    If I want to drive LEDs why cant I connect bidirectional (dual polarity) LEDs to the servo outputs ?

    Does this WS2812b strip have to connect to a specific kind of pin? I heard that RGB LEDs require PWM-capable pins, but pin 12 is not a PWM pin as far as I can tell. I'd like to know which pins can and cannot be used on the Pololu A-Star 32U4 Micro.

    • @pololu
      @pololu  Před 5 lety

      Please note, the WS2812B LED strips do not use PWM signals; each LED segment on these strips have their own integrated driver that uses a special protocol (detailed on product page and datasheet). We answered a similar question for you on our forum:

    17 seconds in you mention that you are working on the LED Strip page which is already open - unfortunately WE don't have it open and it is REALLY tough to find. I clicked LEDs and got to a page that had 'LED Strips' as an option, but that page only had items you are trying to sell. No resources.

    • @pololu
      @pololu  Před 9 lety

      It sounds like you were just looking at our LED strip category; if you click on any of those products, you will get to the product page, which has all of the relevant resources. Also, note that the URL of each page in the video is visible in the browser address bar.

    Is the Arduino also powered from the 5v power adapter? If not how would you accomplish that? Thanks!

    • @pololu
      @pololu  Před 7 lety

      +furystylee In the video, the Arduino Uno is powered via USB (5V), but you can power the board in other ways. For details, see the "Power" section on the official Arduino Uno's page on the Arduino website:

    Should the signal ground and voltage in ground share continuity on this strip? I understand this strip is very old and I am trying to trouble shoot if my issue is the hardware or example software. When signal ground is connected to the arduino I have no response from the strip after uploading until the ground is removed but the strip will not function properly. I have tried multiple arduino's and each example code with the same result: the first led is the brightest and will not change color and the rest flash randomly and get dimmer down the strip until the are completely out. I have used a digital multimeter to check and found that there is continuity between signal ground and voltage in ground. Any information you can provide will be extremely helpful, and if this system is too old to get data for that is understandable. Thank You.

    • @pololu
      @pololu  Před 6 lety

      Those grounds are already connected, and you should have a common ground connection to your controller from the LED strip. We suggest posting pictures of your setup and more details about it on our forum where we can further help you with troubleshooting your system:

      Kind of an amplifier that could let Arduino board to carry up a batch of 12V LEDs.I think that it has been installed inside the strip.

    Does anyone have a link to addressable LED strips with one data line? I have zero interest in dealing with RGB LED strips. Would still love some awesome videos on unique projects utilizing addressable LED strips, specifically covering the code behind them.

      Easily, that's a 20 MIP microcontroller so it should work well. I can operate these on a 8 Mip microcontroller.

    Dear Emily, good day.
    Just one crucial question for me.
    Since the circumstances would not let me try changing components of my project and find why it doesn't work.....
    This LAST pin you connected, the Dpin.....is there any value of V, A, or Ohms or anything else that I could read on a multimeter so I could know that the Arduino Nano I am using works????
    Please help me, thank you for your time in advance!!

      It sounds like you are asking about the TM1804 LED strip linked to in the description of the video. Those LED strips were replaced with newer ones. We've updated the information and link in the description to reflect that. Please note that the instructions in the video still generally apply to the newer LED strips.

    Pololu Robotics and Electronics you MUST get the apps open and laid out nicely BEFORE starting the video. i did understand everything but visually, this was disorienting.

    • @pololu
      @pololu  Před 6 lety

      Thanks for the feedback. Part of the point is to show how to get to various windows and pages. Can you give some more specific examples (times) of the video being disorienting?

    • @bashisobsolete.pythonismyn6321
      @bashisobsolete.pythonismyn6321 Před 6 lety

      you will notice that windows and graphics popped up all over the place and they were stacked (ie, obscuring each other). there might be some gui options for tiling, snapping to screen edges or corners, snapping to the edge of existing windows. like i said, get it open and laid out beforehand. just friendly advice, that's all.
