Removing Feeders and Adding Supers

  • It’s that time of year in Kentucky. The flow is on so there’s no need to feed anymore. Time to get those honey supers on the colonies!

    Thanks for the video! Have you ever used the nail on spacers? Do you prefer the spacer tool?

      I’m not familiar with the nail. I do like using the spacer though.

    Is there a way to know what hive a swarm came from? If you didn’t watch it go.

    Why would you super such a weak hive as the last one? Wouldn't that be tough for the bees to defend?

      In theory yes, but the bees can easily defend when I keep the entrance reduced all year around. I’ve seen colonies draw wax when we are in a major flow like this. Is less about honey and more about drawing wax.
