Nhaz yeah totally agree, they could make at least an online selection if they have someone in mind, why open to everyone? its just waste of time for both sides, I wouldn’t mind if they were honest and specify what they need, it seems they work with this kinda “false hope”, a bit frustrating.

@@stallenmenezes7208 It's frustrating because people spend money on travel and time to go to the interview. For some people, travelling may be out of budget and risky, but still go in hopes of being hired.

THEN LET THEM SPECIFY QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OPEN DAY HELD IN A SPECIFIC COUNTRY!! Some of us from Africa (Where Open days are not provided) are travelling all across Europe to attend an open day only to be declined just because they're only looking for a specific nationality!

Hi everyone and mostly Hi Orlando.
I’ll share with you guys my experience of Emirates Cabin crew Open Day just to improve Orlando’s point of view or lets say the reality.
I’ve been ones , not much tho , BUT
I’m Bulgarian and I went to an Open Day in Sofia/Bulgaria and I truly understand and believe that the recruiter didn’t came to hire Bulgarians because Emirates doesn’t even fly to my country or our language is not much popular. There were about 40 people all around the world even Philippines and Jamaica so we were about 50% Bulgarians 50% other nationalities and guess what.
Only a dozen Bulgarians passed first step (cv drop) only 5-6 passed the 2nd step and (because I wasn’t from them) I don’t even know if they choose even one to the final but I was really amazed that lots of people like Orlando says wasn’t even have a makeup or have their hair in a ponytail or something... they were wearing jeans... ripped ones... gosh I was shocked. And guess what I was prepared so good and was even more than they would expect about everything... clothes , makeup , hair , RED LIPSTICK , CV , even experience... and I didn’t pass second part....
I just want to say guys YES if you do what you have to do , if you’re confident and you believe in yourself someone else will notice and will appreciate everything you made . I know it’s not fair but at least you try and you know you WERE THE BEST... maybe they just lost the right person !!!!

I will fully appreciate the response. thankyou

Sadly this is the case for many jobs for a long time, but more so even in jobs where language isn't essential but equal equalities quotas need to be reached. The interviewers themselves may not particularly like those they hire but want to please their bosses and keep their jobs. The successful candidate is then shunned at work. Nobody benefits. Companies , please be open about what you want, why, and if the successful candidate is actually who they want. Stop breaking people's hearts, confidence and wasting everybody's time by not being open. Again _nobody_ wins.

You don't need to register prior the Open Day. You can just walk in with your CV and a passport size photograph. Don't bring any other photo, like a full length one, they don't need it at this stage. At the beginning of the event you will be asked to go online and register. So you can choose - either you register before attending the open day or you walk in and register at the event. Good luck.

It's nice to hear they did hire on your open day, but I believe it was a one off occasion. The majority of times, males have been discarded either ahead or at the end of the interview.
