    i obviously went through the the dilemma of should i shouldn’t i swap my 1250 gs …i’ve had my 1300 for about 2 weeks now and I’ve just about done the run in miles and in every way the 1300 is better ..yes even looks .. the seat is strange it sort of rotates your hips very slightly forwards ..but even after a 4 hour run on it i never found it uncomfortable ..the 1250 is a great bike and feels like a big hefty bike , but the 1300 is on another level , it prob doesn’t weigh that much different in real life but carries its weight and size a lot better

    I understand that he rides a GSA currently, so he compares it to his GSA. But I don´t think it makes sense unless the intention is to figure out, whether someone should go for a standard or Adventure version.

      Point is the bike is smaller than the 1250 and you will notice it coming of the 1250 and I’m not talking about the adventure at all

    I agree that it needs a tune. I think it is starved for fuel with the euro 5 emissions. I'm going to remove the catalytic converter from mine and keep the stock exhaust and give it a tune then...

    GSA at the NEC later this year, should have a few of the teething problems from the GS ironed out by then.

      How do you know the GSA is going to be at the NEC? Might have to go any information on that please?

      @lifeisarideuk No int known, assumption and wishful thinking. Didn't you say GSA ready by Oct? If so, reasonable to assume it will be at the NEC. I take it you will be getting hold of one to provide feedback/comparison to standard GS?

    Interesting. So summing up. Sam likes the bike, smitten ?, but wouldn't change yet. He found riding position cramped, seat uncomfortable and would have liked a better engine note.
    So, would have to spend £700 on a Sargent seat and similar on a jeckle and hyde and possibly lowering pegs for cramped legs. So at least £1500 ontop of the purchase price to make a usable every day bike !!!
    Doesnt seem like progress to me nick !!

      Roger, it's not progress at all. It's just different. It's evolution. It rides totally differently. Some say it's better. Some say it's not. I think the people that like the stance of the 1250 dislike the 1300 look, but when you write this Bike hard and I mean hard it laps it up and you forget what you're riding, but when you get off this bike, do you look back? If you don't look back? You're on the wrong Bike I don't look back. Are used to with the 1250. Definitely the last one. I had the trophy so what the hell have I done? Let me tell you what I've done, I've compromised for agility and overall riding enjoyment which is a bit of a shame but when you're on it, you can't look at it

    I have 2022 1250 Rallye. The 1300 is a disappointment. Too small. Too sporty.

    So what kind of life can one get out of it?
    Doint service and changing wear parts, could one be able to drive it like 300K Km?
