This is the most relevant piece of advice that I would strongly encourage everyone to watch.

So how do you influence others to adopt higher standards in a positive way?
I'd say by setting a positive example for those who you wish to influence. For example, keeping fit by going to the gym and staying in shape. People take notice.
I agree with everything. it's a great video. But, the most important thing in life shouldn't be happiness. Happiness is one of the many feelings humans have. We should look towards maximizing happiness.

Wouldn't life be very dull if we didn't have any expectations at all on the things we do? :-( What would be the point of going on a date/applying for a new job?
It just sounds arrogant with this "standards" you talk about. Like "My standards are to never go on a date that isn't fun" or "My standards are to only apply for jobs where I will get accepted"

I think the standards apply to achievements instead of restrictions, and you get to set your own standards as you please, so its entirely your own decision to where the standards lie... Feel free to change to your likings if you feel its too dull?
