Very good reaction video-- I always like to see someone experiencing Jona for the first time. Those chills you got, Jona is only singer on a regular basis. You picked up on what it is-- it's her tone of voice that said her apart, and way she can vary her tone and dynamics. The tone is there when she sings softly and when she sings very loudly; she also has tremendous range which she didn't even fully demonstrate here. In the last few years she has perfected a classical soprano voice also. But it's her way of putting emotion in every word that also is different. She has some excellent recent performances such as One Moment in Time from over a year ago on ASAP (she had been suffering from laryngitis for two weeks and could hardly speak when she performed that but you wouldn't know except for a little extra huskines at times). Also on ASAP she did a version Miss You like Crazy in the last year. but for some chill inducing showstoppers I would recommend her Wish Bus performance of I'll Never Love Again--it's a bit older around eight years old I think but excellent for chills inducement; from September 2019 version of I'll Never Love Again (Lady Gaga) in concert at the Aces. There are two similar looking videos of that from the same event--one is on her channel but it's an audience recording, the other is on another channel and it has three pink cubes in the bottom right corner in a triangular pattern. That is the venue production, I believe, in better audio and video quality. They are actually different performances, which I didn't realize at first, with different endings. I think it's the best version of I'll Never Love Again. Morissette does excellent version also, a little earlier in 2019, but it is an audience recording so the audio quality is not equal, so it's hard to compare.

Jona's voice is versatile. Try her My Saving Grace cover and her duet with Lani Misalucha, "Flower". You'll be amazed how far that petite girl can do with her voice.

I don't understand why she's overlooked in the Philippines. I'm in the United States and I talk to customer service representatives in the Philippines often, and after our business is finished I will ask about their favorite female Filipino singer, and most the time, I get the usual suspects, Regine, Lea, Sarah, and also Morissette, even Moira, and occasionally KZ, but I don't recall anyone that said Jona. When I mention that she is my favorite, a lot of them know of by the name Jonalyn, but surprisingly some of them don't recognize her, at least until I mention some songs they may know by her, like some of the theme songs to movies and TV shows she's sung. Others do know about her and agree she is one of the best, but one recently said she hasn't been doing anything lately, even though she's on ASAP almost every Sunday for the last almost year and a half.
