  • The footage of this video was shot almost exclusively during a two-week round trip through Georgia in September 2023. And instead of telling the story of this trip in chronological order, the idea was to tell the history of Georgia in about 5 minutes with the help of the footage and some music. Of course, compressing the country's changeful and complex history in such a way means leaving out many details. Hopefully this experiment has become entertaining and historically accurate ...

      @@rubengopro You are welcome!
The information provided was very good. I love the way it starts with the legend and then gives
an overview of the facts from pre-historic era to the present day and finally ends with a proverb!

At school we had a homework to make a retelling and a classmate read the same legend, but for our country - Our teacher wrote to him excellent 6.
Bulgaria is located on the opposite shore of the Black Sea. At Jason's expedition, the Thracian demigod Orpheus, who lived in our lands, traveled with him, and the Greeks stole it from us.
Kutaisi is the second largest city in Sakartvelo, it is not Batumi.
Stalin won World War II, while his allies helped him, and he received the highest military rank - Generalissimo.
The Rose Revolution is a coup under the influence of non-governmental organizations funded by foreign interests, like the other Color revolutions in the former Socialist Republics

Well, I’m not an expert on Greek history and legends. But I know that there are different viewpoints between Greeks and Bulgarians regarding history. Kutaisi is really only the third biggest city in Georgia. It has been overtaken by Batumi in the last decade. If you have been to both cities like me you will immediately understand why. Well, Stalin was one puzzle piece in winning World War II, and maybe not the smallest one. Don’t underestimate Churchill etc. I disagree about your reasoning for the Rose Revolution. It’s more complicated and not much influenced by foreign interests. Best regards

@@rubengopro ancient greek history is mythology not supported by facts. While it has been scientifically proven that the Thracians and Slavs are proto-Bulgarians.
According to Wikipedia, Kutaisi is 70 km² and Batumi is 65 km² respectively
we have sadly underestimated Churchill and declared war on Great Britain and the United States; as a result, he bombarded our capital with the words: "Sofia must be razed to the ground and turned into a potato field".
organizing Euromaidan is not an isolated case, but a universal policy..

@@a4ik09 I have to clear up a misunderstanding. Speaking of the second largest city in Georgia I meant population, not the urban area. In that regard you are right, it is 64,9 km² for Batumi and 67,7 km² for Kutaisi. Population wise it is 172.000 for Batumi and 135.000 for Kutaisi (both numbers for 2021). As far as I know, recent excavation results have at least partially supported the Greek mythology. I only learned that Bulgaria was bombed by the Western Allies during the Second World War from you and have just read up on it. That's right. After Georgia's independence, there were always very reformist and very traditional political currents. Sometimes one side was on top, sometimes the other. Of course, my Georgian colleagues can explain this to you in much more detail. But look at the events from this point of view!

@@rubengopro Stalin has a particular opinion about the population, it is just "statistics"; the territory is what determines the scale of a village, city or country. there are more tourists in Batumi and as a resort town it probably sells out to wealthy foreigners who increase the population growth in the region.
Didn't they find Pandora's box during these excavations :D
our point of view is: Always with Germany never against Russia!
