- Visual Concepts' WWE 2K series has been the only real option for wrestling game fans for a long time. However, on June 29th, Yuke's and THQ Nordic will release the first video game licensed by All Elite Wrestling - AEW: Fight Forever.
Launching for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch, it features ten match types and Road to Elite, a Career Mode where players can create a custom wrestler. Online play is also supported, and players can partake in mini-games, ranging from the intriguing to the surreal.

I like how Yukes was the deebloper of that AEW game when they were the initial developers of the WWE games, and even during the era when it they were WWF.
WWE 2k13 was the last one I had an absolute blast with, I’m happy to play a game that reminds of me of my favorite wrestling game here comes the pain.
You didn’t play 2k14? that was the last fun one imo, then it got slow paced and boring.

@@AlexSanchez-tj4ph i did play 14! and i do think it did everything better than 2k13 BUT i played 13 into the dirt! i was so hype cmpunk was the cover star haha me and friends played it but by the 14 came around it was more like a QOL update so it didnt hit the same nor had the same promotion/hype around it. even tho it was the better game.

Fight Forever looks pretty solid. The mini games look silly but really intriguing. Playing baseball as Malakai Black... lol
a few things that were left out, this isn't a yearly release, new wrestlers and match types are going to be seasonally released, there are NO community creations in the game right now but wrestlers have multiple attires, and can be edited as well, also some wrestlers have other models and attires that can be purchased in the in game store with in game currency that's earned by just playing the game, the store is similar to the smackdown mall from NO Mercy, also, the creation suite for wrestlers and arenas are very limited but will be added to over time, as for the mini games, from everything I saw they give me Fusion Frenzy vibes

I already pre-ordered his game on the Xbox series S 2 weeks ago And I got the elite edition and I will be doing the same for the switch tomorrow. Can’t wait to be able to play this game.
So far from all of the footage that I've seen its weird seeing some of the animations of moves in this game carrying over and having older moves from the Smackdown vs RAW games.
It is an arcade game here, the quality of the game is more important than anything else. If you are looking for graphic quality, you will not enjoy playing wrestling. The No Mercy game was previously, and the legend of wrestling games is still with normal graphics, but it is a very great game.
@@gotoalshreef I'm definitely looking forward to owning the game I want it to succeed to the fullest. it's just that I find it surprising that the game reuses some animations from the older WWE games. I thought they didn't keep those animations after not using the original WWE games engine that they (Yukes) created.

What i'm worried is replay value , without a sandbox mode and a lenghty road to elite it might be a skip for me i'm mainly a single player guy

If they didn't waste time on the mini games they would have had time to polish and perfect the gameplay, and given it a graphical boost. They would have had time to include full entrances, cage matches and more match types. Instead we have this, a shell of a game which they're charging full price.

I preordered the Elite Edition for my Series X. I was torn between the PS5 version vs the Series X, so I ended up going with Microsoft because it was about $15 cheaper with the discount and credit back.
How does 1 order the elite physical edition in UK? There seems to be no mention of it in the Amazon and Game preorders? Just seems to be the standard edition.

@@Windrake101 That's not something you can change. You can change which button does a punch, which does a kick, which does a grapple, which runs, etc., not replace mashing buttons to break out of a pin/submission with a timed meter or something.
@@quentinmitchell4568 It's not. The head director was the director on those games, but the development team is Yuke's, the team that made the Smackdown, SvR, and did most of the coding for the WWE 2K games.

They need to add the survival match were 6 wrestlers stay in the ring/no weapons, can't exit the ring and last one standing wins
Entrances cut short but you can control the pyro I'm fine with but no match commentary don't know how I feel about that one
Honestly? I think the game sounds good. maybe I am a little spoiled but I would of loved a GM mode in this game. But because of how AEW is (ATM of course) would be hard. I just like being able to tell a story. it's why I love Universe Mode. Telling a story in my head. It makes the games last longer. However I may end up grabbing this game later down the line with a price drop.
Though that Road to Elite sounds very interesting.

If the creation suite is decent enough and they add online character downloads, there won't be a need for yearly updates. People are insanely good at creating wrestler that look and play exactly like that person.
There’s absolutely no way this game gets yearly updates. I’ve never heard of any sports game that does that. But hopefully they upgrade the custom character options. Since they’re very weak at the moment.

The gameplay looks fun but without it I believe it takes away a lot from its replay able value and can get repetitive quick.

I know we saw Matt Jackson playing it on the steam deck but does anyone know if it'll run at 60fps on the deck? That's gonna be my deciding factor on if i get the game for the deck or Xbox series x. I know it'll run and look great on the Xbox but i like the idea of playing on the go with my steam deck and I'm assuming it'll run better on the deck than the switch.

Control's are the main thing that matters. Gameplay 2nd. It looks nice but so did TNA Impact and Wrestlemania 21😂😂. I won't pre-judge this by those standards.

Graphics looks like WWE No Mercy / WM 2000. Very fun carts back in the day. It will be interesting to see the improvements.

A few copies have leaked pre street date. From what I’ve seen. It looks great, reminds me of smack down vs raw here comes the pain. With better graphics, now yeah the graphics aren’t gonna be as good as wwe2k23. And that’s ok. It’s more of an arcade type of wrestling game which is ok. It’s good to stand out from the other wrestling game that is closer to simulation than arcade. I like the line up. But not having FTR on the base game is weak. They’re gonna charge us for the best tag team in AEW. Come on

My brothers and I have been AEW fans since day 1 so no doubt we'll buy the game eventually, but personally I feel like the game as it will be released will get old quick -- the Cpu is apparently frustrating, there's no backstage areas, no 3 vs 3 matches, no cage matches, no commentary (even though they have the best commentators on the payroll), no stadium stampede, maximum of 4 people in the ring at once....I still love the game and how it looks, love the roster and the gameplay, but I feel like it's worth waiting for a few updates before buying. Hopefully they'll update it quickly, and on a regular basis.
Lol best commentators on the payroll?? JR and Tazz and Schiavone are suchshells of themselves and dont even try anymore.
@skyblaze3574 That's your opinion, but personally I enjoy their commentary every week. And sure JR isn't as sharp, but he was always pretty good doing commentary for WWE games, it's a shame he didn't record for this one.

Game needs more clothes and wrestling moves. Also the female caw is insanely limited 12 hairstyles, like 5 body suits and also like 5 crop tops most of the stuff you can't really change it's color like the leotard it's just black. and no other color. Most of the stuff can't be mix and match wich is weird and scrolling down the moves is a pain since there not separated into categories.
I was legitimately hoping for crossplay; it was the one selling point for me, 'cause frankly I was tired over the 2K games not having it for years, and sharing cross-platform creations felt like baby steps in the right direction. It was the selling point for me and what set it apart. No crossplay, no money, and this coming from me who got into AEW a few years ago and has been loving it since.
Maybe I'll cool down and get the game at a later date but again, the crossplay was my "This is the one, guys, finally, something we could everyone involved in on the server and have some fun with" but now it's just the same ol' sh*t.

I preodered 2K battle ground that’s how committed to trash wrestling games I am but I’m tempted to buy this one however the “mini games” scare me, the feel cheap and like a desperate throw in for filler content-I will not be preordering simply because I play on switch and the last big wrestling game we got was wwe 2k18 so I just pray i can at least have tag matches and control over titles
As someone who owned the WWF games on N64 I recognised this instantly. It looks like a PS3 era dressed up version of the base N64 games
Those games were fantastic, but I would be concerned that this could be a cash in using that 20+ year old game to save building an actual new game
