- We finally go to Bonnie Springs Ranch, Old Nevada for the first time and sadly our last time as it will be closing in a few weeks. I absolutely love roadside attractions like this and I had so much fun here. This is a family-friendly attraction in Las Vegas with good ol' western fun.
Hi! I'm Dani. My channel is made just for fun to get me out of the house, go on adventures, and discover new things. My content will mostly be about Las Vegas history and modern attractions since that's where I live. I don't intend to be a review channel, I just love to learn and explore. I might head to a resort, a tourist spot, a historic site, or a random roadside attraction. I will do my best to get my information correct. I also try to keep things positive and family friendly for viewers of all ages. Hopefully, I will be traveling to more places in the near future. Thanks for watching!

I worked at Bonnie Springs as night watchman and security for about two years. It was a great place except for dodging the roaming mountain lions. I really miss the place. I heard a lot of noises that I Couldn't explain but never actually saw anything. It broke my heart when I heard Alan and his sister were selling it. If you never got out there you missed a treat. I worked the all night shift from 9 P.M. till 5 A.M. A lot of wildlife out that time of night, including the mountain lions as I mentioned before. Alan, my boss, never bothered me. I am a retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer and he knew I was very capable. The only other job I also missed were the places I was at for the D.O.D. as a Police Officer. Things change I guess sometimes not for the better. A lot of employees lived at the Hotel there guess they had to find another place to live. If you have any questions for me jot them down on this site.
My ex husband and I found it by accident one day a few years ago. I was devastated when I heard they were demoing it. So let me ask you, where do you move a Haunted Opera House to? Or did it get the bulldozer? Most importantly what about the animals and the pond?
It is sad that this is happening all over the country. History is slowly disappearing. This is a cool town. I never made it out there either. Another nice video. You are doing a great job telling the Las Vegas Story. Now head out to Area 51. :)
I have a bunch of websites in a file for when I can head to Area 51! I am down. :)
Been there.
I worked there back in the 80's as one of the Cowboys. I loved doing the Melodrama in the Saloon and the shootouts and hangings. I can tell you that it definitely was Haunted. Duke, another Cowboy, and I were playing a joke on a friend who was doing security at night. We snuck in the back of town to mess with him. While standing on the boardwalk in front of the Schoolhouse, the bell began ringing and we heard dozens of footsteps of little children running by us. We felt the air blowing and could hear the children yelling at each other. There used to be a merry go round in front and it began spinning and we heard the children laughing and then it all just stopped and a gust of wind blew down the street. I thought it was awesome but when I turned around my 6'4" buddy Duke was running away as fast as he could out into the desert. Best job ever. "Who wants to help me put the harnees on?" (Inside Joke)
That singing cowboy has quite the vocal range 😂
lol. He went all chipmunk on us.
Bonnie Springs has been my Disneyland for years. It's gonna be hard to say so long. 😥 Safe travels out there.
This place is awesome. I love the old west stuff and So sad that it’s going to be taken away, but I’m glad you captured it for everyone to see before it’s gone. The singing cowboy, the original Studabaker, Sasparillas, and the West shows! It was all so much fun and very cool cause I’m attending an event like this next week in Florida. Thanks for sharing Dani :)
It was so much fun! I am sure you'll have a blast at the western event your going to out there. I'll be checking out your insta for some photos.
What a fun adventure. Thanks Dani.
Nice video. If you still want to visit historic Las Vegas, try the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park and the Old Mormon Fort State Park. These two parks along with the Kiel Ranch city park in North Las Vegas were the first main ranches in the valley.
Hopefully, all the animals find a good home.
I can imagine Dani adopting all the ducks and moving them into her apartment.
I hope so too. I can see a few ducks roaming around my home. I already have a rabbit. hah.
You're awesome. It feels really genuine.
I was one of the original stunt men doing shoot-outs and also hangings in the early 1970's when Al Levinson built the western theme park Old Nevada. Even though it was all fake and new he tried to fill it up with antiques and it was a really fun place to work. Also he wanted all of the "town folk" to be in charactor all the time. Some of it was corny to be sure but some of our stunts and gun fights were pretty realistic. All of the "town" buildings were not very well built and not that correct from an historical stand point. Vegas is so big and changed so much since growing up there in the 1960's that I have no desire to ever go back since there is Nothing left of what I grew up with.
I grew up there in the 80/90/& left 14 years ago in 08 when everything went south.
It killed me every time they imploded one of the historical casinos 😢. It still bothers me. It's all about greed and money. I loved growing up in Vegas I just hated that they cared nothing about their great and very interesting history. Now it's just a basic sh.. pot like many other towns.
Awwww yes another Dani702 vid!
YAY! lol Thanks Jack!
This video was fantastic it's always bad when attractions like that close I love your videos and always like seeing your next video
Hi Robin! Its such a bummer it will be closing soon. I wish I didn't wait so long to check it out.
Dani, yes the world is changing .. did some research on the Old Spanish Road, but it's all about the aquifer under Las Vegas that horses, people and (later) steam locomotives needed to get to California/central valley and the coast. It's a dusty old relic, but good that you journaled it before it disappears. As to your evid, very well edited and lots of personality
It was so much fun. I wish I hadn't waited so long to check it out.
Looks like a cool place, the animals were awesome!
Enjoyed the video, nice to see an off strip location.
The singing cowboy was kinda creepy.
Take care and see you next video!
lol. That cowboy sang for at least 3 minutes. Thanks John!
You Have Such A Wonderful Voice For Narration !!!
Thank you M RS!
Dani702 I watched all of your videos you are always so informative and historical which I love but I didn't realize you're actually funny that singing Cowboy thing and the Sarsaparilla swig was hilarious more of that please.🙌😂
Thanks Scottey! I'm funny SOMETIMES. I am way more comfortable outside of the casino where I'm not scared of being told I can't film. hah.
My wife and I spent a whole day at that place and had a great time. Shame that its closing. If you hear that they are going to auction off some of the stuff there, please let us know. Thanks for sharing this. Love all that you put on your channel …...Rhino
Thanks for watching Rhino! Such a bummer it will be gone soon. I will let you know if I hear about any auction.
Thanks Dani. Have not been out there for a few years. Getting demolished? I guess I may have heard that. I remember when The Killers filmed a music video out there.
Hey Chuck. I didn't know the Killers did a video there. It was sold for homes and commercial buildings. What a bummer.
* Hi Dani ..., Excellent video and very informative, and sad to see the place go ! ! * Thank you for sharing.. Mike in Montana :)
Thanks Mike. I had a lot of fun. It was such a bummer we didn't go sooner.
NICE VIDEO AS ALWAYS THANKS
Thank you Linda. That was a fun day.
Danni!
That was great, thanks for documenting that!
I wanted to go but can’t make it.
Oxo
Thank you for sharing this video. I hope to visit this location within the next few weeks with my kids. I laughed with what you did with the singing cowboy. I guess he gives you a lot of entertainment for a dollar. 😁
That cowboy went on for about 3 mintues. lol! Thank Ivo. I hope you guys have fun.
Thank you
Thanks for watching Saad!
Man, everything cool is closing down before I get to move out there.
It's such a bummer that it will be closing. There is a place about 2 hours away that has a similar replica mining town. I hope to check that out soon.
Funny looking scarf that ol geezer in the chair wearing geesh'.
I missed it. I'll have to rewatch it and find the scarf.
@@Dani702 you will never see him. But he's 'a sittin rite there pardner
Dani.702, you do a great job!
Thank you Virgil! That was a fun day.
This reminds me of the "simpsons episode" where the grandpa says "hello sweet cheeks" and the robots ass flys and hits grandpa simpson in the face." Lmao.. Good video.
I grew up in North Town aka north Las Vegas,
Bonnie Springs old Nevada was my escape from the hustle and bustle of city life!!!!
I remember going as a child and an adult with and without my kids 😢. I have such fond memories of this place and of Ms. Bonnie herself. She was a wonderful woman and spirit. I have seen so much history destroyed here over greed and money money money.
It's so sad 😭. Nevada Vegas cares not about history only Cash. But I mean I guess what should you expect from a town built from the Mafia.
Heartbreaking to see Ms. Bonnie is most likely rolling over in her grave 🪦.
Old Nevada was was built in !972-73. as a western theme tourist attraction next to a dude ranch. No one should feel too bad about it getting torn down as it was not that authentic or well built. I know I worked there and was there at the start.
Developer Joel Laub and his attorney and project partner J. Randall Jones are under contract to buy the ranch and plan to chop it up mostly into custom-home lots. Their plans include a 25-room motel, a restaurant and a 5,400-square-foot event barn, Clark County records show.............LVRJ
I was there on my last trip it was ok...I thought it was about to close down...seem lifeless...then the news came out and my friend said you called it before even it was announced...I like those types of attractions but I thought it needed some TLC to continue...I am glad I experience it before they flatten it and build luxury homes!
I wonder if they knew they would be putting the property up for sale long before we did. Have you been to Calico off the 15 fwy? Ive got that mining town on my list.
thank you thank you thank you for this video! My wife and I went here 2 years ago and loved it and if I knew they were closing down I would've brought my mom here last December. When we were 2 years ago they were really slow that and the "Sheriff" and his companion gave us a behind the scenes private tour. Also, if I remember correctly, the guy playing the sheriff used to be an accountant(or some kind of financial person) in New York(or another big city) but gave it all up to work at Bonnie Springs. Truly heartbreaking this place is closing. I hear that homes are going to be built here, too but if it really is haunted, the new owners could have "issues". Did you see the movie "Poltergeist"?
I didn't even think about home being built over the haunted areas. lol Yikes! That is so cool they gave you a backstage tour. That was our first time but I felt really sad leaving. It was sad to think about the employees who have dedicated their time to entertain us will have to find a new job. I am sure there are tons of people that grew up visiting Bonnie Springs that will miss it dearly.
That's a bummer that they're replacing this relic for homes. On one of your vlogs you said "Tim Tracker", do you watch AdamtheWoo and JustinScarred as well? They are the reason I started vlogging. I've met them a few times. I bought Adam's coat rack when he left Orange County to head off in his RV Large Marge, only to come back to LA. Anywho we are selling our OC condo to live in Henderson. Would be cool if I should run into you in Vegas.😊
Yes Yes! Adam, Justin, and Tim are my top three faves on youtube and a huge inspiration for my channel. That is so cool they are the reason why you started vlogging as well. Henderson is a beautiful area. Definitely say hello if you see me around town once you get settled in. :)
So sad that this place is closing. I heard a developer want to build houses out there.
don't be bum out dani.you can always come to my town and go thru Knotts berry farm.
I live right next to there
I haven't been to knotts in SO LONG. :( I've been wanting to go but everytime I had out there, I end up at Disneyland lol. I NEED to stop at Knotts soon.
Heading to LV tomorrow. Maybe ill run into u.
That's awesome. I hope you have a great time.
Omg my dad works Here he was Penelope in the show and I cold have got you in for free
That is awesome! That was a really fun show.
its set to be demolished? i just contacted them about horse back riding in march and everything seemed to be business as usual. nothing on their website about being demolished either.
We are planning to go there in 3 weeks...will it still be open? When is it closing? Thank you
I didn't even know about this place. Thanks for sharing this. However...gloryhole? Ummmm lol!
lol. I swear it was a mining term before it meant anything else. *pull on tie face*. HAHA oh geez. Maybe I read that wrong.
Why would they shut that place down?
You would like Goldfield, AZ
Can somebody help me a very long time ago i went to a place like this but also had a huge swimming pool and as a child we went there is this the same place im thinking of ?
Been there a couple of times when in vegas , part of our day trip out to red rock. Was cool . To bad developers have to buy it and destroy it for housing . There is so much other land they could buy and put their housing , but NO why do that when we can but something cool and destroy it .
America is tear down happy. Las vegas vintage casino's are pretty much gone. Place is not what it used to be.
that looks fun. sad that they're demolishing it
Such a bummer.
I'll take "things most tourists have no idea exists in Nevada* for 500 Alex
Hey I saw you in Vegas and me and my friends asked you what your channel we were right next to the sprinkles can you please give me a shoutout✌🏼
Hi Maddie!! Thanks for subscribing. I remember you girls. I hope you had a fun time in Vegas.
what a shame looks like fun what will replace it
residential and commercial buildings. :(
Why are they demolishing it?
I hear to build new homes

I also read they would be putting up residential and commercial buildings. :(
Dani.702 damn shame. Love your videos, love Vegas. Thanks for keeping us in the know when we can’t be there.
Why demolish - something else planned for the area
I hear to build new homes and I also heard the property sold for millions(31, I think).

@@Dani702 It's Such A Waste Of A Really Cool Place Like That
It Just Seems Too Happen To Much !!!!!
I totally agree.
That’s a shame! Modern attractions probably doomed this!
So sad! I want to visit more places like this before they are gone.
That was the worst dollar you could of ever spent
Would be an interesting video without these silly peoples input.
Is this lady talking through her nose? "Oh my God"
