for me to buy her a Moogle plush from the Square Enix booth. Overwhelmed... I called her asking for a better description of the design she wanted. I had zero idea the vast assortment of Moogle designs! I ended up buying the one from FF9 I believe. After that I become more of an Final Fantasy fan because I was curious about the role Moogles had. 5 is my favorite number so I might have to play FF5 one of these days.
Don't forget the kid dressed as a Moogle in Remake that you can get special items from also the Moogle currency
22:01 love that mog’s name 😂
This is ludicrous, this channel deserves way more subscribers.
Loved this whole video as I used it to intro to my son :)
the moogle is easily my favourite videogame mascot. I love them sooooo much
Great video, kupo
24:37 FFRK Global ended yesterday, I came here because I love moogles, and being remembered about it, hurt. It will be missed.
This is a great video, kupo! So many different Moogle types, kupo! Chocobo's and Tonberry's videos are coming soon, I imagine, kupo! But I'm most excited for my buddy Cactuar's video, KUPO!!🌵🐰🐥🔪
do they mention the Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana Moogles ??
This is very nice, kupo... Let's wait for Chocobos next, kweeeH!
MOOGLES!!!
I love this damn channel!✨✨❤️
Finally some QUALITY CONTENT
Interesting how 3's Moogles made nyaaa~ noises and people tend to compare their recent visions to that of a cat. I myself like to believe Mog has the voice he has in the "III" advert, almost like he's just some 40 year old guy in a Moogle suit, something I find unique and funny. I do wonder why Cait Sith's riding moogle is as beastly as it is in its depiction, but I do at least appreciate their more prominent resurgence in recent titles. Thanks for this video!
Haven't started the video yet, but I will say FF9 is peak moogle.
Nah, the Ivalician moogles were smarter and far more relevant
Mog from FFVI will always be my favorite moogle, kupo! I have two plush moogles in my room and I love them so much!
I'm hoping to see a chocobo video next on this series man
Great video! But I rather liked how they were presented in Secret of Mana. (Especially the babies.)
You guys should do evolution of tonberry and cactuar!
I love moogles and I learned some new facts today!! :D
do they mention the Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana Moogles ??
haha.. hurling mog in 13 2 was very satisfying lol
There are a few pieces of Moogle history that got omitted here... The lead character of Final Fantasy Adventure on Game Boy could sometimes be turned into a Moogle by enemies. In the sequel, Secret of Mana on the SNES, the Moogle status not only made a return, but there was also a Moogle Village in that game. In Dirge of Cerberus, there were children who carried Moogle dolls. Moogles also play a role in the Kingdom Hearts series, usually running Synthesis Shops.
Goooood, FFXIV did the Ivalice moogles dirty. I love the moogle design in XIV, but did they really have to retcon the stellar rabbit-like designs?
Is Evolution of Cait Sith going to be a thing? Ive always been confused about what this character is
FF7's Cait Sith is a small feline looking robot made of nuts, bolts, chips and fake fur, with an internet connection, which Reeve Tuesti (the only sane man in Shin-Ra's Board of Directors) controls and occasionally speaks through. FF6's Cait Sith is an Esper. In some other FF games Cait Sith is a Coeurl type monster.
Final Fantasy 12, best moogles ever
Moogles having different iteration in Dissidia OO isn't really confusing, especially when you can see in the story how characters from the different series try to compare their own Cid and Discuss people sharing the same name from eavh of their own universes.
Or how Summoners differs or bare similarity to each other.
Its actually more interesting than confusing.
29:23 there's an npc named moggie in one of the missions called "The Mysterious Moogle Merchant" moggie is wearing the Moogle suit selling items to the player in exchange for Moogle medals
do they mention the Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana Moogles ??
I would love to see stiltzkin return. Could say after he saw the world he started traveling dimensions.
I'm trying to look for the Robot Chicken sketch where the moogle is featured but I can't find it anywhere.
Moogle Kupo gave his soul for Kaze's final Magun shot. Then again, so did Kaze himself.
I hope they become as relevant as they were in Ivalice before the cataclysm again. Those little guys deserve it
in ff14 there are also moogle crafting quests, and a moogle suit players can wear
the moogle from ffix w the backpack 🥺
Good King Moogle Mog XII was only memorable because the terrors it caused. Getting the extreme trial in a mentor roulettes still causes nightmares to would be assistants everywhere to this day. And now I cant get that song out of my head.
Just mark them with numbers brah
Ahhh, Opera Omnia. I wonder if it's still running. Gonna have to find the Moogles, if so.
Kupo-po Kupo!
The english translation option for this is kinda hilarious
I'm just sitting here thinking "oh, so that's the deal with the beavers".
Moogle in chocobo racing is basically a meowth.
I really like the moomba from ff8 is there Anyway you can do a short video on them.
There was also a Moogle village in Secret of Mana
Kupo.
Dude I love Moogles. Final Fantasy IX is what I mostly remember them from. I do slightly like the Chocobo more. I've considered a Chocobo/Moogle tattoo but haven't come up with the right design yet.
That's smart you will be really unique with a tattoo of video games no one has ever done that
In the FF14 segment, you forget to mention that Moogle is featured during the Marriage Ceremony (if players opt to participate in that).
I really thought you're gonna atleast mention the 'kid moogle' in Sector 5 slums in FF7Remake
Please make one on Viera ♥
It doesn't seem very likely there will be any moogles in 16, but I sure hope there are.
Update: There is at least one moogle in Final Fantasy 16.
In FFVIIR - there's also the child vendor that is wearing a moogle suit.
I always figured the beavers were just a rough lost in translation moogle that hadn't received their trademark wings an pink poof yet.
