I recently passed through a place, with name roughly translatable as war village.
I wonder what the fascination is with that type of name?
@@RRatedCustoms Wikipedia claims, that even though the current form of the place name directly translates as war village, the name actually comes from a surname Sova, which has nothing to do with the word for war.
That is interesting because this little city was named after War creek but no one knows how that got its name.
@@RRatedCustoms I once spotted a lake, on the map, that was named after the village, which was named after the lake.
