- Absolutely amazing teamwork from everyone involved on this job. OSP and ODOT were great to work with and everyone worked so well together. This was near Burns Oregon. The rear steer failed, forcing him into the mountain side. Thanks to everyone involved in this team effort! Hope you all enjoy the video!

This Driver got extremely LUCKY on this rock wall being there or this would be a much different discussion
And stopped opposite a pull-out!
Now this is reality.I’m glad to see no bickering just straight up cooperation amongst men hallelujah
That’s how we work 😎
That's because everyone of them was a professional. The cumulative experience there to get that rig "back on its feet" had to be staggering! This is a "how to" video for those of us (like me) who're anxious to learn. I really enjoyed the video.
Unlike some of the comments eh? :-)
Amen
A fist fight or two is only for shows with no content.
Thoughts and prayers for the guy that is paying the tow bill on this job. Good job on the recovery.
Yeah. He didn't make any money that day, for sure.
And probably for another 6 months too.
im sure something like this is covered by insurance with some kind of deductible.
A load like that has Insurance
Yeah insurance, I know somebody who needed only two tow trucks, and the bill was like $25k, imagine, this bill, will be over $100k. Insurance could say bye bye to the owner. Or pay cash. Insurance have a power to kick you out, if they feel you cost them to much. Insurance is legal mafia.
That has to be hands down the best recovery I've ever seen. Your teamwork is spot on.
Thanks!

Well done, guys. Nobody else wanted that job, but you did it. The heavy recovery world is a small community, and you'll be remembered for this accomplishment. DOT and police agencies will have you on speed dial.

It's not that they didn't want to do the job. It was most likely because they didn't have the capability of moving this. Even Ron and the tator would have been outmatched on this one.

I like it !! No snapped cables, everything went smoothly, GREAT JOB.
In the 70's and 80's I drove a heavy duty wrecker, I snapped a cable pulling a drilling rig up a steep dirt hill. My truck jumped 2 feet off the ground, and I DIDN'T get hit with the cable. MUCH RESPECT to your whole team.
The best part of this monster job is the fact nobody would do the job and these guys said yes right away and made it look easy. The Math never lies. Great Crew, Great Job.
Yep! We always say yes! 😏
Haha that's what she said
I enjoy you showing the math that you use and showing the game planing so people not in the industry see that it’s not just hook and pull

Man that was a dam good recovery, no damages to the rig or freight, thank God for hard and a whole lot of know how from the wrecking crew. Appreciate y'all.

WOWZERS! That's a MEGA recovery right there. I see lines, cables, snatch blocks, straps & chains EVERYWHERE!
Don’t be fooled … half the lines are shadows 😁
Too much time to do it the sophisticated way
This shows what different kinds of jobs that wrecker operators are faced with everyday. You guys along with Pepe's, Ron Pratt , Sumnter, Jamie Davis, Al Quiring and other operators deal with all the time, and every job is a whole new ball- game.
nice domain
Good thing Pepes wasn't out there, they would've had atleast 6 rotators on this recovery. Great job guys!
Awesome work!! I saw Sarge and it took me back 48 years. I was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas as mechanic and wrecker operator (1974 - 75). I was with the 96th Transportation Company (heavy truck).
That was maybe the best hour long telling video I’ve watched in a very long time! Definitely an hour and nine minutes well spent.

What a job! Excellent work. Experience really helps. You have a great crew, have been watching for over a year now.
Imagine the driver of the truck showing up next morning with a tow bill to the boss
75 to 100 grand? Ive seen 80k for a rotator picking up a wrecked steel hauler and its lost load.
I would bet the bill is big enough to warrant an insurance claim.
I'm pretty sure Country Repair is pretty fair on prices i seen them prices and are pretty fair and it takes alot to be on towing over 36 years that means they are doing it right
@@jorgegonzalez-bk8zn Fair yes, but most of those trucks are charging around $500 hr and they also charge by how much cable is pulled in certain circumstances. So a buttload of trucks, all the miles to get there, and all the hours on site are going to be a hefty bill.
@jorge Gonzalez you nailed it bud 👌🏼😎
I would not want the bill for this recovery! Lol. The knowledge and teamwork was impeccable. Fantastic recovery to all. Superman saved the day again. 💪💪💪💪

Outstanding recovery. Great to see the logistics and math all come together. Wow what a massive amount of weight to get moving.
Personally, I'm always amazed at people or teams that can do things I would have no clue about accomplishing something like this team. I cannot understand why 554 people gave this a thumbs down. I think they are just jealous.
Those dislikers don’t know what they’re watching… In this job safety is most important. Speed is the minor factor
I think the dislike because it's a bit boring watching the unperceivable moving of the rig.
In regards to the dislikes, my mom had a saying that went "some people would complain if you hung em with a new rope"
Those are the recovery guys who turned down the job...LOL
We appreciate all the good information concerning the towing
On the edge of my chair..., A terrific job considering the size and weight. WOW, I had to send this to 10 of my friends. They have got to see this operation.
Really interesting to see how much skill and knowledge goes into a job like this 👍 Well done to you all 👏👏👏
Amazing lessons in the video. Thanks for sharing. Never realized recovery involved so much. A “ton” more to it than, give more gas bubba!
What an awesome recovery and job well done by you and the entire crew!
Thanks Gary!
A lot of people asking why not unload the machine first. An RGN is incredibly difficult to separate at a sidewise angle and almost impossible to do it when the truck is twisted at a different angle to the trailer. The bottom of the trailer would not be supported properly the way it’s leaning, and dropping it to unload could cause severe structural failure of the trailer. Plus, lifting the rear power unit by resting the pan on the deck while the trailer is leaning is just asking to have the whole thing slide off the trailer. There is absolutely no room on that road to set up a large enough crane to lift that scraper, and you just greatly increase your risk of catastrophe trying to do that. What really caused this accident is anyone’s guess. And what it cost for recovery is really no ones business.
This is absolutely the most amazing comment I've ever seen! Now if you can copy and paste this on everyones comment so I don't have to explain it lol Thanks Bud!
....and people always say "when will i ever use that math?!"
Well, here's a damn good example!

This camera man standing in the middle of all of those stressed cables like a boss reminds me of the movie, "We Were Soldiers" brave real-life hero Hal Moore that stood up the entire time as bullets barely missed him many times!

Rotator is nothing but a crook. He was not needed at all and I must believe he knew he wasn't needed but just outright ripped the owner and the insurance company off for the Lord only knows how much and is arrogant enough to post this for all to see with no shame whatsoever. 😡
Awesome recovery guys. I'm in heavy haul, moving the exact same equipment. A failed booster cylinder is more common than ppl think. One of my guys was in the same situation a few months back. Unfortunately they couldn't get him pulled out rolling, so a couple 80T rotators later, off came the scraper. Again Kudos on the great job fellas. 👏
Darned dangerous. Is it from lack of maintenance or what? I hadn't heard of that issue before.
How much would all those tow trucks cost?
unreal. thats some crazy weight
I know nothing about the design of the booster cylinder and the system, but it seems that if failures are common and results can be catastrophic, that some sort of redundancy could be built in.
If scrapper was running order, why not just use it
Excellent job all! You guys are incredible when it comes to calculation weights and pulling power.

I’m guessing its atleast 10K per towtruck and then the asfalt repairs. Wouldn’t be surprised if the number has six figures
@@yrtracingteam106 I was figurin' it would probably be into the six figure territory too. There were a lot of trucks and people plus the time that all of that was tied up must have been the whole day...there was six hours of travel time to get there and back. Glad it's not my bill heh, heh.

Nice job guys, having been around this kind of environment this is truly a lot more involved than it looks, so many different situations and such a great potential for something to go wrong. The man on the rotator is the one who really has to see past everything and compare it to his vision. True form of art as it takes great skill often mentored from another and somewhere along the way everybody learns a lesson or 2 on what wont work. I worked as a mechanic a no of years for a heavy hauler based out of Elko MN G&T trucking in the mid 90s and they hauled the big stuff out of the mines up in northern MN and any west bound machinery that went up in the mountains they sent along a pusher to help it along. Man what a investment in equipment and a great video, look forward to more, be safe fellas and God bless
Truly got my full attention watching this fantastic recovery thank you all involved this awesome job well done.
How in the hell can anyone give this a thumbs down! Quite obvious they must be deaf and blind! Nothing like a well thought out plan and a TEAM!

That's why chaining down loads is so important. Could you imagine if that scraper came off. God bless
I run lowboy also, I cross tie just for this reason, cross tieing will NOT ALOW IT TO SLIDE . And usen the Propper size of chain & not galvanized .... And also getting your binders as tight as you also. I've seen where drivers had a chain or chains not tight & your chains can snap because you have little bit of slack .
Would've been easier to winch out if it had come off tho.
