Gem Twist was never a scopey jumper, he jumped from speed.....told to me by Greg Best, the rider who took him to Grand Prix, world championsips and Olympics.
agree, not a good look and anything FAR from athletic. Gem is the athlete there. What's up with stick figures I ride jumpers and dressage, I've got legs, abs, back. Up there merely for an excellent "ride"? Scrawny isn't a good look. Protein and veggies girl!
When he was ridden by Greg Best, Gem excelled the most! He came into his own with that partnership-- and then Laura Chapoti struggled with an eating disorder, but yes, we used to say 'the skinnier she gets, the bigger the bit"....by the time she had him he was basically doing point-and-shoot. She's a good rider, but I do not think they should have let her ride in such poor physical condition, it was hard to watch. I saw her in person schooling jumpers in a show in NJ, and she looked ready for a hospital! Her dad, Frank, should not have allowed it.
