I’m nominating this for a Grammy.
It's a shoo-in.@@DashnerGuitars
Oh so good!
Loved it.
Awesome
That ending was great! Nice job on the restoration, as always.
Thank you!
Best ending of any CZcams video ever made in the history of CZcams.
Thanks!
Love how nice the radio tuned out, and the ending was a pleasant surprise! Good job, Dashnürd.😂
Totally caught off guard by the ending! I sat stunned until it was over, then laughed. Thanks for that!
Oh my goodness I wasn’t expecting that ending 😂😂 Nice save on the knob. Applesauce is adorable. Well done 👍🏼🇺🇸
In 1973 I actually built a Heathkit stereo with the large version of the speakers (2 separate speakers). The wood and speaker grills were identical. Nice work.
This video raised the bar for your channel! In addition to another meticulous restoration, I laughed so hard at the closing credits that I woke up the dog. Cheers!
I was also laughing so hard, but my 2 dogs, 1 cat surprisingly slept through it. ❤😂😂😂😂
LOL!!! I'm not a drinker, but taking a drink every time you say the word "finish", it would make a drunk person! Nah, as always it's a good job :D
Well done with restoring and incorporating your other interests into the video. Your creativity knows no bounds…so far. 😅
Nicely done, and the end put a smile on my face!
LOL! Oh my word! Someone's truly coming out of his shell. 🤣 On another note... when I inherited a table-top radio of my dad and mom's made in 1963, I was thrilled. It is a Zenith K731 AM/FM radio that works perfectly and is in excellent condition. Your nicely restored radio reminded me of my Zenith. Nice job Dashnurd Dude!
Happy New Year. Another fabulous restoration. Love the "Dashner Rap" at the end! Thank you
DASHNÜRD is my favorite musical group! lol
Mine too.
I have a soft spot in my heart for vintage radios. It was when things were made right. Not the crap we get now.
You didn't mention where you got it. Does it work?
Loved the ending. Great job as always. A pleasure to watch.
Happy 2024! 🥳🥳🥳
Clever ending! Nice job! Another trick that works well with those old plastic parts is super glue and baking soda.
SOOOOO worth the wait till the end! I'm waiting for your guest appearance on Atmosphere's next album.
Nice radio but I love your video production team. They all deserve a raise!
I was not expecting that ending. Gave me a good laugh this lovely morning 😂
Here's a tip on fixing that knob! It's on borrowed time as is and you could end up right back in the same place you started. A better fix (short of a new potentiometer) is to snap that piece back off. Drill a couple of small holes in the stub, and corresponding holes in the nubbin that goes into the shaft of the knob. Use bits of paperclip wire in those holes, and glue it all back. It'll be a lot stronger.
If the knob doesn't hold, pinning the potentiometer key with a metal pin of some kind may work. Otherwise, you can likely find a replacement pot.
Another great restoration! LOVE the song!!
If the knob breaks heat up a metal splint using a soldering iron and push it into each part. Love the work you do . From England
I have long enjoyed your videos and appreciate your skill level, but never had such a good and big laugh before. Thanks for making my day, DJ Dash.
Nice job, always happy to see a new Dashner video. I call myself a Dashnerd and you are very inspirational.
You can often fuse plastic together with acetone and the repair is way stronger than with any glue. Also drilling a cavity and inserting a drywall screw in it to pull out a dowel would have been a good method to use on your broken pot shaft stuck in the knob. Congrats for the repair it looks great!
The end was fantastic! Hello from
Finland. 😊
Hello!
YESS! Dashnurd and Applesauce! Great compilation, you two!😂
Good video, but the ending was so much fun to see and listen too! Carol
Bangin' choons innit bruv! 😎
Great resto as ever sir. Thanks for the video. 👍
The radio looks amazing, Applesauce is adorable, and the ending was brilliant 😸❤
Beautiful refinish and banging end beats!
Excellent video, thanks 😊❤
Thanks for watching!
Hope that reaches the Top Ten! Quite dancible...
I'm now at that annoying situation where I've watched all your videos. I really enjoy them. For the work, but also because of your comic/stoic presentation.
DJ Dashner in the houuuuuuuuse....Great job as always!
You really take pride in your work!!!
Nice restoration.
Love it! Happy New Year!
Thanks. Happy New Year to you, too.
FM in cars wasn't until 1963. 1965 for some. Even by 1965 it was a rarely ordered option because few FM stations existed in most markets. For home use, it might be common earlier, but my hunch is that most people didn't opt for FM for the same reason til mid to late 60s.
Great work as always. The ending was funny. A Dashner VII Limited Production
I love vintage Sears products! Nice work!
That was an awesome little segue at the end... I love it when people move out of their comfort zone and take a risk! I'd love to hear more DASHNÜRD material on future videos :D
11:43 you should get a spray tent... I think they make them specifically for woodworking in mind, but I think any old tent where the front opens up would work. Throw some sawhorses in there and a sheet of ply for a little working table. My friend has one... he does a lot of finishing work inside a warehouse. (also good to prevent dust particles floating around the room.)
Okay, that ending was priceless!
Awesome! Looking forward to Dashnurd's a possible future album release! LOL. Love the kitties!
The music at the end was brilliant! Great clean up.
Thanks please keep videos coming, and Happy New Year to you.
Great song at the end! And of course the piece looks terrific. Have a great new year.
I can only begin to express my appreciation for sharing the importance of quality work. Love your videos as always.
Brilliant!
Nice results and the outro track is banging. 🍻
amazing job... especially considering it was already in really great shape, most people would have thought it was fine as it was. Looks awesome!
Happy New Year. Another awesome video. Thank you
Love the ending! I’ve got a cat just like that.
Some of these retro pieces you work on are VERY cool. I love pieces like old radio, especially if they still work. Always a fun little project. Great job.
One of my FAVORITE channel subscriptions! Loved the ending 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Final rap song had me in stitches. Happy New Year!
The piece turned out well, and kudos on the fun outro! 🎉👏🙌
Unexpected, freaking awesome ending.
It looks great and the ending was clever!😊
Absolutely stunning! Love the fixes and the courage it took to try those. I love the ending! Yoo-hoo!! Way to go! You are amazing! We never saw your face forever and now your are rocking it! 😁💕
amazing work and vibe of video making
It looks great! As always I love your narrative style.😊
Loved the remix at the end. Very catchy!
Wow, you really rocked this one 😊❤! You and Applesauce are awesome! Love that you saved this vintage radio! It turned out gorgeous! Fantastic video 👏!
Absolutely beautiful restoration ☺☺
Love the creative humor at the end of the video😊.
That ending was fantastic!!
I like all your restoration projects, but even more those projects that have different functionality like this radio and the guitar. You did a great job, and I would love to see more of this type of content added to the channel.
Such a pretty piece.
Loved it! Beautiful job on such a tedious project.
I am sooooo glad I watched til the end! That was awesome!😂😮😅❤
happy new year my friend, thanks for the laugh at the end!
Ohhhhhh my gosh, that ending was too funny. You gave many, many talents👍🏻 what an incredible guy you are! Lol Happy New Year!
Cats, walnut, and music! 😃
Happy New Year! Really nice results. You lucked out on all of your little fixes. That model predates the several years I worked at Sears on Lake St. yet it still looks somewhat familiar. At the time, that static-y audio quality seemed good.
Happy New year! Nice video.
You have such a great voice!
Excellent edit😂👏Greetings from Türkiye👋
The song! And the CAT!! ❤❤
Awesome job you have a great skill set I am sort of new to channel but enjoying it very much thanks for the upload
Enjoyed the original music! 😂
Stay until the end folks. Trust me, you will be glad you did. 😄
Great ending!👏👏👏
Love the ending... hilarious 😊
Excellent work as always and I think that dent is probably your best example for your steam trick yet! For the knob though, it looks like the hole in the knob covers a slightly wider shape than the potentiometer shaft in some areas. I would try using a paperclip and either bend a tiny bit at the end at 90 or 180° to make a barb, or if you can't manage to bend a section that's short enough you could just snip it with wire cutters that shear rather than cut. You can stick that into the little hole and try to hook the back or side of the broken plastic shaft and drag it out without breaking the knob. I would just replace the potentiometer though. I know some people would probably argue otherwise because it's an original part, but if it's made of plastic it was going to break anyway and probably will again later, plus you never actually see that part since it's covered by the knob. A bit more work soldering on a new one, but if it were my piece, I'd probably prefer it with a stronger metal shaft. But I'm just the peanut gallery and 10 years rusty at electronics so take what I say with a salt lick sized for moose.
I love old radios❤️❤️
Me too.
Lol the radio sounds great!
Happy New Year 🎉 from your neighbour to the north. Welcome Applesauce.
Those beats are DOPE!
Thanks for the laugh and the video!
solid gold!
Great video!! ❤❤❤ love the rap.
Great restoration! I'm still laughing!!
love the song!
THE ENDING OMG
Very nice, looks like a keeper to me …..Happy new Year and thanks for the show! PS not sure your song is going to hit the top 10 🤣🤣🤣
Another way to remove the shaft of the potentiometer would be to drill a 1/16" hole into the plastic then take a coarse thread screw and screw it into the then pull it out with a pair of pliers. 👍👍
I laughed so loud! we are getting to see the real you!!
