I believe they focused too much on the skin color remark. My husband is a dark complected Italian & I am a very pale woman of Irish descent. My family were wondering what color skin our children would look like. My sister adopted a child from a girl who was white & her boyfriend was black & we were all wondering what shade the baby would be & she is just a beautiful cafe au lait child & it would not have mattered to us if she was darker or lighter. We were just curious. We have children in our family of all races & ethnicities. My sister adopted two children from Texas who are of Mexican heritage. We are a very blended family.
Robin you are so right. My husband was dark skinned Italian and I am a mixed white and I always loved his skin color and we always talked about what color our baby would be. This is NOT rascism meghan.

I think it depends on how something is said. If one is sharing wholeheartedly about it in curiosity its different than saying it out of judgment and concern for how it will affect their image. As this was done behind closed doors only they know the intentions and tone and motive from this conversation they had.

We have to look at them in every magazine because she won't stop buying press, awards magazine covers , invites to carpet events. She never went to these before Harry . She got invites to red carpets as a filler to fill the area with bodies then they get to take pics on the red carpet with the other extras. They do this in Hollywood. Suits was her breakout but she was not the star Sarah was if they really wanted privacy you would not see her or him

@@angelavitulli6994 William allegedly adviced Harry with the best of intentions to wait and make sure Meghan is up for the attention, royal life and lifelong duties before he proposes. Harry took it the wrong way for some reason and thought William wanted to destroy his relationship and make him unhappy so instead of thanking the unsolicited advice or at least thinking a little bit about it, he got so worked up that he rushed to get married even more than before. It was his childish way of saying "I know better, it's my business, I do it however I want it". Little did he know though that WIlliam was speaking from experience as he waited 10 years to see if his love would be suitable for his life and he had no bad intentions regarding Harry's relationship to Meghan.

I've written this in other comments, and I'll say it again...... I come from a large, multi-generational, mixed race family on both sides........ Out of pure curiosity, we'd discuss tone of skin color, just as we would eye color, size of ears, or whatever...... Ophra's response was wrong.... she should have said, I'm sure they're curious" and let it go...... this may be American, but Ophra, as a black woman, she has to know, and I mean, she has to know for sure, that skin color of an inter-racial baby or descendant is not an uncommon curiosity, or topic of conversation even with the mother.... , and none of those in my family would think this is racist for a second..... ... we laughed at this and all talked about how Harry and Megan will use anything to improve their role as victims.

I am speechless, especially with this woman who took a critical stance that Harry and Meghan defined themselves as celebrities not royals by setting a clear boundary of not making any public appearance right after the labor to deliver the baby!!! I am a woman myself and baby delivery labor varies from woman to woman depending on their health situation. if a woman had a C section to deliver the baby, then it would be difficult to step out and make public appearances right after the operational procedure of C-section. Meghan mentioned in the docuseries that she had C section due to pregnancy in her late 30s and it was difficult to make public appearance for her right after the operational procedure to deliver the baby.

Meghan was not "any woman." And Royal protocol dictates that if the people want a picture of the baby, they need to trot out that baby for his first photo op. With or without the mother. The Royal Rota will figure out how and where (and which one photographer along with which one videographer, as rules dictate), but the when needs to be immediately! If she had a C and needed to stay in bed, they would have accepted just Harry and the baby. But, they are part of the system, and she knew what she was signing up for. I don't know if they even discussed it, but who paid for the C-section? Which was surely expensive. The people! Diana did it. Fergie did it. Kate did it. The issue was that they COULD have done it, but they didn't WANT to do it. (Bringing us back to the nickname of "Duchess Difficult"...)

As far as a mixed-race baby’s skin color, it may have simply been an excitement. I have the skin tone of Harry, and wow would I have LOVED to see my babies have better color (they don’t). It’s a normal question to wonder what the new baby will look like; to discuss whether the new baby will have blue eyes or curly hair, or ivory or olive complexion is discussed in every expectant family. It’s paranoid to think that it’s negative or racist to wonder what your new baby will look like or what characteristics your baby will inherit.
well that may be true, but you are taking the situation out of it's context. in the case of meghan, they were asking if the baby would LOOK black because of meghan's heritage. in THAT sense it is much more than asking what the baby will look like, rather it is questioning whether the baby will look like a black individual. the question left is "WHY ask? what about it matters? This is why it's being described as racist because it was asked for a racial motivated reason.

I do believe that discussions were had re Archie’s skin colour but I do not believe there was any malice involved. I am married to an African man and we have 5 children whom are all different skin shades and who also have different hair textures. My sisters and I always discussed “how dark” my baby might be when I was pregnant. They would say I hope this baby is dark your previous baby or I hope this baby’s hair is curly or soft or whatever. I believe that Harry knows the comment was not meant in the way Meghan has perceived it and it is her who blew it completely out of proportion

Another thing I want to say. Me growing up in a black environment was a culture shock when I transferred to a racist four year college. That's when I realized, I was black. People I did not know, made this same statement. Because the students and the teachers showed me this. My mind and my grades were affected. No one helped me. I transferred to another school. Got that degree. I may not agree or disagree with Harry/Meghan or Kate/William, but guess what, Meghan experienced the racism. It does affect you. Harry/Meghan did exactly what I did (back in 1977) - I removed myself from the school that was toxic to my health. And that is the right thing to do. Anyone will do this. Years from now, this will all be forgotten, and people will be able to move on.

It was the Press that was the biggest problem not so much a comment being made by a family member. Had the press not dragged out the racist attacks she would have been able to put it behind her, but the constant headlines, not once let up. Prince Harry said it well in an intverview that its not so much brits or the family they aren't racist its the press that is.

I don't think that the royals being public servants and some of their income coming from British citizens make them belong to the citizenry, not on a personal level or on any level. They are human beings first and foremost and have a right to their private lives. To have to make a public appearance and give an interview so soon after a baby is born is total bullshit. Having a baby is a big deal and they have feelings and human frailties just like everyone else. They aren't anybody's belongings. They choose to perform services as working royals but it is strictly a choice. One can't say they're the people's property. That is slavery in a reverse fashion. If somebody chooses to support me and I accept it, maybe I have a certain duty to them, but I don't owe them my very life. They have a right to their lives. I do not blame the Sussexes for leaving.

However, Markle on the other hand is able to return to the community where she failed in her career, and forge ahead as a royal. Very unfortunate that she didn’t think about her husband. He was an aristocrat who came from something solid and real, not from the pretend world of Hollywood. All in all this is a tragedy. That’s what happens when unsuitable people marry.
It seems strange to me that she never wondered if her husband gets homesick. I moved within the country from one big city to a smaller ones and I'm still homesick to this day and it's years ago now

Thank you for a balanced view rather than the salacious biased comments in the typical British press. But a few corrections: 1)They didn't surprise the royal family about their hope to move away. They didn't "go rogue". They had told the queen, Charles and William about that months earlier. Then in January, they sent a message that they wanted to talk about it more seriously now and was told the queen would meet with them early Jan, but they were then told she wouldn't meet at all. Harry asked many times to meet, but was put off again and again. Then it leaked to the press (by the palace). So Harry and Meghan then had to say something in the media too. They didn't blindside anyone. It was the palace that leaked it first. As the royal family has always been doing - as well as feeding lies against H&M to the press to make themselves looks better. 2) H&M never wanted to "change the royal family", they just wanted to be treated fairly. 3) The royal family fed lies to the british media about Meghan (and Harry) to make themselves (different members of the family) look better. That's the way the communication departments work in the palace. The family betrayed Harry. So why are they now complaining that Harry and Meghan have spoken out. The family said their trash for years. Now its Harry's turn finally.

Why's it awaste of film
Just the way this documentary ends tells it all. Footage filmed before all the troubles began portrayed a Firm ordered version of how things were going. Everybody was amazing and welcoming or were they? Harry and Meghan were forced to tell the working royal lies to the camera, but later the horrific and sad truth of what was really going on came out.
Diana was a truth teller and Harry is his mother's son. As someone who is a survivor of divorced parents, and an abusive home life, I know how important it is to tell the truth about all the horrors so you can finally let it all go and heal. Harry and Meghan are doing the right thing to expose the evil. It's so sad that the royal family is so rotten. Poor Diana murdered so Charles could remarry. Now the whore that helped plan Diana's murder is sitting on Diana's throne. It's all so disgusting and Harry and Meghan are so blessed to have unentangled themselves from those thugs.
