Diverticulis was also the Move Kevin Steen Used in ROH so I Think this was a Tribute to Kevin Steen who happens to be Also The Elite's Best friend.

It was also called this on camera by Excalibur when Brian Cage would do the move.
Steen named it as a pisstake to brock, It is the move lesnar made famous and steen used it after brock got diverticulitis.

The 8 bit music in the game is from an official AEW music release, it wasn’t done for the game
And this is just something I have to say - No Mercy did not use 8 bit music for the wrestlers, it was a 64 bit system 😂

Deep Sea Diverticulitis was the name of the move when Kevin Steen used this. When you play as Brian Cage it has Excalibur calling it this on the loading screen.
Brock was diagnosed with it in 2011-2012 before Brian cage and steen started using it under that name

But for real, as people have already stated, No Mercy didn't use 8-bit themes, they were just heavily compressed. Also, those 8-bit AEW themes were released on an 8-bit album in 2021.

People keep comparing this game to No Mercy and AKI games ignoring it's made by same people who made Smackdown games and controls feel a lot like PS1 SD games too.

@@KasumiRINA It's nothing like SmackDown, I don't know what you're playing. Personally I'm getting more of a WrestleMania/Day of Reckoning vibe from Fight Forever. Makes sense since those were the successors to No Mercy.
It's more like a smackdown game than no mercy, by a long margin.
I guess the reason why they added a Veg/Non-Veg thing in Road to Elite is that Bryan Danielson is in the game

That's if they don't abandon it. If it's not selling well, they have no reason to continue supporting it.
They have a lot of work to do before it's even great let alone a masterpiece.
I think if they truly support it and continue to add to an already great base you’ll be right. I hope that they have plans to continue to build this game up with new wrestlers, match types, etc
Also this game could use a “CAW DLC” like Fire Pro Wrestling had with just like a bunch of new CAW assets to supplement the base game.
Your right but how long will it take yukes have alot of knowledge around wrestling games and to say after all this time this was what they put out seems a little shady to me, because as a first aew venture it should not of having that price tag do you mind if I ask what you think.
No mercy didnt use 8 bit themes, it used midi, also AEW released a 8bit album back in the day
And it only used midi for the "original" themes, not the wrestler themes; it just used really short, heavily compressed loops of parts of wrestler themes. it also had entrance videos (which were essentially gifs)
There’s a nod to Angle vs Shane at King Of The Ring if you reverse the German Suplex on the screen you will belly to belly them through it on the last part
These hidden features are cool. I really hope they stay true to their word and update the game. Gameplay is superb. I havent ran into the glitches ive seen online. I own the game, but dont think its worth $60.

No Mercy did not use 8 bit tracks. They were the actual tracks just compressed. For example I typically get flagged on CZcams for Ken Shamrock's Vol 3 version of Dangerous, Patterson and Briscoe's Real American by Rick Derringer and Cyndi Lauper (credited as Mona Flambe on The Wrestling Album.)
The War Zone port had midi versions of both the Superstar themes and the original tracks for CAWS.
The pop quiz mini game music doesn't vaguely resemble No Mercy's championship mode promo/cutscene music.
Hey speaking of that, does music in AEW game get you flagged? I am unsure so turned off in-match music and lowered the menu. Can it be turned of or on? Entrances are short enough I keep them on, it's the background that I'm worried about since cutting that out would be impossible.
@@KasumiRINA THQ specified the licensed tracks and the RTE intro will get you flagged. There's a jukebox where you can select and deselect songs. You can mute background music and you can change intro themes of anyone on the roster. Kenny Bomb uses the FTR theme for Punk, for example.

I don’t know if you covered it yet but if you play as Nyla Rose(and I think Riho but I can’t confirm it) in RTE. After the match for the 1st women champion. The game will play a clip of Riho winning the championship and becoming the first woman champion.
I think it is cool they have those clips in there.
It happens with any female character; I just did it with a CAW. There are a few videos like that in the career mode.
We can get Riho and The other Asian lady but not Jamie Hayter smh

My only few issues is lack of hair for female caws as opposed to the guys, and having only two slots for entrance gear on upper body

Did you know if you use suplex toss 3 you can hit the ring apron and reset the count

When you go to the Superstars Info (where they have a little random fact, accolades, etc) for Sting it says "Mentor to Darby Allen". Misspelling Darby Allin's name
There‘s many other, REAL wwe easter eggs. Undertaker‘s taunt (kneeling for the urn), or his old school. Entrance motions for hulk hogan. Roman reigns, and more.
I do like the violence and most of the physics. I love the barbed wire. I only wish all those features were in 2k‘s game instead.
also you can add Props to entrances, like Security guards or Dancers, Horses and even Undertakers Druids with torches (while also add smoke and lighting)
The 8bit isnt a nod to no mercy or games of that era, I remember they had their music with the exception of Revenge and WorldTour which used generic songs

they need to fix the damaging, and kick out system and why can’t wrestlers with straps pull them down

WWE hasnt had the strap pull down since 2k19 but I agree I liked the feature and wish ether 2k or these guys brought it back never played 2k23 yet since my PS4 caught on fire so no idea if they brought it back over there yet

I COULD USE SOME HELP.
I’ve been playing the game for a few days now and can’t figure out how to throw the opponent to the outside or throw them back into the ring. Every time Irish whip them into they just bounce off the ropes or apron. If anything knows how, that would be amazing (I’m on PS5)

some achievements wont pop even though ive done what is described 4 it 2 pop...XBOX Series X...other than that i like the game
Yeah I've already deleted it. 12 tries in RTE to get Brodie and 12 times I get the Death Triangle block. 0 losses, 0 wins, doesn't matter.

I got Brodie on my first attempt at going for him. I played as Britt and won all my matches up to the PPV and then Dropped the title at the PPV and then beat Scorpio in the 2nd match. If you are champion after the PPV you will not get the Join the Dark Order path seeing that path involves the TNT title
@ajderoehn8429 Just did a quick run through RTE quitting all matches with Abadon and got the Join the Dark Order path, so odds are playing with a female character and not having a title at the end of the block is the easiest way to get the path you are looking for.
I got Brodie when I stopped following the guides on the internet xD I used Sammy and lost all Act 1 matches. You know you can lose match just by pressing quit match in pause meniu?

Either way I'm not going back to it. The only games I play are patched to death and stop working or get tweaked into being garbage. I was hoping this would be different but from Atari to now, I'm just done with video games now. Tired of broken messes.

I actually tested this game on cracked version and first day when played this feel sucks, but 2nd day this game is not bad and some fun, but still don't know it is worth to buy on Steam, because a lot of things looks unfinished as beta Version

Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens) used the F5 in ROH/PWG and called it Deep Sea Diverticulitis in PWG.. Excalibur is a PWG founder so it's likely that they would have used PWG/ROH terms for wrestling moves since F5 is Brock Lesnar.

So you can't customize the rules during a match (which you could do back in the old, old N64 games they love) but you can choose to be vegan or not which influences nothing but a cut scene. Now I understand why the game is decent, but feels so lacking and empty. Priorities.

There's so much I love about this game but it definitely feels lazy in its current state
despite not having 6 man tag matches or being able to create a faction, there are at least 2 three person teams. (Death Triangle & Dark Order)

This is NOT a 60 dollar game, I promise you. BUT, when it comes down to about high 30's I'll grab it.
It really isn't. Marketed so high for a AAA game but it's not worth the price tag.
